“Where is this…?”
Slowly opening her eyes, an unfamiliar ceiling came into view.
Her voice was a little weak, and the quilt covering her still retained a hint of floral scent and warmth.
The bed she was lying on was very soft and much larger than a typical bed.
The sunlight from outside was blocked by the curtains, making the room appear somewhat dim.
She blinked her eyes, then slowly turned her head to look to the side; the clock on the wall showed it was currently seven in the morning.
“…Is this…my room…?”
Related memories automatically surfaced in her mind. She pulled back the covers, got out of bed, and purposefully walked to a full-length mirror.
“…Is this…me…?”
Reflected in the mirror was a fair-skinned, blue-haired girl.
Unlike ordinary people, she had two peculiar ears on her head and a slightly swaying tail at her lower back.
Horse Girl…
The concept of a Horse Girl once again appeared in her mind, accompanied by her own name.
—Polaris Absolute Speed.
“…I’m a Horse Girl? My name is…Polaris Absolute Speed…?”
“Phew…” Looking at herself in the mirror, she took a deep breath, unexpectedly yet calmly accepting everything related to this.
“I look quite good.”
She moved her body a few times, then smoothly and naturally spun around a few times, praising herself with a smile on her lips.
Afterward, she turned and walked to the window, raising her hands to pull the curtains open.
The morning sunlight streamed into the room. Polaris Absolute Speed squinted slightly, then returned to normal once her eyes adjusted.
The room’s layout was simple; apart from the large, soft bed, there was only the full-length mirror, a wardrobe, and a matching table and chairs.
Wearing cotton slippers, Polaris Absolute Speed walked to the table and found a small note on it.
She instinctively picked it up and read it, tilting her head slightly in confusion.
“Do whatever you want to do. You can do anything, without any worries.”
“Does that mean I’m free to act?”
Polaris Absolute Speed casually placed the note back on the table, turned, walked a few steps, and opened the wardrobe.
There were three outfits in the wardrobe: a white tracksuit, an elegant black dress with lace, and a blue and white dress.
On the shelf beneath the dresses, there was a jet-black crystal crown.
Polaris Absolute Speed’s first instinct was to reach for the black dress; a beautiful self should be paired with the most beautiful attire.
But then, as if realizing something, she pulled back her hand and instead grabbed the tracksuit.
“…The dress…I’ll save it for an important occasion.”
As for the crystal crown, it was clearly part of the dress set, so there was no need to touch it for now.
She took down the tracksuit, turned, and walked into the bathroom, preparing to change out of her pajamas after washing up.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
Just as she had finished changing and emerged from the bathroom, a sudden knock sounded at the door.
She walked over and opened the door, finding a middle-aged woman dressed as a maid.
“Young Lady, breakfast is ready,” the woman said softly, with a gentle smile on her face.
Another memory surfaced in Polaris Absolute Speed’s mind, informing her that the woman before her was the Head Maid.
A Head Maid specially serving her, someone she could entrust with anything.
“Mm.” Polaris Absolute Speed nodded slightly. As she exited the room, she naturally handed the pajamas she had changed out of to the Head Maid.
The Head Maid immediately understood and accepted the order, saying:
“Understood. I will bring a fresh set of laundered pajamas to the Young Lady before noon.”
—
Walking slowly down the corridor, the Head Maid in front and Polaris Absolute Speed slightly behind, she was observing the view below through the window.
She seemed to be a Young Lady living in a manor; her room was on the second floor, indicating a very wealthy family background.
Her gaze flickered, looking at the Head Maid’s head and lower back, and found no organs similar to her own.
So, a normal person…
According to the memories surfacing in her mind, this was a world where humans and Horse Girl coexisted.
Horse Girl were passionate about running, while humans were passionate about supporting and watching Horse Girl run.
The country she was currently in was internationally known as Neon.
Additionally, there seemed to be goddesses in this world, a total of three, collectively known as the Three Goddesses.
Before long, the two arrived in the main hall on the first floor. The Head Maid pulled out a chair, and Polaris Absolute Speed naturally took her seat.
Breakfast was already laid out on the table: a steaming bowl of carrot and meat porridge.
She picked up a spoon and took a bite, her expression unchanged, as her gaze shifted to the television not far away.
Noticing her Young Lady’s gaze, the Head Maid intuitively turned on the television, and then softly asked:
“Is there any program the Young Lady would like to watch?”
Hearing this, Polaris Absolute Speed lowered her gaze in thought for a moment, then looked up and replied:
“Something related to Horse Girl races.”
“Understood.”
The Head Maid immediately adjusted the program, and as her fingers pressed the remote control, she seemed to recall something and added another question:
“Recently, a Horse Girl achieved two Classic Triple Crown victories with an undefeated record. The internet is saying she might become the next Triple Crown Horse Girl.”
“She might even be the first undefeated Triple Crown Horse Girl.”
“Would the Young Lady like to watch a recording of that Horse Girl’s race?”
It was early June, and the Derby race had just concluded, so the recording was the latest and most popular.
“Triple Crown Horse Girl…” Polaris Absolute Speed’s eyes flashed with thought, and some memories resurfaced in her mind.
Triple Crown primarily referred to the Classic Triple Crown.
Namely, the Satsuki Sho, the Derby, and the Kikuka-shō (菊花赏).
Each Horse Girl could only participate once in her lifetime, and only at the Classic level.
And a Horse Girl who could achieve the Triple Crown was undoubtedly the strongest among the strong, a being whose name would be etched in history.
Most Horse Girl yearned for such an existence and would set it as their goal to pursue.
“Mm, then let’s watch it.” Polaris Absolute Speed nodded. She wanted to understand the demeanor of a Horse Girl adorned with such honors.
Under the Head Maid’s operation, a race recording began to play.
The recording wasn’t long, only a few short minutes, but the content displayed within deeply captivated both of them.
“The final straight! Rudolph Symboli has moved to the outer lane!”
“The final 200 meters! Rudolf is on the outside! Rudolf is on the outside! Rudolf is catching up from the outside!”
“The Horse Girl ahead of her is also trying hard! But Rudolf is already unstoppable!”
“Rudolf is overtaking relentlessly, no one can catch up now!”
“Rudolph Symboli! Crossing the finish line!”
“An undeniable overwhelming victory, Rudolph Symboli achieves two crowns!”
“She has conquered the other seventeen Horse Girl and already achieved six consecutive wins!”
“With her undefeated stance, she now stands at the pinnacle of her generation!”
In the recording, the Horse Girl named Rudolph Symboli proudly held up two fingers, signifying her achievement of two crowns.
“Rudolph Symboli, huh…” Polaris Absolute Speed murmured softly, layers of frost gradually condensing in her azure eyes, which were fixed on the recording.
Unconsciously, some emotion seemed to have been stirred.
That was the fighting instinct belonging to a Horse Girl, belonging to Polaris Absolute Speed.
“Such a dazzling presence, like a star, should be frozen in the polar ice and preserved forever.”
