Theresa suddenly understood. If they couldn't win a direct clash of stats, then they could only outsmart her—but what did that have to do with stones? She wasn't an Earth Stone Child.

"What else do you know?" Skadi was now completely on alert. The tone in which these two talked about Seaborn was neither the fear of sea dwellers nor the reverence of Deep Sea Cultists. The unknown was the most terrifying.
"I know a lot, but I am not your enemy. I think we can cooperate, Deep Sea Hunter Skadi, or do you prefer another name—Ish-Mala?"
After speaking, Xing Chen gave Theresa a look, and she understood, releasing Skadi.
