Qin Lang and the others were intrigued by Li Yang’s excited tone and joined in the excitement. They walked towards the cars with their beautiful companions by their side. Zhou Chao chuckled as he watched Li Yang’s enthusiasm. Chao Yue and Guo Yan followed Zhou Chao into the Rolls-Royce Phantom and headed towards the clubhouse.
As they drove, Qin Lang and the others were taken aback to see Zhou Chao leading the way in the Phantom. It was an unexpected sight, as they had encountered the Phantom before, but it was typically their fathers who owned and drove such luxurious cars. As second-generation elites, they were more accustomed to the likes of Ferraris, McLarens, and other high-performance vehicles.
The distance between the Metropolitan and The Palms Residence was not far, and in just a few minutes, they arrived at the clubhouse. Zhou Chao, Qin Lang, Li Yang, and the others stepped out of the cars and approached the entrance.
Yang Mi, who had been waiting at the door, greeted Zhou Chao, “Mr. Zhou, you’ve arrived. Everything has been arranged. Please follow me.” The group followed Yang Mi into the clubhouse.
A group of people entered a private room and took their seats. Li Yang looked at Zhou Chao and said, “You, my boy, are amazing. You’ve changed cars again. Your previous two cars must be collecting dust now.”
“Brother Li Yang, my brother’s garage still has seven cars, and they’re all so beautiful,” Zhou Chao hadn’t spoken yet when he heard Guo Yan saying next to him.
“Seven cars, and they’re all beautiful. I’m really curious now about what kind of cars you have,” Qin Lang and the others showed their curiosity.
“After we finish eating, we’re going to my place to hang out. You can see them then,” Zhou Chao said helplessly.
Yang Mi pushed open the door of the private room, followed by a waiter carrying dishes. After a while, everyone started eating. They had been playing for the whole afternoon, and now they were famished.
After satisfying their appetites, Zhou Chao suggested walking to the underground parking lot to burn off some calories. The others agreed without much thought. Zhou Chao led the group towards the parking lot.
As soon as they entered the parking lot, their attention was drawn to a black SUV. Qin Lang looked at the massive black vehicle and turned to Zhou Chao, saying, “Karlmann King, the King of Cars.”
“Yes, it’s a specially customized version, fully armored and bulletproof,” Zhou Chao replied.
Li Yang, Yang Shuo, and Yin Ketin shifted their gaze to the luxury cars nearby. “Are these cars also yours, Zhou Chao?” Yang Shuo pointed at the high-end cars and asked.
“They’re mine,” Zhou Chao nodded.
“Bentley Azure, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, Lamborghini Aventador, Koenigsegg One:1. These are all multimillion-dollar supercars. Where are the keys? Let me go and experience them immediately,” Li Yang walked over excitedly and grabbed Zhou Chao’s hand.
“The car keys are at home. Xiaoyan, please go and get the keys from my study. Take Chao Yue and the other ladies with you to have some fun first,” Zhou Chao turned to Guo Yan and instructed, pointing to the women who were taking pictures next to the luxury cars, including Qin Lang, Li Yang, and other female companions.
Guo Yan nodded and led Chao Yue and the other ladies towards the house. In no time, she returned from the elevator with five sets of keys and handed them to Zhou Chao before heading back into the elevator.
Unable to contain their excitement, each of the men grabbed a set of keys. Qin Lang took the key to the Karlmann King and opened the car door, getting in. Li Yang, Yang Shuo, and Yin Ketin each took the keys to the Koenigsegg, Aventador, and Veneno Roadster, respectively, eagerly wanting to experience them. Although all of them came from billionaire families, the cars they drove themselves were only worth a few million.
They spent over half an hour in the parking lot, playing with the cars before finally going upstairs. As they entered Zhou Chao’s house, they couldn’t help but admire their surroundings. Zhou Chao was living a carefree life compared to them. He didn’t have to work at his family’s company, study management, and familiarize himself with the company’s operations. Who wouldn’t want to be a wealthy tycoon with unlimited wealth and no worries?
Summer nights in Modu were hot, and it was no different that night. Qin Lang and the others had already dived into the 150-square-meter outdoor swimming pool, enjoying the view of the Bund while playing in the water with their female companions.
Zhou Chao, on the other hand, had to sit on a sun lounger by the poolside and chat with Chao Yue, who was wrapped up tightly.
“Chao Yue, do you have any plans recently?” Zhou Chao turned to her and asked.
“I’m going to participate in a variety show soon, so I’ll be traveling to different places,” Chao Yue replied.
“That makes sense. You’re so popular now, a walking influencer. You must have plenty of projects coming your way.”
The two of them continued chatting, moving from work to personal life. Their conversation became more engaging, and their laughter could be heard by the poolside.
Time flew by, and it was already past 11 o’clock when Chao Yue’s manager called to take her back. The manager had been worried about her, fearing that the paparazzi would capture some inappropriate moments and release unfavorable news. Zhou Chao chuckled when he heard about it.
Seeing that it was getting late, Qin Lang and the others also realized it was time to leave. Before leaving, they mentioned that they should meet up again and let Zhou Chao make the arrangements. Zhou Chao happily agreed. Only Li Yang stayed behind.
“Chao, you’re something else. I was planning to take you out and broaden your horizons today, but you’ve taught me a lesson instead. Those cars in your garage are just sitting there. Let me drive them when you have the time,” Li Yang stood on the balcony with a glass of wine, looking at the bustling traffic on the Bund across the river, and said to Zhou Chao, who also held a glass of wine.
“My two brothers also mentioned the same thing. If you want to use the cars, just drive them back home,” Zhou Chao replied.
“Occasionally playing with them is fine, but taking them back home would lead to a scolding from my old man. He would say I’m not focused on my work and only know how to play.” Li Yang shook his head, looking miserable.
Li Yang then asked, “Do you have any plans lately?”
“For now, I can’t say for sure. After my sister returns to Fog City, I might have to go to Peng City and Hang City to take care of some matters,” Zhou Chao replied.
“Speaking of which, do you have feelings for Chao Yue? I see you always hanging out with her.”
“Not at the moment. I really like Chao Yue as a person. She’s down-to-earth, speaks her mind, and knows when to advance and retreat. She’s an interesting person. For now, let’s be friends. As for what the future holds, who knows,” Zhou Chao drank his wine, pondered for a moment, and said.
Because he himself wasn’t sure if he had romantic feelings for Chao Yue. As a fan, he had always admired her, but now he couldn’t tell if his liking was purely based on his admiration or if it had developed into something more complicated.
The two of them continued drinking, chatting, singing songs, and before they knew it, they had finished a bottle of wine. They were about to continue drinking when Guo Yan came out of her room and said, “Brother, it’s already past 1 am. You two are like a pair of drunkards, singing songs in the middle of the night. It’s time to go to bed.”
Hearing Guo Yan’s complaint, both of them smiled and got up, heading to their respective bedrooms.
