The judges became busy after the ten players had finished performing.
“Is it really necessary to add up? The girl has to be the winner.”
“Yes, she definitely is. I’ll go talk to the judges if she isn’t the winner.”
“Whose kid is she? Her parents must be so proud to have Ouyang Shanshan as the guest singer. I had never dreamed of see a diva in a singing contest like this.”
“Yeah, I heard that Ouyang Shanshan’s appearance fee was no less than two million. God knows how much she has changed this time.”
“You’re such a snob. It’s not about money because Ouyang Shanshan would never do it just because of money. How about I give you two million and you invite her to sing a song with me?”
Although the judges didn’t let out of their final decision, everybody had already known it. Surel, the winner would be Tang Tang. She was a nice singer by herself, and she cooperated with the diva Ouyang Shanshan very well. The two are a perfect team, performing flawlessly.
Ouyang Shanshan’s fans in the hall would go rioted if the winner was not the little fellow. So no judge would take that risk.
The judge’s result came out soon enough. The chief judge went up on stage to announce the final ranking of the contest today. The little fellow was the winner just like everyone expected. Wang Guan might have earned lots of scores because of Cao Beibei’s reputation, but he was still in the second position.
Wang Guan immediately burst into tears after he heard the result. He pulled Wang Hongbing’s hair and yelled, “Dad, I can’t do this. You said I can be the winner as long as I join the contest because I am one of the Wangs, then why did I win the second prize and why is Tang Tang the winner?”
After that and before Wang Hongbing could speak, those audiences sitting next to him started to blame them.
“That’s the best you can have, and why are you still not satisfied? You wouldn’t win the second prize without Cao Beibei’s help.”
“That’s true. I don’t know how you made your way into the finals with that singing skill of yours…”
“You might have Cao Beibei as your guest, but she had Ouyang Shanshan. The two weren’t even a match. Why are you still complaining?”
“You’re no better than her in singing, and your father failed to invite a better guest than hers. You can stop the comparison…”
Those blame and criticism really embarrassed the Wangs. They left the contest in a fluster before the award ceremony started.
But their leaving seemed to carry little weight on the exciting mood in the hall. The audiences rushed up on the stage before Ouyang Shushan and the little fellow went off the award stage. They surrounded the two firmly. It was so chaotic that Ouyang Shanshan had to keep the little fellow in her arms.
Several reporters with cameras on their shoulders rushed to the front and seized this rare opportunity to interview Ouyang Shanshan.
“Miss Ouyang, I’d like to ask you how much you’ve been paid for being here as the guest singer of a child? Is price high as heaven?”
The reporter’s question roused other people’s interest because they thought Ouyang Shanshan would definitely seize the opportunity to make a fortune, considering the level of the contest.
Ouyang Shanshan was used to the kind of scene, so she replied calmly, “You misunderstood. I am here today because of friendship. I didn’t charged any penny for this.”
“What? Not penny? How’s that possible?”
The crowd went noisy again. The reporter continued, “Miss Ouyang, it’s said that your appearance fees are more than one million. What brought you here to be the guest singer of a kid for free?”
Before Ouyang Shanshan could answer, another reporter who looked curious added, “Miss Ouyang, this little girl looks so beautiful and you two simulate each other so much. Is she your untold daughter?”
Other stars would just go mad when asked this question, but Ouyang Shanshan looked very calm, and she said, “We looked like each other because we’re all very beautiful. I don’t see any other thing we shared in common. I am not lucky enough to be her parent. She already has her parents.”
The little fellow added, “Tang Tang has Papa and Mama.”
After she said that she raised her chubby hands and pointed to Qin Haodong and Lin Momo.
In that way, all the attention had been caught by Lin Momo and Qin Haodong. People saw the perfect couple standing together, and thought to himself that no wonder the girl was so beautiful, her parents were all so good-looking.
Ouyang Shanshan took the opportunity and walked to Qin Haodong under the protection of Chen Fugui and others. She gave the little fellow in her arms to him.
Qin Haodong took over Tang Tang and said, “Thank you for your help today.”
Ouyang Shanshan said, “We’re too close to thank each other and plus, I should thank you first.”
Her words were sincere and from the bottom of her heart. Qin Haodong felt she was right, too. But that had roused the interest of those reporters, and they wondered what’s the relationship between Ouyang Shanshan and the handsome guy.
“Miss Ouyang, can we ask, what is your relationship with this gentleman?”
“We are good friends.” Ouyang Shanshan answered.
“Just friends? What kind of friend deserves such a big favor of yours?”
