Shi Lang and Jenkins carried the injured lieutenant to the queen’s residence in the palace. Darcx followed them in silence. The residence was the highest guarded place in the whole palace. It was set up in the eastern wing of the palace and had only one purpose, which was to house the queen or the king of the empire.
The palace guards that were escorting the three of them marveled and thought about why the injured person did not lose any blood. Darcx asked, “What do you plan to do with him?”
