Alex woke up the next morning, and judging by the expression on Chae-Yeong’s face, she was not exactly pleased with him after the shit he had pulled the previous day. In fact, she was deliberately giving him the silent treatment all morning.
And though she poured his coffee and made breakfast for him. It was clear that she was holding a grudge against her stepson. Because of this, the family sat and ate their breakfast in awkward silence.
After all, Min-Ah and her elder sister were not present for yesterday’s festivities, and thus they were not aware of what Alex had done, or why their mother was upset at him. They were busy showing off Alex’s penthouse to their friends, and had missed the party entirely.
Determined not to let this awkwardness continue between himself and his loved ones, Alex proposed a crazy idea to his stepmother, one which he was sure would cause the woman to take the bait.
“Hey mom, I need to get a haircut, and perhaps get fitted for a suit. Do you mind coming with me to the mall later today?”
Chae-Yeong was immediately confused by this statement, and was quick to ask a couple of questions that came to her mind after hearing this.
“What? Don’t you have classes today? Besides, you can drive yourself…”
Alex, however, was not taking no for an answer and scoffed before answering his stepmother’s questions.
“I’ve decided to take the day off, and though I can drive myself, I would prefer a woman’s opinion. After all, I’m not exactly an expert when it comes to fashion, and I figured whose opinion is better than my mommy’s?”
This comment caused Chae-Yeong to blush. She was previously feeling like her close relationship with her stepson had come undone after the young man had fucked all of her friends the previous day. But seeing how he wanted her opinion on what suit to get, instead of Jung-Hyun’s or any of the other women, she couldn’t help but say yes, as she wore a pretty smile.
“Okay… Fine, we’ll head out around lunchtime. Does that sound good?”
Alex nodded his head and smiled as he drank from his coffee. And for the rest of the morning, he simply relaxed in his home until the time came for his date with his stepmother. Chae-Yeong went all out on her appearance for the occasion.
After driving Min-Ah to school, she returned home, where she took a shower, before getting dressed in some fine clothing, while also doing her makeup in a way that made her look the most appealing. Once she had done all of this, she stepped out of her bedroom and down the stairs, where Alex was lounging on the sofa.
The young man had put at least some effort into his appearance, as he was no longer wearing just his underwear, or even the usual gym shorts and sleeveless hoodie that he wore around town on a normal day.
Instead, he was wearing a dress shirt, with some slim fitted jeans. He also had dress socks on, and a pair of loafers. Along with a nice belt. Once the man saw his stepmother descend from the stairs, he got up off his ass and kissed her, before assuring her that she looked absolutely stunning.
“You are so beautiful, mommy….”
These shameless words once more caused the woman to blush, as she broke away from her stepson’s grip, and grabbed hold of the keys before leading the man into her car. The moment the couple pulled out of the driveway, the usual Kpop appeared on the radio. Which Chae-Yeong seemed to enjoy. Far more so than usual.
Knowing that the woman was expecting him to speak up, Alex couldn’t help but ask who this group was. Despite not being able to differentiate it from any other.
“I take it you’re a fan of this group?”
Naturally, the woman was, because she sang along to the lyrics with perfect memorization. When she heard this remark, she began to speak rather excitedly about the group.
“Of course! Full Moon is a brand new group of talented young idols, and was only formed a month or two ago, but they have become really popular already! I’m personally a huge fan of Mimi! She is so adorable! Truly a pure and innocent girl!”
Alex rolled his eyes when he heard this remark. Pure and Innocent? In the entertainment business? Not in a million years. Anyone who bought into that nonsense was either naïve, foolish, or an outright simp.
Sure, there may be some incredibly beautiful women in the pop industry, hell it practically relied on such a thing. But any claims of virtue were absolutely fabricated. Or so he believed, and because of this, Alex formed a devilish smirk as he teased his mother for being so naïve.
“Oh, I’m sure this Mimi is a total whore behind the scenes. For all we know, she could be getting gangbanged backstage after every performance! By the way Mimi? Is that Korean? Or some made up bullshit stage name that she uses to sound cute?”
Chae-Yeong pouted when she heard her son’s remarks. She liked to believe that the idols in the Kpop industry weren’t a bunch of degenerate whores like their western counterparts, but Alex just so happened to be a realist and, if she was being honest, the boy was probably a pessimist as well. Thus, she ignored her comments about Mimi being a whore, and was quick to explain the origin of the nickname.
“Mimi is her stage name. Her real name is Cheong Mi-Young. Supposedly, it was a nickname she received as a young girl, and she has kept it ever since. It’s cute right?”
Alex simply scoffed and rolled his eyes once more. Something that caused Chae-Yeong to pout even further. Luckily, the awkward atmosphere did not last for long, because the two of them pulled into the mall’s parking lot shortly thereafter. Where they exited the vehicle before walking inside the massive shopping center.
It became abundantly clear to Chae-Yeong that most of the adults inside the shopping complex were couples because they were all holding hands while walking through the mall. She immediately felt self conscious about the age difference between her and Alex. Perhaps she thought that she was simply too old for him.
But Alex did not seem to care as he wrapped his arm around the woman’s waist and pulled her in close. Evidently, he noticed his stepmother’s anxious expression and was quick to comfort her over her obvious thoughts.
“You really should smile more. You are much prettier when you are happy. Besides, you are the most beautiful woman in this mall, and I want to show you off!”
These words of flattery caused the woman to blush and smile as she leaned in close to Alex and walked together with him through the mall. Much to the surprise of everyone who witnessed the couple. After all, Chae-Yeong was obviously much older than Alex, hell she was practically twice his age. And yet the interracial couple so boldly displayed their affection in public.
