Until the noise outside had disappeared, Su Ran had collapsed onto the bed, exhausted.
Her tense emotions relaxed after about half an hour.
Suddenly, a muffled thunder sounded outside, silver lightning tore through the sky, and heavy rain fell with immense force.

As she shivered under the covers, she suddenly heard a knocking at the door. Su Ran was so frightened her hair stood on end. She threw off the covers, and although the light above her head was on, the thunder outside still made her feel a chill.
The knocking outside continued.
Then, it was followed by even more forceful kicking.
Su Ran asked, trembling, “Who is it?”
“It’s me! Open the door.”
Hearing Yuan Feng’s voice, Su Ran froze.
Shouldn’t Yuan Feng have run away with Jiang Leyi by now? Why was he still appearing at her hotel door?
She got out of bed and ran to open the door without even putting on shoes.
Yuan Feng burst in, grabbed Su Ran by the neck with force, his eyes bloodshot, “Where is Jiang Leyi! You said it was done, where have you hidden her? Where is she?”
Su Ran was so shocked by his words that she ignored the strength of his grip on her neck: “What are you talking about? Wasn’t Jiang Leyi taken away by your men… with a large suitcase?”
“It wasn’t me!” Yuan Feng shouted furiously.
He flung Su Ran aside and then grasped her shoulders with both hands, demanded urgently, “Who took Jiang Leyi away? Who!”
Su Ran had no idea that there were others interested in Jiang Leyi and suddenly panicked: “What should we do… I thought it was your men who took her away, a group of delivery riders in uniforms, dragging a large suitcase, they took Jiang Leyi away… What if she dies?”
