”Thanks a bunch, boss dude!” He grinned in response, as he accepted the prize.
Shortly after the end of the final, the awards ceremony began, with cash prizes for all those that finished in the top eight and above.
With my congratulating of Rion, that wrapped up the awards ceremony for the main tournament, but this isn’t over yet…now it’s time for the exhibition matches between those with power levels of above 100,000.
That is, after a short break to rebuild the arena, anyway. Rion completely obliterated it with his last attack, and the stadium itself had sustained a bit of minor structural damage too, so yeah.
As I concluded the awards ceremony, I headed back up to the VIP area, where lunch was about to be served. After watching all that action, it feels like I’ve worked up an appetite, despite having not participated myself.
Not to mention that I could use a bit of fueling up before the exhibition matches begin, of which I’ll be participating in the last one.
The first exhibition match will be between Siterra, the Earth Sage, and Draco, the Dragon King. The second match will pit Fuo against Belia, and the third will be Shiro versus Az. And the fourth and final exhibition match with be Sylvar and Bell versus me.
I’d already shared the match ups with the other leaders, and after going through it, they agreed to go ahead with this line up.
As I returned to the VIP area and rejoined them, we began discussing the tournament and how to move forward with it from here on in, while we had our lunch, a seafood buffet…
”In addition to more merch ideas, I think we should hold the tournament over multiple days instead of wrapping it all up in a single day. That way, we make more ticket sales and prolong the hype and excitement,” Suggested Agatha, as she wolfed down some fried squid.
”We could also have more participants be involved, as in holding preliminary rounds before the main competition. Stuff like seeded brackets might make it more interesting too,” Added Sylvar, munching on crab legs.
”I think it would be more prudent to hold this competition bi-annually instead of just annually, wouldn’t you agree?” Spoke up Cusana with a gleam in her eyes.
”I’m definitely open to that idea, but we could also hold other international events between our nations, this tournament doesn’t have to be the only occasion where we all collaborate,” I responded, as I crunched down some fish and chips.
”That did not occur to me, it is certainly not a bad idea to hold other events, ones that showcase skills other than fighting ability,” Replied Siterra with a nod.
”What sort of skills? If it is not interesting, it may not be very popular,” Reasoned Bell objectively.
”Singing or dance competitions could be fun, or even more broadly encompassing talent competitions. There are plenty of options and possibilities, we just need to figure out which’ll be most popular with the people of this world,” I surmised in response.
”Ooh, this all sounds like a ton of fun!” Suddenly came Belia’s voice, as she barged in through a portal.
”Could you please not appear so abruptly and without warning?” Sighed Cusana in exasperation.
”I couldn’t help it, I was only planning on eavesdropping at first, but the conversation got so interesting that I couldn’t help myself! I’m sure you understand!” She grinned in reply, before adding, “Also, I wanted to make a suggestion…we should have sex competitions too!”
”Wha-…how would you even compete with something like that!?” Blurted out Agatha indignantly, as she patted Cusana’s back, who had choked on her food in response to Belia’s suggestion.
”Easy, I’ve got a ton of ideas! Whoever lasts longest wins, whoever gets the most guys to cum in a certain amount of time wins, whoever gets the most girls to cum in a certain amount of time wins, whoever can deepthroat the farthest w-…!”
”Do you really have to speak of such things while we are eating!?” Snapped Cusana with a death glare, “We are absolutely not going to approve of such an event!”
”Aw, but why not? I guarantee that there’ll be plenty of people interested in something like that, both to participate in and watch!” Protested Belia.
”Uh, this is kinda awkward to say, but I think it needs to be said…this world could use some porn. Look, if live streaming an event is possible, then surely recording one is also possible, right? If we can make a spell that can record and store video, we can create porn! Oh, uh, and regular movies too, I guess,” Grinned Sylvar sheepishly.
”Wow, you really thought of making porn before realizing that this could apply to normal movies too, huh?” Responded Agatha with a stifled snort of laughter.
”What is this ‘porn’ you speak of?” Inquired Cusana curiously.
This conversation is taking a turn for the bizarre…
”O-oh, wow…,” Chuckled Belia, clutching her sides as she laughed, “I never knew I needed to hear you say the word ‘porn’, but thanks for that!”
”Um, Cusana, porn means…,” Agatha leaned over and whispered to her, explaining the definition.
”Th-that is s-so vulgar! This is ruining my appetite!” She exclaimed red-faced, as she scarfed down various fried seafood while looking pretty flustered.
”Sure doesn’t look that way,” Smirked Belia with a raised eyebrow.
”W-well, this food is quite delicious, so even if my appetite is ruined, I can still eat,” She huffed in response, “A-anyway, I see no need for this p-porn nonsense!”
”Actually, it’s profit potential is immense. See, in our past lives, it was one of the most prevalent industries in the entire world. It’s got an almost universal reach too, especially with single, lonely adults and young teens during and after they go through puberty. And there were literally thousands upon thousands of people whose professions were to perform in these videos, known as porn-stars. Think about it, just how popular the red light districts in this world are,” Pointed out Sylvar.
”You know, the sad part is that he’s not exaggerating at all…you’d be surprised by how much demand there is for these things,” I backed him up with a wry smile.
”They’re right, this could be a seriously profitable venture. How about this, we start working on experimental movies and then sell them to the public, and get their feedback to see what people enjoyed and what they didn’t. Once we’ve figured out what kind of movies people want to watch, we set up video rental stores,” Suggested Agatha with a grin, “And of course, we have an 18+ section, in other words, an area where you have to be over eighteen years old to rent a video from that area. Hm, though maybe 16+ is more suitable to this world that 18+…actually, wait, that’s kind of tricky when it comes to the other races, who have much longer lifespans. Well, it can vary depending on each nation’s preference, the laws don’t have to be universal.”
”You know, all this depends on whether we can actually record a video onto a Spell Card…after all, movies aren’t recorded in one, continuous shoot, it takes several different cuts. I’m not saying it’s impossible or anything, just that it’ll probably take longer than you think to pull off,” I reluctantly rained on her parade.
”Yeah, that’s true…but it doesn’t have to be full-length movies right away! It could be short videos like skits or stuff like game shows, or even episodic mini-series. Stuff like informational videos could work too, like training or workout exercises, cooking guides, and so on. And amateur porn is often recorded without any cuts, so that should work too,” Countered Sylvar optimistically.
”I have to admit, I do not quite follow all this…but you all seem quite confident in this idea, so I shall have faith in that confidence,” Remarked Cusana, who definitely looked like she was out of her depth.
”Good call, the entertainment of the worlds that the Reincarnators came from are leagues ahead of anything we’ve got in this world at the moment,” Chimed in Belia.
”Hey, I just realized, we could totally remake Jurassic Park, we’ve got real freaking dinosaurs to work with, after all!” Suddenly exclaimed Sylvar, as he abruptly stood up.
”Ohmigod, YES! I love that idea! That movie was so good, and way ahead of its time!” Nodded Agatha in agreement, her eyes lighting up.
”Calm down, guys…yeah, we’ve got plenty of great ideas to rip off from our old worlds, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, one step at a time,” I grinned sheepishly.
But I have to admit…their enthusiasm is infectious, and all these ideas are incredibly appealing to me. Could we really have movies and videos in this world before too long? I really hope so…
