Chapter 4: Chapter 4 The Wolf Pack is Surprised.

Su Lin had to run back and forth twice to bring back the remaining four Arctic Rabbits to the cave.
When he tossed these four Arctic Rabbits in front of his cousin, Wolf Sister, and the few little wolf cubs, he clearly noticed the surprise in the eyes of the little wolf cubs, as well as their admiring howls of awe.
As a member of the Wolf Clan, the Arctic Wolf also belongs to mammals. Although they possess a certain degree of intelligence, they are incomparable to humans.
Therefore, the fact that Wolf Sister and cousin were able to express their surprise and admiration to some extent was already more than Su Lin had expected.
As for emotions like disbelief and shock, such feelings are probably exclusive to humans at this stage.

With a low growl from Su Lin, he picked up the corpse of an Arctic Rabbit cub and threw it in front of them.

The furious howl, along with the heavy force of the slap, made the orphan wolf that had gotten up hurriedly start to whimper an apology in panic.

The law of the jungle, where the strong are revered, was once again well exemplified.
After the orphan wolf whined for a while, and seeing that Su Lin seemed to have calmed down and returned to rest in the den, it cautiously approached the Arctic Rabbit carcass again.
But this time, it didn’t dare to have even a single thought of snatching food, and after nibbling a few bites of fresh meat, it crept back.
It was evident that the previously domineering orphan wolf among the cubs had learned its lesson this time.
Also, its fearful gaze carried a hint of confusion.
It didn’t understand why the little runt who could hardly stand before could now so easily defeat it.

But nobody explained it to him.

The one he picked out earlier was the corpse of an adult female Arctic Rabbit, which weighed over ten pounds and was more than enough to satisfy the appetites of his cousin and Wolf Sister.
So with one Arctic Rabbit down, the four little wolf cubs also ended up with round bellies.
Su Lin also saved the remaining two Arctic Rabbit cubs for Wolf Mother.

Time flew by, and soon it was evening.
The nights in the Arctic were even colder than the days, with bone-chilling winds.
Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom, along with several wolves, trudged back, weary from their hunt.
Wolf Mother was very unhappy at that moment.
Today was another day with scarce rewards.
Not a single live prey had been caught; they only managed to scavenge half a Seal left over by a Polar Bear.
The Wolf Pack currently had eight adult Arctic Wolves, three males and five females.
Half a Seal was far from enough to fill their stomachs, and it might not even make up for the day’s exertion.
Her own cubs would have to go hungry today.
“Ao!”
Thinking of this, Wolf Mother let out a frustrated roar.
If it continued like this, the Wolf Pack might not last much longer.
If only they could migrate south a distance, it would be much better.
After all, there were many large herbivores like the Arctic reindeer in that area.
But… moving with the cubs was too risky.
Plus, there were more Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears in that area,
With the current strength of the Wolf Pack, they could handle one bear, but two would be a struggle.
So Wolf Mother kept hesitating.
Suddenly….
Wolf Mother’s nose twitched as she detected a strong scent of blood.
It was emanating from the mountain cave.
Inside the cave were only a few of the Wolf Pack’s cubs.
“Awooo! Awooo!”
With two urgent howls from Wolf Mother, the entire Wolf Pack shuddered to attention.
Immediately, Wolf Mother, Wolf Father, and a few cubs in the cave, all of the Arctic Wolves, rushed to the cave as if they had gone mad.
“Awooo!”
Wolf Father, as the Lead Wolf, roared with a hint of intense killing intent.
The few cubs that had been hiding in the cave, sated and hydrated, all involuntarily sat up with a start upon hearing this familiar roar.
Su Lin was no exception.
Could it be that Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom had encountered an enemy?
He quickly scrambled to his feet and dashed towards the mouth of the cave.
“Awooo!”
With a strength of 60 and Speed, Wolf Father leaped in through the entrance, his white paws hitting the ground and causing several pieces of shattered rock to fly.
“This….”
Su Lin, witnessing the enraged Wolf Father, who faced no enemy, froze on the spot in confusion.
What’s going on?
He looked befuddled, while Wolf Sister and Cousin behind him shook with trepidation.
Seconds later, Wolf Mother and the rest of the wolves also charged into the cave.
They scanned the cave, and only after realizing that the cubs were safe did the fur standing on their bodies gradually settle down.
“Awooo!”
With a low growl, Wolf Mother extended her tongue, incessantly licking Su Lin.
It’s good that the cubs are safe.
But where did the heavy scent of blood in the cave come from?
“Awooo.”
Su Lin, having a rough idea of why Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom had been furious just now, gave a soft low growl and then dragged out the remaining two Arctic Rabbits from inside the cave.
Wolf Mother approached and sniffed at the Arctic Rabbits.
Hmm? Fresh? Was the heavy blood scent from earlier coming from these?
But where did the food come from? Aren’t Arctic Rabbits difficult to catch?
Could it be that the cubs caught them?
Wolf Mother looked at Su Lin with puzzled eyes.

Su Lin responded with a howl.
At this moment, Wolf Mother and Wolf Father didn’t rush to eat the two Arctic Rabbit cubs.
On one hand, while it would be fine for Wolf Mother alone to eat the two rabbit cubs, sharing would hardly be enough to fill the gaps between their teeth if they all partook.
On the other hand, all eyes from the wolves were curiously fixed on Su Lin.
This was just a one-month-old cub, and it was already capable of hunting Arctic Rabbits by itself?
Wasn’t its growth rate a little too fast?
If this continued, wouldn’t it soon surpass them?
Clearly, the way several of the wolves were looking at Su Lin had changed.

Wolf Mother growled lowly, the first to avert her gaze.
After all, this was her own offspring; she was merely astonished at the rate of Su Lin’s growth.
Other than surprise, she thought nothing more of it.
She picked up one of the Arctic Rabbit cubs from the ground and carried it away with her; having given birth not long ago, she indeed needed to replenish her body.
Afterwards, once Su Lin, Wolf Sister, Cousin, and the other cubs indicated they were full, Wolf Father then tossed the remaining rabbit cub to the rest of the she-wolves.
As for the males of the Pack, they all quietly returned to their original spots inside the cave and lay down to sleep.
After all, sleeping was the best way to conserve physical strength.
