Suddenly the originally white petals began to be stained black—almost as though they were being gradually dyed with ink.
At the same time Kain began to gradually lose all feeling from his limbs, a numbing sensation washing over him. He struggled to maintain his focus, each movement feeling like it was weighed down by an invisible force.
Similarly, the feedback from his contracts also revealed that their bodies began to feel heavier, although the impact was not as great on them as it was on Kain.
It was disconcerting; he could sense the drain of their spiritual power and health with each passing moment. Although the speed of the drainage wasn’t rapid. If given enough time it’d surely have a decisive impact on the outcome of the match.
The energy being siphoned from their bodies was being diverted to the previously gravely injured aqua-coloured rose. Within moments, the pesky opponent that Kain though he’d finally managed to get rid of was almost fully healed.
Kain could see a vine with rose thorns covering it, attached to the aqua-coloured rose and assumed that it was responsible for signifying the target of where the energy should go.
Since their intelligence was greatly reduced, Kain had Queen continuously launch a rejuvenating wind to ensure that the negative skill effect of reduced intelligence after going berserk would not have as much of an impact and so that they could accurately follow his instructions.
He instructed the Vespid Guards to attack the vine, and although hardy, with all of the boosts being provided to them it was still eventually cut through by them.
Unfortunately, by that point, much of Kain’s efforts to injure his opponent had been reversed. The aqua-coloured rose, which had seemed on the brink of collapse, now stood defiantly, its petals shimmering with renewed life.
Thankfully, a couple of ejected stingers from their previous attacks, remained lodged in his opponent, and with their new effect of slowly absorbing energy from their targets, the aqua-coloured rose was incapable of completely healing. Surprisingly, his opponent didn’t seem to have noticed this problem yet, possibly because the time they’d been lodged inside of the rose hadn’t been for very long.
Moreover, as long as Eve continued disrupting its ability to heal, the stingers would eventually be able to finish off the job. He only needs to bide for time now to finish off one of his opponents.

At the same time he had Aegis produce a container only slightly larger than the aqua-coloured rose around it by manipulating the earth.
Although doing so could not prevent the control and release of the healing mist, it had the benefit of preventing its allies from helping to remove the stingers.
Also, whatever skill resulted in the petals turning black, didn’t seem to be easily re-launched and the Dream Flower seemed to have a slightly more wilted appearance, as though exhausted from the use of the skill.
Likely suspecting Kain’s new target, the red rose flared up, creating a barrier of sharp petals that swirled around itself and its allies.
Forming a shield, Kain decided to have Aegis breakthrough with force.
Marching towards the enemy, and serving as a shield for the guards following closely behind him, soon Aegis’ massive figure was right in front of the enemy.
However, instead of attacking the enemy immediately, Kain’s next actions surprised the audience.
The guards following closely behind actually launched their stingers into the right arm of the massive golem. Thankfully, Aegis had no sense of pain, otherwise it’d be an extremely torturous experience.
Aegis transformed his right arm into a massive club that incorporated the embedded stingers. However, now the stingers were now having their sharp points facing outward, rather than into Aegis’ rocky exterior.

The reason Kain chose such a roundabout method of producing this weapon was because he realized during the training that while producing large and crude objects was easy for Aegis, finer details like decoration or adding many sharp points, like now, was not easy for him—draining an excessive amount of energy and time.
Additionally, the club made with the help of the Vespirae also had the effect of siphoning off energy from any creature hit with it.
Moving from behind the massive shield temporarily created from stone, Aegis began a crazy bashing spree.
Watching Aegis, Kain couldn’t help making the slightly disturbing yet amusing connection to the wack-a-mole game back on Earth, alternating back and forth between both the red and white flowers.
At the same time, the guards also provided support and launched attacks.
Since the aqua-coloured rose’s healing abilities were reduced, and much of its energy was being siphoned off, the healing buffs applied to its allies were greatly reduced.
Several women in the crowd couldn’t help but wince at the eventual scene that looked as though a car had run over a beautiful bouquet of roses.
The previously floating petals began to sink to the ground like black snow.
The delicate structure of the Dream Flower lay shattered, its stem bent at various unnatural angles, fraying where it had once stood proud.
The once-lush petals, vibrant and inviting, were now a tragic mosaic of crushed black remnants, scattered across the arena floor.
The red rose, once fierce and unyielding, now lay crumpled, its petals torn and jagged, like broken glass.
The previously threatening dagger-like petals had their sharp edges dulled by the violence of the encounter.
The aqua-coloured rose, which was fortunate to not be brutally bashed in, had also finally had the rest of its energy sucked out. It appeared forlorn, its petals wilted and drooping under the weight of its defeat.
The usual cheers at the end of a match were a beat slow. Not because they were disappointed by it. Definitely not, this battle was more intense than majority of the previous matches and both contestants had shown a riveting array of skills.