“First of all, this is not a big favor. Moreover, we’re actually very close friend.”
Ouyang Shanshan knew that those reporters would never let go of this easily and it would take too long. The more she said, the more the gossip will rise. So, she said good bye to Qin Haodong after she said goodbye to Qin Haodong. Then she left under the escort of Fugui and other bodyguards.
She didn’t know that even so, a gossip spread quickly across the Internet, and occupied the headline of the entertainment part of some small websites, saying that the big star Ouyang Shanshan had already had an untold daughter.
The contest was over. Qin Haodong and Lin left with the little fellow. They didn’t go home directly, and instead, they went to a western restaurant to celebrate.
The family was very happy because the little fellow was the winner of the singing contest. Qin Haodong ordered many dishes of delicious food, and Lin Momo ordered a bottle of red wine.
After filling their glasses, Lin Momo raised hers and toasted to Qin Haodong, “Thank you so much for what you’ve done for Tang Tang. You’re a better parent than me.”
Qin Haodong said, “Why would you say that? I’m his father, and that’s what I should do.”
Lin Momo went silent immediately. Qin Haodong’s words reminded her of the night five years ago when the man gave Tang Tang to her and then disappeared. She had never heard from him ever since.
She sighed, and thought to herself that maybe this man was God’s compensation for her. He was outstanding, and was nice to Tang Tang, even nicer than her real father.
Qin Haodong seemed to have read her mind. He said, “Come on, let’s drink.”
Lin Momo raised the glass and tossed it off. It seemed that she was trying to swallow the bitterness from the past with the wine.
The little fellow was eating her favorite fruit salad. When she saw the two drinking, she raised the drink in her hand and said, “Papa, Mama, I want to drink like that, too.”
Qin Haodong filled the two glasses again and touched the little fellow’s glass. Then he said, “OK, let’s celebrate for Tang Tang. She was the winner today and will be a big star in the future.”
The three drank the toast. Then Lin Momo’s phone started ringing.
She answered the phone and asked Qin Haodong with a confused face, “The Feng’s Group’s raw gemstone exhibition center was sealed up, are you related to that?”
Lin Momo was quite surprised when she heard the news. The Feng’s Group was quite influential in Jiangnan, and it barely impossible that it would be sealed up. She knew Qin Haodong went to the Feng’s Group today, so she asked that when she heard what had happened.
“Mostly.” Qin Haodong said. Then he told what had happened today, at last he added, “Now the case had come clear. The Feng’s Group had no idea about those drugs. They may suffer some loss, but it’s no big deal to them. That’s a pity.”
“That’s good enough.” Lin Momo was touched when she knew Qin Haodong go face the drug dealer’s guns and Meng Tie’s bomb for her. Her eyes were steamy.
She took a deep breath and said, “Thank you.”
Qin Haodong said, “What for? You’re my woman, Tang Tang’s my daughter. Those are all what I should do as a member of the family.”
The little fellow was chewing steak, and agreed with what Qin Haodong had said and said, “Yes! Yes! We’re family!”
Lin Momo was so satisfied when seeing her daughter’s happy face, and she knew it was the man in her eyes that brought all this to her.
She asked again when thinking about the contest today, “You didn’t tell me how you invited Ouyang Shanshan. It’s impossible for a big star like her to take part in the kids’ contest like this. What’s she to you? Why was she willing to help for free?”
Qin Haodong looked at her with an intriguing look and asked, “What? Are you jealous?”
“No, I’m not. I said I would never ask anything much as long as you’re good to Tang Tang and me.” Lin Momo said, “I’m juts curious, why would Ouyang Shanshan help Tang Tang?”
“Because she’s one of the clients of the Daddy Security Company.”
Qin Haodong briefly told her how he helped Ouyang Shanshan.
“Daddy Security Company?” Lin Momo laughed out loud and said, “I don’t even know how you came up with that name for a security company.”
“It’s nothing new. I established the company to protect you and the little fellow. It turned out the name was quite a lucky one because the business has been running well since it was started.”
Lin Momo’s eyes went steamy again when thinking about how much Qin Haodong had been doing for her and the little fellow, however; she didn’t say thank you this time. She reached out her small fair hand and took Qin Haodong’s big hand.
Qin Haodong was overjoyed because he saw hope. He whispered, “Momo, my house is in fitment finish today and I have nowhere to go tonight. Can I stay here?”
Lin Momo did not say a word, but she nodded after a short hesitation.
Qin Haodong almost jumped out of excitement. He had been waiting for this moment of joy for so many days. Finally, he could share the bed of his woman.
