Standing atop the Reincarnation Platform, Li Muyang frowned in silence.
He wanted to reveal his identity as an Ascendant to the fox.
But after a long contemplation, Li Muyang ultimately chose to keep the secret.
“Indeed, I carry another secret, but I cannot tell you, senior. I’m sorry, as it relates to the very foundation of my being.”
Li Muyang apologized solemnly and explained.
The enormous fox gave him a deep look and did not continue to inquire.
It changed the subject of its own accord, saying, “The ‘Reincarnation Record’ is one of the six greatest treasures of The Peaceful Realms, having existed since the inception of the world. It is a Holy Artifact born from nature endowed with tremendous and mysterious power.”
“Much like the ten Immortal Artifacts in the Human World.”
“However, in the great war that occurred ten thousand years ago, four of the six greatest treasures of The Peaceful Realms were destroyed, leaving only the ‘Reincarnation Record’ and the ‘Yin Life Book.'”
“And of the ten Immortal Artifacts of the Human World, only eight have been passed down to later generations.”
“These Innate Sacred Artifacts, born at the beginning of the world, are the cornerstones of the world, possessing great power, fundamentally different from the Magic Artifacts crafted by the people of later generations.”
“Magic Artifacts crafted by later-generation Cultivators might match them in power momentarily, but they cannot withstand the erosion of time, and all Innate Sacred Artifacts have their special mighty powers.”
“The ‘Reincarnation Record’ can trace the past lives of all beings, anchor their current life, stabilize and suppress souls, as well as expel and banish them.”
“Yet this mighty power is discounted when facing the beings from the Human World, for the creatures of the Human World only have this life, with no afterlife.”
“Hence the ‘Reincarnation Record’ can only anchor and suppress your present life, but is incapable of expulsion and banishment…”
Upon saying this, the fox stared indifferently at Li Muyang, and said, “But you can be expelled and banished by the ‘Reincarnation Record,’ which is truly odd. Do you have a past life?”
“Er… this…” Li Muyang was stunned for a moment and then realized that the image on the ‘Reincarnation Record’ that exactly mirrored his pre-transmigration life was indeed depicting his past.
He was at a loss to answer this question.
But the fox did not press him further.
It glanced coldly at Li Muyang, and before he could reply, it turned and walked into the depths of the mist.
The path of blooming lotuses appeared once more at the edge of the Reincarnation Platform, extending to Li Muyang’s feet.
Seeing this familiar scene, Li Muyang immediately followed.
The gigantic fox, slowly spoke in the midst of the mist.
“This Reincarnation Platform was a Magic Artifact constructed by the ancient gods of The Peaceful Realms, governing life and death reincarnation, with a total of three thousand seven hundred and sixty-nine platforms, connected to the ‘Reincarnation Record,’ and under its command.”
“But when The Peaceful Realms perished, the Reincarnation Platforms were mostly destroyed, barely one in ten remained, and then during the great wars in the Human Realm, the surviving platforms were smashed by the Immortals of the Mortal World, leaving only this one that I quietly took away, preserved until now.”
“The Netherworld Saint Spirit exiled you to the Reincarnation Platform probably unaware that you have met with me.”
“But it makes little difference now, I can send you back to where you were before you were exiled, but you can’t catch up with that Saint Spirit creature.”
“And even if you did, you couldn’t stop it; you would simply be exiled once more.”
“Let what happens to Yu Chan be, let it be.”
“If she becomes the Ghost Moon Fox, it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Everything is predestined.”
Amongst the mist, the enormous fox continued forward indifferently.
Li Muyang, stepping on lotuses, followed closely.
The old fox’s words had revealed many secrets.
Unlike the cryptic person of before who hesitated to speak, this time upon meeting Li Muyang again, the old fox revealed these ancient secrets without any reservation.
The vast amount of information made Li Muyang frown.
He looked at the old fox’s massive figure and asked, “Senior, what purpose does the Netherworld Saint Spirit have to take Yu Chan away? What good does making Yu Chan the Ghost Moon Fox do for that monster?”
Both man and fox continued to advance in the mist, and the old fox, without turning his head, said, “The Netherworld Saint Spirit is not something good, but neither is it something bad.”
“Its thoughts, often even I can’t see through.”
“I can only tell you, don’t think too poorly of it; its taking Yu Chan away may not be with any conspiracy against her, perhaps it simply wishes to save a clansman of the younger generation.”
“Of course, you shouldn’t think too highly of it either.”
“During the great war ten thousand years ago, it watched the whole event indifferently, not making a move.”
“But the clues I’ve found can prove that the ultimate path to an irreconcilable end for both realms has much to do with the quiet fanning of the flames by this creature.”
“Anyway, you should return to the Human Realm first.”
“Yu Chan being by the side of the Netherworld Saint Spirit might be safer than by your side.”
“At least those Demon Cultivators wouldn’t dare to capture someone from the side of the Netherworld Saint Spirit.”
In the mist, the enormous fox once again led Li Muyang to the front of the colossal bronze mirror which was a thousand zhang high.
Upon seeing this bronze mirror, the old fox stopped in its tracks.
It gasped somewhat wearily and then said, “The Netherworld Saint Spirit coming to the Mortal World is an ill omen.”
“That being has descended upon the land twice, once here and once next door. It was repelled by the Immortal Artifact Masters here, and next door it encountered an extremely terrifying Sword Cultivator and was grievously injured.”
“The failures of both descents made it never dare to approach the land again.”
“But now, it has risked coming here just to take away a clansman of the younger generation, indicating that, in its eyes, this land is no longer safe.”
“I have an intuition that the Mortal World will soon experience unrest, and it will be the kind that sweeps across the world.”
“You, lad, be careful when you traverse the Mortal World in the future. Furthermore, if you have things to do, better hurry, as it may be too late later.”
This time, the old fox gave a rare reminder to Li Muyang with the tone of an elder caring for a junior.
But the warning it gave made Li Muyang’s heart tremble.
