“Hehe, brother Ah Fei, we meet again!” After cleaning the battlefield up, the leaders of the four major guilds gathered around Jiang Fei. By then, the boss’ body had already disappeared so nobody but Jiang Fei could tell if the boss had dropped any Territory Orders in the end.
“Hahaha, you’re all beasts in combat!” Jiang Fei managed a smile. He had not yet completely snapped out of the awe-inspiring large-scale grand battle.
“Hehe, these trifling skills are not worth mentioning…” Billy Boy laughed.
“Looks like you really did a number on The Aristocrats!” Jiang Fei sighed. At least 20,000 players lay dead. Their equipment lay discarded and scattered around them. Only God knew what had spilled out of their backpacks. The higher-ups of The Aristocrats may have escaped through the use of a Return Scroll, but compensating for tens of thousands of average equipment would still put a dent in a tycoon like Happy Drunk!
“Most of it is rubbish, only some greens to note…” Southern Azuresword shook his head. Neither he nor Daemon’s Grimace had managed to loot much. What little they got were mediocre at best, and it did not please them. However, the Bonnie and Clyde pair of Magithieves had already claimed most of it, and it was not something they intended to get involved with. Jointly attacking The Aristocrats had ironically ruined the chance of an alliance between the trio. If The Aristocrats obtained the Territory Order, Dawnlight City would be under the ruling of two major powers. This did not completely take them out of the running, but life would no longer be as pleasant. If Happy Drunk had not managed to get the Territory Order, the first guild to be destroyed would be The Aristocrats. But the biggest losers would be Daemon’s Grimace and himself. They would be reduced into subsidiary branches of Magithieves, or they would be recruited and inducted into their ranks altogether!
However, even if that happened, Southern Azuresword and Daemon’s Grimace could do nothing about it. If they allowed Happy Drunk to freely develop his territory after getting the Territory Order, the remaining three guilds; Magithieves included, would all fall within Happy Drunk’s domain, sooner or later!
The only way they could get out of this was to get lucky and obtain Territory Orders of their own. Otherwise, they would be bound to fall thrall to either The Aristocrats or Magithieves!
“Little brother, I’m not going to beat around the bush with you. Just tell me straight up, did Happy Drunk get the Territory Order?” Lady Casanova demanded.
“Yes, yes, he did!” Jiang Fei bluntly replied.
“Phew…” When they heard the news, Southern Azuresword and Daemon’s Grimace could not help but breathe a sigh of relief. If Happy Drunk had obtained the Territory Order, it only meant that they stood at the right side. Now, they could stand with Magithieves against The Aristocrats. This was the best alternative!
Otherwise, it would be equivalent to them digging a pit then jumping into it. The Magithieves would eventually swallow them whole!
“Yeah!” Southern Azuresword and Daemon’s Grimace were relieved, but Lady Casanova and Billy Boy had their brows furrowed together.
If Happy Drunk had not managed to get the Territory Order, Billy Boy would not hesitate to delay the development of his guild. Then, while the three major guilds got lost in conflict and bad blood, he would take advantage and utterly decimate The Aristocrats. The remnants of Southern Azuresword and Daemon’s Grimace would end up as fresh meat on his chopping board, to be sliced and diced any way he wanted!
Now, that beautiful prospect would remain as it was — a prospect. Not only could he not cut down Southern Azuresword and Daemon’s Grimace, but he had also been forced to join forces with them — as equals. Otherwise, The Aristocrats would fester and consume them like a nuke.
“Why don’t we just march into the city and kill him?” Lady Casanova asked, frowning.
“That won’t do!”
Although Billy Boy was belligerent, he still had a semblance of rational thought. At their current level, the NPC Guards in the city would butcher them alive. If things got out of hand, they might even have serve some jail time!
“So what, just watch them grow like Jack’s Beanstalk?” Lady Casanova pouted dejectedly.
“We really need to give this more thought!” Billy Boy shook his head.
“Brother Ah Fei, we have some business to attend to, so don’t you mind us. If you get anything good in the future, remember to think about me!”
After all, Lady Casanova and Billy Boy were lovers. The face of Billy Boy could tell anyone that something was up, but they could not quite put their finger on it.
“Oh please, don’t let me hold you up!” Jiang Fei nodded. The battle earlier on had sent him into a trance. He did not even have any time to see what treasures the boss had dropped. The last thing he needed now was to be distracted by affairs that did not concern him!
One glance was enough to send him into shock. No wonder that Ou Leba was a Leader Boss. Including the Territory Order that Happy Drunk had claimed, the boss had dropped a total of six items!
Demon Aegis (Offhand: Shield, Quality: Epic)
Physical Defense +105
Magic Defense +90
Blocking Chance +10
Vitality: +20
Equip: 5% chance to withstand a physical attack facing the front of the shield!
Equip: Grants the skill —- Demon’s Harbourage. Lifts the shield and reflects an incoming ranged magic attack! Skill lasts for 3 seconds, five-minute cooldown.
Required Level: 20
The first thing that caught his eye was an Epic-Tier Level 20 shield. It came at the right time, as it allowed Jiang Fei to replace his Level 15 Blue shield. This Epic shield only had three lines of additional attributes and was not really rare, but it added 20 Vitality and a five percent chance of completely nullifying physical damage!
Moreover, the additional skill of the shield was a great Player Killer. Mages would not know what hit them! It was common practice for mages to attempt building distance between the two of you before sending a massive fireball flying your way. Imagine lifting up your tiny shield and sending it right back at them. How fun would that be!
He put the shield on before moving on to the other items.
Thief’s Secret Letter (Quest Item, Quality: Average)
Use: Trigger a quest.
The second item was a letter. After Jiang Fei accepted the quest, he was directed to hand the letter over to the City Guard Commander of Dawnlight City. It was probably a quest that involved some rewards involving the Leader Boss.
Jazz Dance Doll (Toy, Quality: Excellent)
Use: Showcase your best dance moves.
“Interesting…” Jiang Fei could not help but click it. Suddenly, his body started swaying uncontrollably. Jiang Fei, the inept, clumsy kid with a retarded motor control system had instantly turned into a professional Jazz dancer. Unfortunately, he was in the wilderness, and no one was there to admire his wild dance moves!
“Damn, how do you stop this thing?” After dancing for more than two minutes, Jiang Fei started panicking. He subconsciously clicked on the Jazz Dance Doll again. His character immediately pirouetted and bowed to an imaginary crowd before him. That was the finale!
“This is fun!” Jiang Fei was interested. This was a toy, not a piece of equipment. It did nothing to increase a player’s combat effectiveness. Even so, it was still classified under the Excellent quality. If it had been a Low quality, it would be great. He could have brought it into the real world!
