“We managed to incorporate all the runes into the cooling system, bringing it to the zero-degree level we wanted. Thank you for opening our eyes to such a profound solution,” Inaki said, smiling at Klaus.
He and his sister were genuinely grateful for Klaus’s help, which, of course, led them to the decision they were about to make.
Anaki and Inaki knelt in front of both Queen Lunara and Klaus, surprising them.
“What are you two weirdos doing?” Queen Lunara asked, staring at the twins. This was a rather usual behavior coming from them.
Hearing her question, they just smiled and focused on Klaus.
“Please, Klaus, we want to become your disciples/students and learn Rune Magic from you,” Anaki said, and her brother nodded.
Klaus, who was on the receiving end of their request, smiled because he had already calculated this situation.
One downside to his Hivemin was that he could make all kinds of predictions based on every small, probable observation.
When he was drawing the runes a few days ago, he saw the reverence in their eyes, and he knew they would make a request like this. Not that he was mad or anything at their sudden request.
“You two do know I am not a rune master, right?” Klaus asked.
“We do. However, we still want to become your disciples or students. Either one is fine, as long as you will teach us rune magic,” Inaki responded.
“Very well. But while I would be lying if I said I can teach you everything, the most I can do is help fix your problems, like I did with the cooling system.”
“However, that is just for now. Perhaps in the future, I will gain the means to teach instead of just helping with complex problems.”
Even Klaus was puzzled by how he was able to help them, so while he knew how to draw runes, he didn’t have the passive understanding to enable him to teach them.
“We are okay with that,” both Anaki and Inaki said, making Klaus nod.
“Very well, I will take you as my students,” Klaus said. The two smiled and bowed three times, despite Klaus telling them not to.
“Now that we’ve got that out of the way, can we get going?” Queen Lunara asked, causing the twins to shrug and open a hangar, where the sleek, bullet-shaped spaceship came into view.
They had used dark blue paint, so watching it sit ominously in the hangar made Klaus smile, knowing his Mars mission was a go.
“The distance from Earth to Mars is estimated to be 140 million miles. Thankfully, the ship can travel up to 1.5 million miles per hour, which means your journey will take four days at most.
However, the Void drive allows the ship to jump 12 million miles forward every two hours.
So, factoring that in, and other variables, you will reach Mars in under a day or a day and a half, depending on how fast you’re traveling.”
“Can we select how fast we want to go?” Klaus asked.
“Yes. The ship is operated by an AI called Kiki. She uses deep learning to understand the changes in space and know when to go hyperspeed or ultra-hyperspeed.
But of course, you can tell her to go at any speed you want. Also, when in space, you can ask Kiki to give you a view, during which the ship will turn transparent for you to see the outside space.”
“That is great, then,” Klaus said before turning to Queen Lunara.
“Are you ready to leave?”
She nodded. Klaus turned to the twins, and they gave him a nod before commanding the ship.
“Kiki, time to leave Earth,” he said. The ship responded with a low hum as the engines powered up, and a nanotech-operated door opened.
Klaus let Queen Lunara enter first before following.
“Then see you when we return,” the twins waved before the door closed. Inside the ship, there were two chairs made of the most comfortable leather.
However, that was just on the pilot side.
The rest of the ship had an open space with a comfortable resting chair that could fit three people, along with a view that, when the ship turned transparent, allowed them to sit and watch outside.
The inner design looked simple yet elegant.
“Hello, I am Kiki, and I will be your pilot and assistant for this journey. Kindly sit and strap in. Once we enter hyperspeed, you can unstrap and explore the rest of the ship.
Also, if you need anything, you can ask me anytime.”
A hologram of a lady appeared on the dashboard, where the controls were supposed to be. Klaus and Queen Lunara nodded to her words and strapped in.
The moment they did, the lights inside dimmed as the ship began to rise. Since the hangar did not have a roof, it ascended above it and soon was in the air.
All over the military base, everyone was watching the elegant ship rise into the air and slowly disappear into the sky until it was lost from sight.
It took just a few minutes to break through outer space and escape Earth, speeding into the distance within a second. This rapid speed kept increasing as the seconds ticked by.
Inside the ship, Klaus and Queen Lunara were still strapped in, watching as the speed rose from the thousands and slowly entered the millions.
“We are entering hyperspeed in 3, 2, 1…”
Before Klaus and Queen Lunara could feel anything, the speed exploded, reaching 1.3 million miles per hour.
They didn’t feel anything aside from a gentle pull that went and came in under a second.
“You can now unstrap and relax. I will inform you of any changes.” Klaus and Queen Lunara unstrapped and walked to the seat that looked rather comfortable for resting.
They sat down, and a few minutes later, the ship entered ultra-hyperspeed. The speed exploded to 1.5 million miles per hour.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Anaki and Inaki were now seated, breathing a sigh of relief as they tracked the various numbers showing on their screen.
They were all green, indicating the ship was indeed perfect and ready to be mass-produced. They looked pleased with what they had achieved.
“Off to the next one, I guess,” Anaki said, pressing a button on her watch. The ground shook and opened, sending them slowly flying down.
After falling for close to 12 km, they appeared in a large lab, where three humanoid robots were hanging in the air.
One had arms made of a blade. The material used seems rather durable, considering just looking at it shows it can cut through anything.
The second held a bow that, at a glance, showed it would fire energy-based arrows like human archers.
The last is much taller and holds a colossal axe in its hand. Looking at the three robots was enough to say that even at their current state, they could rival the Overlords and Grand Elders.
And now, the twins gain a rather sick enlightenment from reading Klaus’s runes, meaning they are just getting started.
“This must be done in 4 months. Since we have the runes, creating a fusion core shouldn’t be too taxing. We must have something to show Master Klaus when he returns.”
The heavens clearly didn’t expect to see something like this, especially when an evolved machine beast was soon coming to Earth with their master.
