Chapter 8: Green algae falling from the sky

“Boom—!!!!”

An unprecedented, deafening roar suddenly exploded within the Fairy Tail Guild hall!

That sturdy roof, which had withstood countless internal magic bombardments and even held firm against external enemy attacks, a roof personally reinforced with magic by Master Makarov, now shattered instantly like a cookie struck hard by a giant’s warhammer!

Wood splinters, tiles, stones, and dust mixed into a destructive torrent, pouring down from the huge hole in the ceiling, forming an “indoor dust storm” that swept through the entire hall. Visibility was instantly obscured, leaving only the piercing sound of shattering and the exclamations of the members.

The dark figure, descending from the sky, crashed through the roof with an irresistible impact.

Its landing spot was incredibly precise, perfectly between the fists of Natsu and Gray, which were about to collide!

“Bang!”

A visible wave of air violently spread out in a ring from the point of impact! Natsu and Gray only felt an irresistible force emanating from the point of collision, as if they had been struck head-on by a rampaging Magical Blast Rhino. They both grunted, then were sent flying like broken kites by the shockwave, tumbling awkwardly for a dozen turns on the ground before coming to a halt.

The dark figure, meanwhile, crashed heavily onto the floor in the center of the Guild, which was paved with the hardest stone.

“Thud—!”

The entire Guild hall shook violently, as if a small earthquake had occurred. The hard stone slabs buckled and cracked inward like fragile eggshells, and a huge, bottomless impact crater, over three meters in diameter, simply appeared out of thin air.

Smoke and dust filled the air, obscuring everything.

Time seemed to freeze at this moment.

The Guild fell into a deathly silence, with only the sound of dust settling. Everyone stared dumbfounded at the large pit, their minds blank.

“What… what was that just now?” Lucy asked with a trembling voice, her face covered in dust.

“An en… enemy attack?” a timid Guild member stammered, guessing.

As the smoke and dust slowly cleared, the scene in the center of the large pit gradually became clear.

A man’s figure slowly, even with a hint of laziness, stood up from the bottom of the pit.

He had no obvious injuries on his body, as if the terrifying impact that could have smashed through the floor was merely a tickle to him. He had distinctive, messy, seaweed-like green short hair, and his bronzed skin was covered with crisscrossing scars, each seemingly telling a story of a fierce death match.

He wore only a tattered green loincloth on his upper body, barely covering his chest, revealing eight sharply defined abs. At his waist, three long swords of different designs hung quietly, emitting a cold and sharp aura that was out of place in this magical world.

The man raised his hand and rubbed his sleepy eyes, as if he had just woken from a long slumber. He surveyed the chaotic surroundings, looking at the large hole he had made, then looked up at the broken roof that was letting in a chilly draft. Finally, his gaze fell upon the petrified mages around him.

He let out a long yawn and, with a tone full of sleepiness yet also a natural complaint, uttered an astonishing statement:

“Hey, your roof’s quality… isn’t so good.”

The entire hall remained silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Everyone’s brains completely crashed because of that sentence.

Natsu, who had climbed out of the rubble, shook his dizzy head. He looked at his still-numb fists, then at the green-haired man who had descended from the sky with an expression that said, “This has nothing to do with me.”

“Hey,” flames ignited in Natsu’s eyes, and a grin of excitement spread across his face, “Who… are you?!”