Eventually, Alex and Chae-Yeong made their way to a rather luxurious salon that was located in the mall, where Alex had his hair slightly trimmed and styled. Meanwhile, Chae-Yeong sat in the waiting area and read from a magazine.
Once the haircut was complete, she approached the counter to pay for it, but Alex stopped her before she could do so. The man pulled out his own card, which shocked Chae-Yeong, because it was not the credit card which he had previously stolen from his father, and instead had his name on it. He then paid for the overpriced haircut, before looking over at Chae-Yeong with a charming smile on his face.
“What? Did you seriously think I would force you to pay for our date? Today is on me, mommy…”
Being called mommy in public by a man who was clearly not her biological son caused Chae-Yeong to blush profusely. Especially when the entire Salon looked at her weirdly. They did not know if this was some kind of kink, or if this woman was actually Alex’s stepmother.
Plus, he had also said the word date, which, if she was his stepmother, would imply that something scandalous was going on between the two of them.
While the riff raff tried to determine just what their relationship was, Alex dragged Chae-Yeong off to the food court, where the two of them were able to enjoy a nice meal together. Chae-Yeong appeared to be coming out of her shell as the two of them talked about Kpop some more. Something which Alex only did to entertain her.
She seemed determined to convince Alex that this Mimi was not the type of girl to go around randomly fucking men. And though Alex did not believe a word that Chae-Yeong said, he smiled and “conceded defeat” knowing that arguing about this point any further would be a waste of his time and effort, not to mention would only serve to further annoy his date.
Thinking that she had gotten the better of her stepson in this verbal sparring, Chae-Yeong was especially happy, as she led the man to a rather luxurious men’s clothing store that was dedicated to one of the most luxurious brands.
She did not expect that Alex could afford such a thing, but she simply wanted to show off what he would one day be able to obtain if he worked hard. Contrary to what she was expecting, Alex took genuine interest in the store, as well as a very expensive suit, which she had pointed out that she thought would look good on him.
The moment she said these words, Alex got the tailor to fit it to him, which caused Chae-Yeong to be nervous. She couldn’t help but express her thoughts aloud.
“Alex, sweetie…. We really can’t afford this. You shouldn’t be wasting this man’s time….”
The tailor looked at the couple with a curious gaze. Obviously, he did not want to waste his time either, and was about to say something when Alex spoke up, ensuring his stepmother that he could easily afford the suit.
“Don’t worry, mom, I can easily afford this suit, hell I could buy everything in this store if I really wanted to….”
This caused Chae-Yeong to become alarmed as she accidentally raised her voice in surprise.
“Alex! Where did you get that kind of money?”
She did not even question if her stepson was lying to her, because she had been to his penthouse and had also witnessed his bike. However, Alex simply raised one finger to his lips and shooshed the woman.
“Shhh… It’s a secret….”
Upon seeing that this was indeed a wealthy customer, and perhaps someone involved in some rather shady business. The tailor treated Alex and Chae-Yeong with the utmost respect. And when the time came to pay for the suit, as well as the other accessories that Alex had selected to go with it, his card worked perfectly fine, much to the surprise of Chae-Yeong.
Little did Alex and Chae-Yeong know that their entire date was being watched and recorded by someone who blended in with the crowd. Where the photos would be immediately sent to an interested party overseas….

Diana gazed upon the photos she had received from the private investigator which she had hired to tail her son. Needless to say, she was shocked by what she had found out. The boy was living a rather degenerate lifestyle.
Excessive alcohol, and plenty of women, were the two biggest concerns. Not only was Alex going on dates with his stepsisters and stepmother. But he also was hooking up with random sluts on the side.
The private investigator had followed Alex back to his apartment building on several occasions and had successfully managed to coerce the staff of the building into letting him know that Alex was indeed the owner of the penthouse.
And then there were the fights that Alex seemed to keep getting himself into. Not only had the young man been beating up high school kids, but he had also sent several of the neighborhood husbands to the hospital after sleeping with their wives.
Luckily, the private investigator did not find out about Alex’s little encounter with the police, or Diana would be even more concerned about her son’s well-being. She could not fathom what had caused the young man to so suddenly change his behavior.
When Diana had known Alex, he was a kind and sweet boy. One whom his sisters absolutely adored. But something had changed within him, and he was now the scum of the earth. Was she really responsible for this change in behavior? Diana could not help but believe this to be true. And because of this, she broke out into tears after realizing what kind of terrible mother she had been.
The woman had the urge to immediately fly out to South Korean and mend the rift that had formed between herself and her son. Especially now that she knew how it had affected him, and his personality. But she was still hesitant to do so.
If she were being honest with herself, Alex seemed to want nothing to do with her. And Diana could not bear the thought of her only son slamming the door in her face if she were to arrive at his doorstep. Or how the boy’s new stepmother would react if she showed her face around her son.
It had been a few weeks since Diana and her husband had a falling out, and since then, she had continued to live with her two daughters in the penthouse suite of one of her husband’s rival’s many casinos. Though despite her best efforts, the girls continued to ignore her. They had gone so far to even pretend that she did not even exist. Something which made her feel even more horrible about herself.
If Diana really wanted to, she could charter a private jet to fly her out to Seoul that day. Yet she did not do so. After all, although Alex appeared intimate with his stepmother, there was no sign that they were having sex. That was a line that she truly believed her son would not cross.
The same could be said for his stepsisters, though Alex took them out on dates, and was kind to them. He had done the same for his biological sisters when they were younger. Perhaps he was just really close to his new family?
This was something that made Diana extremely jealous, and she could not help but turn off her phone in order to avoid the many photos she had of her son behaving like a jackass. The woman was crying so much that a small pool had formed on the table where she rested her head on her forearms.
She just barely managed to gather the strength to mutter beneath her breath the thoughts which plagued her mind.
“Alex… What have I done?”
