That night, MO Xiuchen and Gu Kai chatted till dawn before returning home.
He thought that Wen Ran was asleep, but when he entered the bedroom, he saw her sitting on the sofa, staring blankly with a pillow in her arms.

MO Xiuchen picked her up from the sofa and headed for the bed, gently explaining, “I only had one drink with Ah Kai just now. I was too scared you’d scold me to drink more.”
He placed her on the bed and drew the blanket over her, “I’m going to rinse off. Are you going to wait for me or go to sleep?”

With a glance at her bare skin, he turned and stepped into the bathroom.
Wen Ran watched him disappear into the doorway of the bathroom. Moments later, the sound of running water echoed from within.
