“The Yin-Yang Tribulation has seven forms,” Pickle Berry said.
“For these two young ladies to pass, they must conquer all seven. Of course, since they are two people taking on the same tribulation, it will be much more dangerous.”
“Does this mean this type of tribulation can descend on just anyone?” Klaus asked, looking toward the clouds. The cloud formation showed something powerful was about to descend.
However, he wasn’t concerned about that yet. His focus was on something else.
“The Yin-Yang Tribulation can indeed descend on anyone. However, only those who have a light affinity or a darkness affinity usually have to deal with it.
“Of course, there are cases where those with other elements had to fight against the heavens because of this Yin-Yang Tribulation.”
“I see,” Klaus nodded and turned to his left, where Queen Lunara was now seated in a lotus posture, waiting for the tribulation to begin.
Pickle Berry had indeed said the laws would benefit her if she were to comprehend the life and death laws surrounding the two ladies up in the air.
Asha, who was clenching her fists, clearly panicking even before the tribulation descended, turned to Klaus.
“Klaus, are they going to be okay?” she asked with a panicked expression.
“Don’t worry, they’ll be fine. It’s just a tribulation—no need to worry about it.” He brushed her hair, assuring her.
“I just can’t afford to see them suffer,” Asha said, but Klaus just smiled.
“Don’t worry. With me here, nothing will happen to them,” Klaus reassured her again. Pickle Berry, however, turned to Klaus and raised her cute brow.
“I hope you’re not planning on entering their tribulation,” she asked.
“Of course not. After all, I am not their master, so entering would be akin to bringing doom on them. But like I said, with me here, nothing will happen to them.” Klaus laughed.
“The heavens are useless in my presence,” Pickle Berry smiled, knowing what he said was true.
He had indeed made the heavens cry blood on thousands of different occasions in many lives, so helping two ladies become Void Stage beings wasn’t something to worry about.
“It’s about to start,” Klaus’s mom, who chose not to poke her nose in Klaus’s business, said, making Klaus and the two ladies standing on his left and right hold his hands.
“Linx and Jinx, relax and take on the tribulation like it’s another Tuesday. Trust me, when you’re done, you won’t fear anything or anyone ever again,” Klaus said to the twins up in the air.
They nodded and then retrieved their weapons. Jinx took out two daggers while Linx unsheathed her sword.
They may be Yin and Yang, but one is an assassin and the other a swordsman—a very powerful one, considering Linx had already awakened an innate ability, unlike Jinx, who hadn’t yet.
“Be ready, Linx. It’s coming,” Jinx said to her sister, who nodded and started channeling energy into her sword.
Suddenly, the clouds parted, and a loud roar shook the skies. The wind stopped. The world went quiet.
From the swirling clouds above, a massive beast descended. Its body was made of black mist, with glowing white eyes that pierced through the storm.
It had no legs—just a long, coiling body like a serpent. Sharp claws extended from its arms, and each breath it took made the air heavier.
“The first form,” Pickle Berry whispered. “The Beast of Balance. To kill it, they must understand balance. This means they must feel each other’s energy and sync it.
At the point it is synced, that should be the moment they attack.”
“But the beast won’t stand there and watch them form the sync. I wonder how they will handle it,” Klaus said, gazing at the creature up in the air.
The creature let out another roar. With it, a powerful shockwave spread out, shaking the trees and cracking the earth. Lightning danced around its body.
The air turned colder, as if it had both Lightning and Ice elements, when in fact, it was just pure killing intent coming from its roar.
Klaus’s blood running through their veins clearly pissed off the heavens so they are showing how much they want them dead.
Linx and Jinx stood in the sky, facing the monstrous form with calm expressions. The beast growled, then lunged straight at them.
Like Klaus said, the beast wouldn’t just stand and watch, then plan its death.
Jinx moved first.
Her daggers glinted as she vanished in a blur. Linx didn’t move. She raised her sword and closed her eyes.
She was listening—feeling.
As someone who is akin to Yang, she knew what had to be done, and since she was connected to her sister, one of them could just go against the beast while the other focused on the kill shot.
The beast struck, but Jinx appeared on its back, slashing deep into the misty flesh. Her blades, coated in her own energy, left a faint silver light behind. But the wound healed instantly.
“It regenerates,” Jinx shouted, dodging the beast’s tail swipe. “Normal attacks won’t work!”
“I know,” Linx replied, opening her eyes. They glowed faintly whitish-blue. She raised her sword, and a ripple of sword intent surged out.
The beast turned toward her, sensing danger.
It charged, mouth wide open. Jinx, of course, prevented it from gaining momentum by blocking it with a powerful attack that created countless daggers in the air and shot them at the beast.
On the other hand, Linx moved.
One step forward.
One swing.
A deep, clean line split through the sky. It was sharp like a sword arc. However, this was thin and deadly.
The beast stopped mid-charge.
At first, nothing happened.
Then, its mouth closed. Its eyes dimmed.
The mist that made up its body began to scatter, as if sliced from the very core and then dispersed into two streams of tribulation runes entering Linx and Jinx’s bodies.
Jinx landed beside her sister.
“How did you kill it?” she asked.
“I understood the balance,” Linx replied softly. “It was made from yin and yang. I found the line that kept it together and cut it.”
Jinx smiled. Though they are sisters, Linx is stronger and more intelligent than her. But that was why she knew with Linx by her side, everything would be fine.
The heavens shook again. The clouds twisted faster, darker. The second form of the tribulation is on the way.
“One form down,” Klaus said with a smile. “Six more to go.” He looked up, his eyes serious. “I wonder what they have in store for them next.”
