Jiang Leyi arrived at the door to Jiang Nanshu’s room.
Raising her hand, she knocked. After about ten seconds, the door opened.
“Why have you come over?”
It was Jiang Leyi’s first visit to Jiang Nanshu’s place. The room was somewhat smaller than hers. She frowned, “Nannan, why don’t you move over to my place? The ventilation in here isn’t very good through the window.”
“It’s not that much trouble. I’m only staying for half a month before leaving, and you’ll be here for a bit longer than me.”

“What did you want to see me about?”

Lu Qingyan stood tall and lean, a khaki bag slung over one shoulder, wearing a brown trench coat. His hair was tousled by the wind, revealing his full, smooth forehead.

Jiang Nanshu launched himself into his arms, “Hmph, why didn’t you tell me?”

Jiang Nanshu reached out to him, her bright eyes full of pride, “I might, depending on how sincere you are.”
Lu Qingyan lifted his hand, and a diamond-studded crescent moon necklace landed above her delicate hand, “For you.”
Jiang Nanshu stared into Lu Qingyan’s eyes, somewhat disbelieving, and pointed to herself, “For, for me?”
“Mm, I saw it at an auction and thought it was pretty, so I bought it. Do you like it?” he replied softly.
Jiang Nanshu’s hand closed slightly, feeling the coolness in her palm.
She smiled, tiptoed, and placed a light kiss on his lips, “I really like it. I love you so much, my dear.”
Lu Qingyan felt as if his heart had been seared, and it was burning.
“What did you call me?”
Jiang Nanshu’s face flushed, her eyes darting around, too embarrassed to look at him, and she stammered, “I, I see other couples call each other ‘baby,’ ‘my dear,’ so I wanted to try it. If you don’t like it, I can change it.”
[How embarrassing. I wish I’d never said it.]
Seeing her somewhat flustered and adorable panic, his heart melted into a puddle of water.
“I really like it. Could you say it again?”

“Here.”

He leaned down and kissed her, pushing her into the room as he embraced her waist.

He glanced at Su Ran, seeing her standing by Zhou Yanbai’s side, her face pale as she looked at him, but he quickly averted his eyes.
With a cool demeanor, he greeted Zhou Yanbai, “What a coincidence, President Zhou.”
