Chapter 60: Chapter 55 Is There a Possibility
The East District Law Enforcement Team was busy all day, rounding up quite a few suspects.
In the process of searching, they found a number of illegal weapons. Usually, people turned a blind eye but given Councilman Tyrone’s death, these folks were just unlucky.
However, they still haven’t found the actual thugs.
“Captain, we’re running out of space in the detention cells,” a member of the Law Enforcement Team said.
Song Si, with his feet propped up on the table, lit a cigarette and said between puffs of smoke, “Check them carefully, release those ‘without issues’, and transfer those ‘with issues’ to the city’s prison tomorrow.”
“Understood,” the subordinate said with a meaningful smile.
This matter of having an ‘issue’ really depends on those guys’ performance.
Song Si, eyes closed, enjoyed the moment and remembered the stunner from the bar earlier that day, revealing a sly smirk.
The bar owner has enough flavor, and he must take his chances when he can.
Being one of the captains of the five major district law enforcement teams, Song Si had too many ways to get a woman.
“Captain, Miss Sophie says she has clues to offer,” someone approached Song Si and spoke.
Song Si put his feet down and extinguished his cigarette as someone brought Sophie in.
“Captain Song,” Sophie called out.
“Does Miss Sophie have clues about the culprit?” Song Si asked curiously.
“Yes,” Sophie nodded. “Captain Song knows about Councilman Tyrone’s mistress, right?”
Song Si nodded, smiling.
“The Councilman’s mistress’s daughter, Elsa, is a friend of mine. She has a somewhat ambiguous relationship with a bartender of a bar on the bar street. When Councilman Tyrone heard about this, he got very angry and sent his housekeeper and guard officer to the bar before he died.”
Sophie spoke. Although she didn’t believe Mr. Tyrone’s death had anything to do with Xu Mo, suspicion alone was enough for Xu Mo to suffer.
Moreover, Captain Song and his Law Enforcement Team members were not good people.
If Ye Qingdie were brought in for interrogation, with her looks… even if there was nothing to find, there would be something to make out of nothing.
Thinking this, Sophie sneered inside.
“Which bar?” Captain Song’s eyes gleamed with interest.
“A young bartender, a beautiful owner, and two helpers. I can take Captain Song there,” Sophie emphasized ‘beautiful owner’, clearly knowing what type of people Captain Song and his men were.
“You have my thanks, Miss Sophie,” Captain Song said with a radiant smile. A beautiful owner?
What a coincidence indeed.

Because of the citywide manhunt, the bar street today was particularly quiet with hardly anyone around. In fact, many bars didn’t even open.
Elsa nibbled on some pastries, while Xu Mo sat across from her, keeping her company and talking for a while. Elsa gradually regained her composure and dried her tears.
Xu Mo was actually quite surprised. He hadn’t expected Elsa to be so heartbroken for his sake.
He had seen Elsa’s reaction when she knocked at his door previously; it was not an act but genuine concern about him being in trouble.

“Would you like some more?” Xu Mo asked with a smile, realizing that Elsa had seen no light in her life over the past year.
Meeting him might have been a small comfort for Elsa, which is why she seemed so desperate when she thought she had caused his death.
Elsa shook her head and said, “Thank you, Xu Mo.”
“It’s alright. Whenever you want to eat something, Miss Elsa, my treat,” Xu Mo responded with a smile.
“Alright, then can I come often to eat?” Elsa asked unreservedly.

Elsa laughed foolishly, her emotions fluctuating so much that she felt somewhat abnormal.
“By the way, I still have things to deal with, I’ll head back first,” Elsa suddenly said to Xu Mo, remembering she needed to discuss moving houses with her mother.
“Alright,” Xu Mo nodded and then walked Elsa out.
After she left, Ye Qingdie sighed as she looked out of the bar: “I just can’t bring myself to hate her.”
“She’s just pitiable,” Xiao Qi said. “Falling for Brother Mo makes her even more pitiable.”
Xiao Qi was very clear that Xu Mo and Elsa were not the same kind of people.
They had been angry over Elsa’s identity as well; her father, Secretary Jin, could be said to be responsible for the death of Seth and Xiao Ze.
But seeing Elsa’s state, they couldn’t bring themselves to hate her.
“Sister Butterfly, it’s because you’re kind-hearted that you don’t hate her,” Xu Mo said.
Ye Qingdie and Xiao Qi, all of them were kindhearted, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been taken advantage of by Qin Zhong.
“Kind-hearted?” Ye Qingdie laughed, almost ironically.
Now their hands were all covered in bloodshed.
“Someone’s coming,” Xu Mo looked outside and frowned slightly.
Sophie barged into the bar with Captain Song and four members of the Law Enforcement Team.
“Captain Song, it’s him,” Sophie pointed towards Xu Mo.
Song Si looked at Xu Mo, his eyes showcasing a devious smile, and approached him, “Did Chairman Tyrone’s housekeeper come to the bar last night?”
“I don’t know Chairman Tyrone’s housekeeper,” Xu Mo replied.
Song Si sneered, as he didn’t think it was Xu Mo and his company. A woman, two young fellows around sixteen, plus someone else taking down Chairman Tyrone’s house?
That would be a joke.
If Sophie truly suspected a murderer, she wouldn’t dare to lead the way.
He knew that Sophie most likely had other thoughts.
However, that wasn’t important, to each their own needs.
“Search again.” Song Si went straight towards the upstairs, there was still one room that hadn’t been checked during the day.
He was quite interested in Ye Qingdie’s bedroom.
Whether something could be found or not didn’t matter, after the search, he would find an excuse to take people away.
Five people headed upstairs, Ye Qingdie glanced at Xu Mo, who lowered his head as if he had agreed to something.
Ye Qingdie and Xiao Qi followed them up.
Sophie still stood outside the tavern, her gaze towards Xu Mo brimming with coldness, all she needed to do was watch the drama from here.
Given her understanding of the Law Enforcement Team, they were bound to take someone away today.
Ye Qingdie would not escape, that cheap woman.

“You think the Law Enforcement Team will let you go?” Sophie sneered, though she left one thing unsaid, even if Xu Mo had done nothing.
“Of course not,” Xu Mo responded, “Did Miss Sophie go to the Law Enforcement Team to inform on us?”
“Yes,” Sophie responded; what could Xu Mo do even if he knew?
Xu Mo had a bit of a headache; in that case, many people from the Law Enforcement Team knew.
“Miss Sophie,” Xu Mo called out, making Sophie feel a bit strange; why was Xu Mo still so polite to her, shouldn’t he be angry and afraid?
She looked at Xu Mo, only to see his eyes suddenly shine with a strange light as he said to her, “Is there a possibility…”
“Miss Sophie’s guess is right!”
As the words fell, the door to the small tavern closed by itself.
