This type of amethyst was known as a ‘water bead’ and it was a very common form of jewellery. However, with Songyu’s wages, purchasing these beads probably used up her entire savings. Although the quality wasn’t as good as the jade beads sent by the other palaces, the intentions behind the gift triumphed over the others exponentially.
Lin Feilu put it on her wrist wordlessly and rushed to hug Songyu’s waist, “Thank you, Songyu! You’re so nice to me!”
