“No, I cannot cry. I will have vindication!” Wiping his tears, Yan Fu’s eyes steeled, “Zhuo Fan, one day I will kill you and lay master’s soul to rest!”

A sudden gale blew, followed by thunder. Yan Fu’s heart seized and turned to look back. He saw a man with wings of lightning charging for him.
“Z-Z-Zhuo Fan!”
In a blink, Yan Fu’s towering thirst for revenge was wiped clean. The panic was so palpable from his face that he was on the verge of tears.
[Dude, I was saying one day! Not now! Why are you here? I’m not ready! Could you at least give me at least seven or eight decades?]

Watching the aged and peaceful man, Zhuo Fan put a pill in Vicious Pill King’s mouth then brought out his gourd. Opening it, a blood-red cute worm wiggled from within.
“He-he-he, finally going to put you to good use!”
Zhuo Fan snickered and placed the Bloodworm in Vicious Pill King’s mouth. He put away the gourd and started going through gestures as he shouted, “Ha!”
In a blink, a visible ripple came from Vicious Pill King.
Shuddering, Vicious Pill King started moving and got up. His mind in a panic, his hazy eyes looked around, “Where… am I?”
“Ha-ha-ha, Elder Yan, we can finally have a nice and quiet chat.” Zhuo Fan made a point to give the kindest and most heartwarming smile he could.
But all he managed to do was send Yan Song into a shivering fit. He staggered backward, to get some to a safe distance from him.
Such a reaction was as instinctive as when a bunny met face to face with a tiger.
If only the others were here to see this, they’d be slackjawed. The grand and magnificent Vicious Pill King, the best alchemist in the empire, who treaded the continent with such haughtiness, was actually a scaredy-cat!
But any who had dealings with Zhuo Fan would find this totally understandable. The fear that was Demon Archon, Zhuo Fan, was not something mortals could fathom.
“D-din’t you just killed me? How on…” Staring long at Zhuo Fan, Vicious Pill King recalled what happened four days ago. But to him, it was as if it was just a moment ago.
Chuckling, Zhuo Fan said, “My actions are always ethical. Those that I want to kill, they stay dead. As for the others, they won’t die if I’m around. I made sure the sound attack was weakened before it hit you, dislodging your soul from your body for a while. It’s akin to feigning death. A mere Soul Restoring Pill would wake you up easily.”
Roaming his eyes in thought, Vicious Pill King found it to be true, but still asked with no little suspicion, “Why did you let me live instead of killing me?”
“Ha-ha-ha, didn’t I tell you? I respect you as being the first Grandmaster of your generation. It’d be such a pity to kill you and I find that using you is a much better alternative!” Zhuo Fan’s eyes shined and his grin widened.
Scared out of his wits, Vicious Pill King now knew Zhuo Fan’s intention and mocked him, “Ha-ha-ha, you think you can recruit me just ’cause you want to? I am the best alchemist in Pill King Hall, so why would I fall from grace and become your errand boy?”
“Nice, prideful. I just love your attitude. At least this way, you’ll get to make plenty of pills!” Zhuo Fan condescended, adding a thumbs up for good measure, “Sigh, guess I can’t force you!”
Startled, Vicious Pill King was puzzled. [I refused yet he’s not one bit angry? He gave up too easily! This is not how the usual demon acts.]
“Zhuo Fan, you won’t try to persuade me?”
“What would be the point? I said all I had to say already. It’s fine as long as you understand!” Zhuo Fan smiled like a good chap.
But then his hand made a sign.
In a blink, a bloody mark appeared on Vicious Pill King’s forehead, causing his blood to boil. He felt his head exploding, that it was slowly cracking itself open.
Vicious Pill King held his head and rolled on the ground from the torture. Blood seeped from his mouth, ears, nose, and eyes.
“Zhuo Fan, what the hell did you do to me?” Vicious Pill King’s eyes bulged out, ready to explode.
In all his years, he had never endured such excruciating pain. Even the poisons he made paled in comparison to the torture this suffering brought about.
He just couldn’t figure out what Zhuo Fan had done to him.
Giggling, Zhuo Fan showed him a red worm, “Elder Yan, to be completely honest, I was afraid you might not be so inclined to go along with my request. So, I gave you this little pet while you were unconscious. It can make your blood to surge and expand, ending up with a bloody bang. “
Horrified, Vicious Pill King didn’t think Zhuo Fan was capable of having such vile acts. He knew he had no escape and clung to his only hope as he yelled, “Zhuo Fan, you’re going back on your own words. Didn’t you say you won’t force me?”
“Yeah, I won’t ever force you. It is wholly up to your own free will if you want to come with. But if you refuse, that takes us back to when we were enemies. It is only right that I rid the world of my enemies, no?” Zhuo Fan’s cold face stared him down.
Vicious Pill King’s mouth fell and felt like crying.
It was clear like ink on paper. Zhuo Fan wanted to force him into submission, but the prick had the gall to preach him of free will, even if it made perfect sense.
“Then end me, spare me of this suffering!”
“Tch, tch, tch, I can’t help you there. It’s my decision on how I destroy my enemies. In your long-lived life, sir, how many enemies have you seen teaching their killer how to kill them?” Zhuo Fan blinked with a wide and naive smile.
