Chapter 3: Foolish Commoners
It was a pleasant night.
Kiliman not only took out his specially made soap for Lady Judith to wash with, enhancing the aroma of the food,
but he even brought out his treasured wild game and wine to entertain the beauty and replenish her strength.
After all, it was quite a strenuous activity.
And medieval women were not as delicate and reserved as modern girls.
Whatever the request, Judith would try her best to satisfy it, making one unable to resist getting lost in the moment.
For several hours, until the night outside the window faded, revealing the dawn's early light, this special cultivation came to an end.
Through continuous refinement, Kiliman’s soul had condensed considerably, and even his mental strength had improved to a certain extent.
Looking at the sleeping widow, Kiliman let out a long breath, then playfully reached out and kneaded her body a few times.
Seeing that she only grunted a few times, with no sign of waking, he put on his clothes and went outside to breathe the fresh air.
At this point, his advancement progress had reached eight percent.
Unfortunately, it was still a long way from one hundred percent.
After a normal person's soul undergoes one refinement and absorbs so much nourishment, it will remain in a highly excited state for a long time, lasting for about a month or more.
If a second refinement were to be performed during this period, it would likely lead to excessive mental excitation, resulting in a breakdown and madness, doing more harm than good.
Ordinary women cannot endure his demands for long; only women with sufficiently strong souls and spirits can help him sublimate his soul and accelerate the advancement process.
So, even though he had been in this world for over half a month, Judith was actually only the second person in his soul advancement experiment.
He pushed open the door and entered Judith's yard.
Before Kiliman could even take a breath and disperse the various bodily fluid odors from himself, his keen demon hunter's vision noticed several shadowy figures hiding behind a large tree not far from the yard, secretly observing the place, seemingly with ill intentions.
The other party also noticed his gaze, and seeing that they could not hide their tracks, three men dressed in fur clothing soon emerged from behind the large tree.
Leading them was a sinister-looking middle-aged man, appearing to be in his thirties or forties, with a messy beard, bronzed skin, and a scratch mark on his face, presumably from some wild beast, making him look rather formidable.
Behind the sinister middle-aged man were two burly men who somewhat resembled him; one held a one-handed axe, and the other held a wooden bow, both looking at Kiliman in the yard with ill-intentioned gazes.
Facing these malicious stares, Kiliman showed no fear; although he wore no armor and carried no weapon, he watched the three approaching men with a calm gaze, like one looking at ants, guessing their identities and intentions.
Three men with similar appearances, possibly related by blood, strong, armed, and capable of using bows and arrows.
Seeing these obvious characteristics, Kiliman immediately recalled the list of suspected murderers that the little widow had provided the night before, prior to their passionate encounter.
Among them, the most suspicious were the three hunter brothers who lived by the forest and made a living by hunting.
These three fellows were old bachelors and ruffians in the village; not only were their characters despicable and their manners rude, but it was said that they once had wives, but they either ran away or died for various reasons.
Ever since Judith came to this village, the three hunter brothers had lusted after her for a long time, especially after her husband died in battle. The eldest of the three brothers had even attempted to forcibly assault her, but he was stopped by other men in the village.
However, because these three brothers made a living by hunting, used some weapons, and were strong, their combat power exceeded that of ordinary villagers. Even if they were in the wrong, not many people dared to provoke them.
Thinking of the animal carcasses buried in the orchard, which ordinary people would never part with and would be hard to find, Kiliman had basically confirmed that the culprits of this matter were most likely the three hunter brothers before him.
They had a motive, they had the capability, and at the first sign of an investigation, they were secretly observing from around the crime scene.
Isn't the result obvious?
As he thought this, the eldest of the three hunter brothers had already walked to within a few meters of Kiliman and stopped.
A look of intense jealousy and hatred appeared on his ugly face as he looked at Kiliman, who was handsome, dressed only in a light shirt, and clearly had just climbed out of a widow's bed, and said in a venomous tone:
“I knew that bitch Judith was a shameless hussy.”
“But I didn’t expect her taste to be so low.”
“To actually sleep with a demon hunter bastard with tainted blood, someone she’s known for less than a day.”
“Adulterers and adulteresses like you should be tied up and burned to charcoal under the flames of the Eternal Fire.”
“Disgusting mutant, I advise you not to resist, otherwise, before I burn you to death, I will definitely carve several holes in your body with a knife.”
