The group quickly split up, each member taking a different direction as they made their way across the peaceful field. Despite the tranquility of the area, the field was teeming with slimy monsters of all shapes and sizes. Slime monsters were known for their peaceful nature, but their levels were no joke. Most of them were over level 50, making this map a high-level area for players to explore.
Since they knew that other players could be trying to explore this area as well, they had to be careful and keep their guard up. The peaceful nature of the slimes could rule inexperienced players into this map due the false sense of security.
As the group continued their search for the mini boss, they occasionally stumbled upon slimes around them. Each of the slimes had their own unique and cute shapes, unlike the disgusting and grotesque slimes that they had encountered in The Cursed Crypts’ field. Some were round and chubby, while others were slim and elongated. Vivian even came across a slime that resembled a bunny, with long ears and a fluffy tail.
Despite their adorable appearance, the girls didn’t hesitate to take them down. With their skills at the ready, they would quickly dispatch the slimes. The sound of their skills and weapons clashing against the slimes echoed throughout the peaceful field. Each time they defeated a slime, it would explode into a colorful splash of liquid that faded away quickly.
For around ten minutes, the group continued their search for the mini boss, and Vivian suddenly stopped in her tracks. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped as she gazed upon the creature before her. It was a massive, pink slime with a shiny crown perched atop its gelatinous head. Its pudgy, plump body was adorned with various sparkling jewels, and it let out a low, gurgling sound as it shifted and wriggled in place.
Vivian couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Despite its cute and chubby appearance, there was no mistaking the red glow of its health bar above its head. It was clear that this mini boss was no pushover, and she knew that they would need to be careful in their approach.

Vivian’s gaze shifted to the minions surrounding the mini boss. They were Jellypuffs, just like the previous ones they had encountered, but with one crucial difference. The minions wore expressions of anger and frustration, unlike their peaceful counterparts. However, their anger was not intimidating in the slightest. In fact, it only made them look cuter. They hopped around the mini boss with a fierce determination.

Vivian’s heart was racing as she stood frozen in front of the mini boss. She knew she couldn’t take on this monster alone. She quickly waved her hand and a chat screen appeared in front of her.
‘Guys, hurry up! I found the boss!’ Vivian typed, her fingers moving quickly over the virtual keyboard. She hit send and anxiously waited for her friends to arrive.
‘Stay hidden while we make our way to you,’ Allen replied quickly.
‘Got it,’ she typed back. She knew that the boss and his minions were too strong for her to handle alone. .
Allen and the others quickly made their way to Vivian’s location, their steps quickening with each passing second. When they arrived, they too were taken aback by the monster’s appearance. They had been expecting something grotesque and intimidating, but instead were met with a sight that could only be described as adorable.
Even though they knew the mini boss’ name, they didn’t know the mini boss’ form. The game developers had thought of an ingenious way to add to the excitement – they had decided to let the players themselves uncover every monster’s appearance.
The players could take a screenshot of the monster they encountered and upload it onto the game’s website. The player with the best first screenshot, one that showed the monster’s full and terrifying appearance, would be rewarded with a coveted gacha box. This box held the promise of items and equipment, the likes of which were unknown to the player, and was seen as a gesture of appreciation from the game developers.
Such a tactic was one of the many strategies employed by the game developers to encourage players to explore the vast and wondrous game maps. The thrill of uncovering the unknown, the excitement of battling fierce monsters, and the satisfaction of victory were all part of what made this game so captivating and addictive.
Due to the monster’s appearance, Alice couldn’t resist throwing a joke mixed in with her complaining. “Uh… Why did they name this game ‘Hell’s Gate’ when the mini boss looks like pudding?” she said, turning to Bella beside her. She wished the slime looked scarier than this.
Bella turned to her with a smirk on her lips. “That’s because we, the main villains, are cruel bastards. So, the game developer needs something that neutralizes us,” she commented.
“Make sense.” Alice nodded in agreement, though she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment.
Allen took a deep breath, the weight of the upcoming battle bearing down on him. He turned to his teammates, his voice ringing out in a low commanding tone.
“Alright, everyone, listen up. Shea, I need you to use your lullaby skill to put the minions to sleep. That’ll give us time to focus on the boss,” he instructed.
Shea nodded, her eyes narrowed in determination. “Got it. I’ll do my best to keep them under control.”
Allen turned to the rest of the group, his eyes scanning each of them in turn. “The rest of us need to concentrate on dealing as much damage to the boss as possible. We don’t know how long we’ll have before it gets its act together and starts fighting back. Just be careful. Retreat if you have to refill your HP or DP,” he reminded them.
The other girls nodded, their expressions set in determination.
