Those words made the guild leader shocked and opened his party list once again.
The guild leader couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His heart sank at the sight of the empty party list. The names of his trusted allies were gone, replaced with the stark realization that only he and the mage remained. How could this be? He had recruited the best players and led them to victories. But now, they were all gone.

Suddenly, the emperor’s voice shattered the eerie silence once more.
“He’ll catch you all, it’s just a matter of time,” the emperor sang, his voice dripping with malice. This time, it was clearer, as if the evil was standing right behind them. Panic seized their hearts, and they whipped around to face the source of the sound.
Their eyes widened in horror as they beheld the devil emperor himself, his eyes gleaming with a malevolent intelligence. The mage and guild leader trembled as they beheld the evil grin etched on his face and the razor-sharp black claws that glinted ominously in the dim light.
“So watch your back, or face his prime…” The emperor’s song reverberated in their ears, and their hearts pounded as if they were about to burst out of their chests. The chilling words lingered in the air, taunting them with the futility of their flight. He ended his song and swung his claws before both of them reacted.
The guild leader and the mage tried to dodge the emperor’s claws, but it was too late. The sharp, black claws penetrated their bodies with a sickening sound, causing both of them to let out agonized screams. As ranged classes, they were not used to being so close to their enemy, and their HP was reduced by more than half with just one strike.
Blood gushed out of their wounds, staining their armor and clothes. They stumbled backward, trying to create some distance between them and the devil emperor, but he was relentless. With a wicked grin on his face, he lunged forward, ready to finish them off.
The guild leader and the mage knew they were in trouble. They had never faced an opponent as strong as the devil emperor before, and they were outmatched. Their hearts were pounding with fear and their bodies were shaking with pain. They could feel their life force slipping away with every passing second.
“Get up!” the guild leader shouted at the mage, trying to rally his companion. “We can’t give up now! We have to fight back!”
The mage struggled to stand, his body weak and trembling. “But…we’re no match for him,” he gasped, struggling to get on his feet.
“Good night…” the emperor muttered with a sickening grin.
Before they could do anything, the devil emperor swung his sharp claws toward their necks. It was a swift and precise move, aimed to behead them both in one strike. The guild leader could feel the wind of the claws as they sliced through the air, and he knew it was too late to dodge or block the attack.
The sound of metal clashing against metal filled the air, and for a moment, the guild leader thought he had been saved. However, when he opened his eyes, he realized that the mage had used his last bit of strength to protect him and that barely blocked the emperor’s attack. The mage’s body slumped to the ground, his lifeless eyes staring at the guild leader.
The guild leader let out a heart-wrenching scream when he saw his comrade’s lifeless body on the ground. The anguish in his eyes was palpable as he watched the devil emperor prepare to strike again. In a desperate attempt to defend himself, the guild leader pulled out his bow and aimed it at the emperor, despite knowing that it would be a futile effort.
His hands shook with fear and adrenaline as he let the arrow fly. The arrow whistled through the air, but it was easily deflected by the emperor’s sharp claws. The guild leader knew that he had no chance of winning, but he refused to give up. He loaded another arrow and fired it at the emperor.
This time, the emperor simply laughed as he easily dodged the arrow. He taunted the guild leader with his words. “You’re a persistent little bug, aren’t you?” the emperor sneered. “But I’m afraid your efforts are in vain. You are no match for me.”
The guild leader gritted his teeth, refusing to back down. He drew back his bowstring once again, even though his vision was starting to blur and his body was weakening from the injuries he had sustained. The emperor simply shook his head in amusement as he prepared to strike the final blow.
With a swift movement, the devil emperor swung his claws toward the guild leader’s neck. The guild leader closed his eyes, bracing for the inevitable. The emperor’s claws sliced through the air, and the guild leader felt a searing pain as they made contact with his skin.
He fell to the ground, his bow slipping from his hand. His head rolled away from his body. Blood gushed out of his neck and soaked the ground beneath him. His gaze was still fixed on the figure of the devil emperor, who was laughing maniacally as he held the guild leader’s head up triumphantly.
Even in death, the guild leader’s determination to know more about the devil emperor did not falter. His eyes remained locked onto the emperor’s figure, searching for any sign or hint that might reveal his weakness.
The emperor continued to cackle, his eyes flashing with an ominous gleam that sent chills down the spines of those who heard it.
