Chapter 194: The Fearsome Foursome
After enjoying a nice meal of MREs at the fire, Alex and Nari decided to get some rest in the A-frame shelter that Alex had built on his first day at the campsite. The two of them went at it like rabbits for a few hours before finally spooning for the rest of the night.
By the time the sun rose on the next day, Alex woke to find that Nari was already well ahead of him. She had prepared breakfast from some of their supplies and left it out for Alex to eat. While she herself was working on the rest of the second story. Once the wall was up, they could then begin building the roof, being one step closer to finishing the cabin altogether.
When Alex snacked on the scrambled eggs, and boar bacon, he looked over at Nari who was crafting the next layer of walls. She looked up and hollered at him with a conceited tone in her voice.
“Well, look who’s finally up! Did you enjoy your beauty sleep princess?”
Alex smirked and responded in a similar sarcastic manner.
“Don’t objectify me! I’m more than a piece of meat you know!”
This, in turn, caused Nari to break out into a fit of giggles as she descended from the staircase that they had built together the day before. Once she was out of the cabin, the dark purple haired beauty rushed over and hugged Alex. She, like all the others before her had become more gorgeous than any other women Alex had ever laid eyes on. Yet she still had her tomboyish charm.
Alex smirked as he hugged the girl, before looking over at the unfinished cabin. He examined the work the girl had done alone for some time before speaking about his thoughts regarding its ongoing construction.
Nari didn’t look over at the cabin, instead she looked up at Alex’s face, blushing slightly while averting her gaze. She spoke her thoughts on the subject aloud.
“If that’s what you want, then I’m fine with it… As long as we can be together…”
Alex grinned when he heard this response from the young tomboy, and rustled her hair with his hands, before grabbing hold of the last of the bacon and bitting off a portion of it with a loud crisp
“Alright, I’m ready. Let’s do this!”
And just like that, Alex and Nari finished up the next wall of the second story of the cabin. Once they were finished, they descended from the hillside and returned to the Mansion. Where the two of them showered. Before enjoying the sauna together, along with a brief rinse in the hot tub. Once they had concluded this, they allowed the Island’s staff to message them and give them manicures and pedicures. Making sure that they’re tired and grimy feet were well taken care of.
It was only after the two of them had a day of solid rest and relaxation that Alex decided to make the announcement to his girls that Nari would be joining them all on the rest of their little camping trips.
“Alright… So I have a brief announcement. Since Nari is the only one of you who actually has some construction skills. I’m going to be taking her up to the cabin every day from here on out to help me with its construction.
However, I will also be selecting Dal to come with us so that she can forage for some plants so that our meals are more diverse. And finally, I will be taking one more of you to help us maintain a constant source of fresh water. Who we will be rotating every journey to and from the campsite? So Dal, and Min-Ji the two of you get ready, because we will be heading out within the hour…”
Dal was overjoyed to join Alex back at the campsite. Apart from perhaps Nari, she enjoyed the experience most of all the other women who had gone so far. And she was more than happy to forage around the campsite for edible plants that would go great with some nice cooked venison or pork. Because of this, she decided to bring with her a lot of ingredients that could be used as sauces and seasonings to help bring out the flavor of their meals.
As for Min-Ji, she may have some theoretical knowledge of what to do in a survival setting, thanks to her studious attitude and inquisitive mind, but she had no practical experience whatsoever. Still, she was just happy that Alex had finally called on her. And thus she joined the group as they made the trek back to the campsite. Where after a brief lesson on how to boil water and maintain a fire. Alex and Nari got to work on the cabin, while Dal went foraging for onions, garlic, mushrooms, rice, whatever she could find to add to their meal.
Meanwhile, Min-Ji just sort of sat at the campfire and did her duty, bored out of her mind as she watched Alex and Nari bicker like an old married couple about how best to make a log cabin. Eventually Min-Ji got too bored just sitting by and watching the water boil. Thus, she decided to set up a more effective means of water purification. Which she used her theoretical knowledge, as well as trial and error to construct.
By the time the sun had set, they all convened for the evening at the campfire, where Alex was surprised to see the system that Min-Ji had created. Min-Ji had constructed a four-stage water filtration system out of Alex’s roman concrete, and some bamboo pipes that Alex had lying around.
The first tank of the filtration system was filled with rocks, which after the water filtered through these rocks it fed through a bamboo pipe into the second concrete tank, that was filled with coarse sand, which again after filtering through the coarse sand, the water fed through another bamboo pipe into a tank full of charcoal. Yet again, it followed the same process until it reached the final tank, which was full of fine sand. However, at the end of this tank, the bamboo pipe was tied off with some canvas that filtered the very last of the water into the bottom most tank.
By constantly pouring water into this filtration system throughout the day, and then boiling what was left over, Min-Ji had created an abundant source of fresh water. Water that no longer tasted like a swamp, no less. And Alex was incredibly impressed with the design. When Alex saw this, he picked the girl up in a bear hug and spun her around, much to her surprise. Where after letting her down, he planted a big fat kiss on her luscious lips before applauding her for her efforts.
“That’s my girl! I knew Min-Ji and her sexy little brain would come up with a superior way to treat water!”
Min-Ji was incredibly embarrassed, but when she started receiving compliments from the other girls, she blushed even further. Alex was not the least bit surprised to see that the girl’s affection for him skyrocketed after he made her out to be some kind of savior.

However, Alex would do no such thing as he continued to treat the young woman as if she were the smartest person he knew.
“Min-Ji you have no idea how important what you just did is. I mean.. If we were stranded here on this island, you would have created a lifeline for us. As long as we keep the top of this full, and replace the charcoal ever now and then, you have just created a primitive water filtration that can regularly be relied on, and doesn’t need to waste our fire! Theoretically, if something were to happen to mansion, and we were stuck here, you would have really saved our asses with this creation of yours!”
Min-Ji blushed once more, these times she herself volunteered to hug Alex, while her affection reached its zenith.
