“Bull! What retribution! I am certain it was you who caused this!!” People in the ancient days all have some respect for the deities. Mrs. Gu’s viciousness immediately toned down a few notches.
“Oh? You are cussing at the deities. How do you think the deities will punish you for that? You think they will yank out your tongue? Mrs. Gu, you better watch out when you go to bed tonight. Eh? It’s only September, why was there a cold breeze and felt like a winter storm was quickly arriving? Yin Mei shuddered and looked over. The hall master looked like he was about to unleash his fury, but yet, if one searched hard enough, one would also be able to find a trace of tenderness. What was going on with the hall master today? Yin Mei tried to anticipate his master’s mind and took a guess, “Hall Master, would you like me to go take care of that mean woman?”

She was so angry she tossed and turned in bed that night, not able to fall asleep.
Tonight, the moon shone like a stream. Ling Juechen stood in a dark corner inside the courtyard and watched the small and scrawny body sneaked out of the bedroom after her brother had fallen asleep. She stopped suddenly in her steps and her sharp eyes scanned the backyard.
Ling Juechen chuckled to himself: Oh, this girl was still very vigilant. Nevertheless, he was the one who taught her every trick that she knew directly or indirectly. There was no way she could detect him being there!
