Madam Cheng stood up sharply, shielding her son protectively, though a large part of this situation was caused by her own son’s doing. But was Jiang Nanshu hitting someone not wrong as well?
The medical expenses were entirely paid by the Cheng family, their son was injured and hadn’t gained any advantage from it; it was infuriating!
The Jiang Family had settled the issue quietly, without even offering any compensation as a gesture.
Jiang Nanshu took refuge behind Jiang Jingcheng, only half of her body showing, her fair hand nervously clutching the fruit basket, her eyes filled with guilt, “I heard you had woken up, and I specifically came to visit you. I didn’t expect that I would be so strong when frightened; to have hurt you this severely, I’ve been restless these nights because of this incident.” She paused and blinked, “How is your leg? Can you stand up?”
Hearing the word “leg,” the corners of Cheng An’s eyes turned bloodshot.
The hospital had told them to prepare for the worst— even if he recovered, he would become a cripple, and he would no longer be able to engage in strenuous activities because the knife had damaged the soft tissue in his knee. There was only a ten percent chance of a full recovery.

Cheng An roared out loud, Madam Cheng felt heartbroken; even if she caused trouble for Su Ran time and time again, it was all in vain. Everything was because of her son’s unrequited love, but the person who truly hurt him was Jiang Nanshu. Her heart flared up with anger along with him.
Jiang Jingcheng’s gaze was indifferent, his voice calmly stating the facts, “If Young Master Cheng had thought more about the consequences before acting, perhaps he wouldn’t be lying in bed now, but would be serving time in prison instead.”
Cheng An clenched his hand into a fist on the blanket.
Jiang Nanshu gave a light cough, his look feigning an apology, “Cheng An, let me tell you some good news, I’m with Brother Qingyan now. You can go after Su Ran, at least fulfilling that love in your heart.”
Madam Cheng suddenly raised her voice, “If you dare see that bitch again, I’ll have someone kill her!”
Cheng An’s complexion turned ugly, his lips pressed tightly, clearly unwilling to heed discipline.
Jiang Nanshu was so scared that she completely hid behind Jiang Jingcheng.
