Taking a deep breath as he sat up from the bed in the world of Shenwu, Lin Su’s face bore a strong alertness.
He looked nervously around, then paused abruptly.
No anomalies?
He had thought that the sudden drowsiness had something to do with his sleeping self in the other world, but now he sat calmly in the room provided by the Beast Taming Union for the concoctors, feeling no physical discomfort, nor had the earlier sleepiness traveled with him to this world.
Bright sunshine poured through the huge, clean window onto the bedside, and Lin Su stood up absentmindedly, walked to the window to watch the morning light, and fell into silence.
So… what was the source of that wave of sleepiness?
“Knock, knock, knock.”
A crisp knocking sound came, and Lin Su quickly walked to open the door, only to find one of the concoctors who was also participating in the grand competition from the Beast Taming Union at the door.
“The vice president asked me to call you. In half an hour, we’ll be leaving,” the young man said with a smile. “Oh, and the vice president also asked me to tell you that your championship reward has been collected.”
“Okay,” Lin Su nodded blankly, “Thank you, I’ll pack up now.”
“You’re welcome…”
After exchanging a few polite words, Lin Su closed the door again and sat on the bed.
A contemplative look appeared on his face.
It seemed that he had woken up naturally in the world of Shenwu.
Where, then, was the problem…

Clearly, it had to be the resting consciousness in the other world.
If Lin Su’s spiritual state were imagined as a pool, then this pool would have two inlets, each connected to one of the worlds, Shenwu and Blue Star.
When Lin Su was active in the world of Shenwu, the Shenwu world’s inlet would be draining, consuming his spiritual state, while the sleeping Blue Star’s inlet was refilling it, replenishing his spirit.
When he returned to the Blue Star, it was the opposite; the Blue Star served as the draining inlet and Shenwu as the refilling one.
If Lin Su maintained regular sleep without staying up late or having poor rest periods in both worlds, the water in this pool would be in dynamic equilibrium, keeping his spirit amply supplied without complications.
But things changed when he had exploited the bug.
He first used hypnosis to return to Blue Star, spending five to six hours practicing concoction techniques and consuming a great deal of spiritual energy, while the sleeping time in Shenwu world was merely about ten minutes—akin to the refill rate not keeping up with the draining rate, drastically dropping his spiritual state.
Perhaps at that time, his spiritual state could still maintain, so Lin Su didn’t experience any anomalies after returning to Shenwu world.
However, during the few hours from the end of the competition to when he fell asleep at night, he continued to deplete his spiritual state, but on Blue Star, he only slept for half an hour under the hypnosis of the Six-sided Rubik’s Cube, leading to a second drastic drop in his spirit.
The two drastic drops in spiritual state brought Lin Su’s spirit to a rather perilous level, thus triggering some protective mechanism that forced him to sleep preemptively.
Understanding the reasons behind it, Lin Su breathed a sigh of relief.
His biggest fear had been not understanding the pattern; now that he grasped the cause of the anomalies, he felt more at ease.
Lin Su felt a bit regretful.
He had thought he could continue to exploit the bug without side effects; if so, he would only need to rely on hypnosis to fall asleep and awaken multiple times within a day to experience several consecutive days in the other world, achieving a similar effect to Time Acceleration.
But now it seemed that the transmigration mechanism’s bug could only be used occasionally in special situations. If he proceeded as previously planned, his spiritual state simply couldn’t endure for long…
