"Observation method" sounds mysterious, but it is actually a general term for inner cultivation methods. All inner cultivation methods in the world can be summed up in one word - observe.
However, different opinions often lead to essentially different results, which is the origin of many schools of thought.
Therefore, although all methods of inner cultivation are meditation methods, their forms of expression are very different.
Some people like to observe themselves, so they created a method of observation that regards the body as a country, and lets the spirit be like a sage king, looking after the whole country in a non-action manner. This is what is called the sage within and the king without. Most of the internal alchemy exercises such as the Golden Light Mantra follow this approach.
Some people like to observe external things, so they create their own methods of observation, trying to see the principles contained in everything around them.
Ding Shimaan, one of the two heroes of later generations, practiced the inner cultivation method based on this path, so he had a very good eye and could tell at a glance that the old master was like a natural disaster and the Danshi was like a man-made disaster.
Of course, the scope of external objects is very broad, not just people. For example, the Wuhou School's Qimen Imaging Method looks at the pattern of heaven and earth.
Some people like to observe people's hearts, such as the Tang Sect's Guanzizai Heart Method. Those with high cultivation can control people's thinking through a series of means.
The inner demon, a product of the delusion in the mind, is undoubtedly the best at this.
In the eyes of experts who are good at observing people's hearts, people in the world have two sets of thinking.
A set of thoughts that belongs entirely to oneself and is controlled by oneself.
There is another set of thoughts that are mistakenly believed to belong to oneself, but in fact they are just thoughts themselves.
In short, the former can be completely controlled by oneself. This thinking is one's own thinking and judgment about oneself and the outside world.
The latter is something that one cannot control, and may even be controlled by oneself. This kind of thinking is a delusion imposed on oneself by the past and the future, and is the manipulation of oneself by the external world.
Those who are good at this can guide, utilize, or even create new thinking to control the behavior of others, so once the thinking is controlled, flaws will naturally follow.
The series of actions of the inner demon, whether it was the Yellow Springs Road, the Forgetful River, the Three Lives Stone at the beginning, or the farces that followed, were all intended to influence Zhang Zhiwei's thinking little by little.
These influences are so small that they are almost imperceptible, but it is undeniable that as long as we are human, we are not immune to them.

"You thief, you lunatic, how dare you cause such trouble in the underworld? Even the gods and Buddhas in heaven will not let you go!"
