The night passed uneventfully.
Jiang Shang slept until noon, and after having lunch at the hotel, he decided to go out and explore.
“The outside world is truly wonderful,” Jiang Shang sighed.

It would have been fine if she had said other garbled words, but how was he supposed to make sense of garbled numbers?

Jiang Shang handed a fifty-thousand Han Yuan note to the cashier sister.
“Alright, please wait a moment.” The cashier began to make change.

Jiang Shang took the change without counting it and walked out of the door with his items.
“Beep—” The alarm at the entrance sounded.
“Uh, sir, did you forget to pay for something?” The cashier sister asked Jiang Shang in a rather subtle way.
“No, I don’t think so?” Jiang Shang turned around, placed the wine and cigarettes on a nearby shelf, and patted himself down to show he wasn’t hiding anything.
“Hmm, maybe I didn’t demagnetize the items you bought?” the cashier sister said uncertainly.
Jiang Shang cooperatively handed the cigarettes and wine to the cashier sister, who demagnetized the items again.
“Beep—” The alarm sounded again.
“Is the alarm broken?” The cashier sister was a little confused.
She tried walking through the alarm herself, and it didn’t sound.
“Sir, could you please put down the items and walk through the alarm once?” the cashier sister asked Jiang Shang apologetically.
“No problem.” Jiang Shang cooperatively did as he was asked.
“Beep—” The alarm sounded once more.
“Uh, sir, could you please cooperate with us and let us search you?” the cashier sister tentatively asked.

“Ah, alright.” Upon hearing this, the cashier sister felt greatly relieved and quickly called the security guard at the door to search Jiang Shang.
Jiang Shang even heard her softly muttering, “Then why did you tell me to come before?” as she left.
Jiang Shang found this both amusing and frustrating.
He had actually meant, “You can come and search me,” and hadn’t specified that she should be the one to do it.
However, a slip of the tongue had led to this misunderstanding.
“Young man, could you please raise your hands? It’ll make it easier for me to search you,” the old man said to Jiang Shang upon reaching him.

The old man patted Jiang Shang down for a while but found nothing.

“Alright, now help me demagnetize this.” With that, Jiang Shang pulled out a butterfly knife from seemingly nowhere.
Seeing the cashier sister’s shocked expression, Jiang Shang simply demagnetized the butterfly knife himself, then threw the change the cashier sister had given him onto the counter.
“Keep the change, consider it a tip.” With that, Jiang Shang left the supermarket with his items.
Before the cashier sister could even react, Jiang Shang walked back in.
“I’m getting a lighter.” With that, Jiang Shang left again.
It wasn’t until Jiang Shang was long gone that the cashier sister realized she might have encountered a master thief.
They searched him, but couldn’t find anything?
