Jiang Nanshu frowned.
They had been living peacefully for three years, so why had Miss Zhao suddenly attempted to kill Xu Xingwan?
And so blatantly at that.
Jiang Nanshu subconsciously felt it wasn’t Miss Zhao.
But Xu Xi said it was found out by Bao Yan’s side.
So she made a call, and Xu Xi quickly answered, “Jiangjiang, I’m here.”
Jiang Nanshu got straight to the point, “Where did you get the news from?”
Xu Xi chuckled, “Weren’t you making a statement at the police station last time? I was quite worried about you, so I kept an eye on the progress of Xu Xingwan’s case, and the latest news is from the police. Bao Yan knows as well. I don’t know how he’ll deal with Miss Zhao. After all, she is his wife and carrying his child.”
Jiang Nanshu thought that made sense, even if Bao Yan loved Xu Xingwan, he would still take a step back when it came to his own interests.
Xu Xi’s voice was laced with regret, “Ah, it’s a pity, Wanwan is still so young.”
“She used to say she wanted to be a TV hostess with me, but she didn’t even finish university.”
Jiang Nanshu made no comment, “It’s their own choice. In the face of absolute power, it’s hard to be free.”
Perhaps this was the result of incompatible family backgrounds.
In front of Bao Yan, Xu Xingwan had always been the weaker party.
So she chose to yield because it was too exhausting to fight.

Jiang Nanshu wasn’t concerned about Fang Minghe shortchanging her. After all these years, the Fang Group was still using her advertisements, without having hired a new spokesperson.
The five-year-old ad campaign was due for an update.
Later, when Lu Qingyan got off work and came home, Jiang Nanshu told him about it.
Lu Qingyan looked at her with a smile, “If you want to go, go ahead. What would you like to eat tonight? I’ll cook it.”
Jiang Nanshu looked around in confusion, “Where are the housekeepers? Why do you have to cook?”
Lu Qingyan, wearing an apron, slowly explained, “They’ve taken leave. I will be cooking for you during this time.”
Jiang Nanshu didn’t think much of it, since Lu Qingyan’s cooking was just as good as the housekeepers’, if not particularly more delightful.
Lu Qingyan fried all Jiang Nanshu’s favorite dishes, and since Jiang Nanshu didn’t cook, she helped wash vegetables by his side, making the kitchen atmosphere warm for a moment.
Lu Qingyan was making crispy meat, carefully controlling the heat, while talking to Jiang Nanshu, “We should go back to the old house for dinner tomorrow. Grandfather and my parents are all there.”
Jiang Nanshu looked up, “Ah? Visiting your family?”
Lu Qingyan glanced at her calmly, “We’re already married. Now it’s just about discussing the wedding. Never mind them, I’m just going to inform them.”

“Your father…”
“If you don’t want to come into contact with his illness, we don’t have to sit with him,” replied Lu Qingyan.

Especially since Lu Mother was so adamant, and had even caused a scene a few days ago.
Lu Qingyan looked at Jiang Nanshu and smiled, “As long as I like you, that’s all that matters. Why care about anyone else?”
After things smoothed over with Lu Qingyan, Jiang Nanshu felt that this was what domestic life should be like.
Arguing only caused them both to drift apart.
Hearing Lu Qingyan’s confession made Jiang Nanshu’s face heat up, “Okay then.”
The two had a simple dinner.
Lu Qingyan then placed the dishes in the sink to wash them.
Jiang Nanshu stood at the doorway, watching him with eager eyes.
A scion of wealth cooking and washing dishes, Jiang Nanshu had never seen such a sight.
“Where did you learn to cook?” Jiang Nanshu asked, leaning against the doorframe.
Lu Qingyan didn’t look up, “Do I even need to learn? I got it after watching a few times.”
Jiang Nanshu: “…”
Some things are truly a matter of talent.
And Lu Qingyan had that talent.
He was incredible at everything.
While Jiang Nanshu was clueless about all this.
She touched her nose, “Go ahead and wash, I’m going to shower.”
“Mm,” he responded lightly.
Half an hour later, Lu Qingyan finally returned to the room.
Jiang Nanshu was looking at the calendar on her phone, realizing that nearly a month had passed since she woke up, and her period hadn’t come at all.
She could only remember that her last period was on the 25th, and the current date was nearing May, making her period three days late.
Lu Qingyan glanced at her but said nothing.
After coming out of the bathroom, Jiang Nanshu was still frowning.

“I… I think my period is late.”
Lu Qingyan thought it was something else and chuckled as he ruffled Jiang Nanshu’s hair, “Don’t worry so much, we always take precautions.”
“But… you didn’t last time.”

Lu Qingyan took out an ultra-thin packet from the bedside table, “Let’s try again.”
Jiang Nanshu: “…”
“We’ve already done it many times yesterday, let’s rest today.”
Lu Qingyan embraced her, his hot breath on Jiang Nanshu’s neck, his voice slightly hoarse, “I can’t take it anymore, help me out.”
