This was not the first time Jiang Fei had pretended to be someone authoritative. He was most convincing indeed!
“Ah?”
Luna stared at Jiang Fei blankly, clearly startled.
“Big brother, Luna does not speak the Ancient Elf language!”
Wei Weian said to Jiang Fei with her eyes wide. Apparently, the common Elf spoke a modernized, simplified form of the language. Only the royal family and the aristocrats continued to use the Ancient Elf language in the Elven Court. A military guard like Luna would never have the opportunity to learn the Ancient Elf language.
“Bah!”
Jiang Fei rolled his eyes. He had wasted his energy. His actions had been akin to trying to flirt with a blind person who would not be able to notice anything whatsoever.
“The Ancient Elf language? Why do you speak the Ancient Elf language?”
Hearing Wei Weian’s words, Luna was thoroughly shocked. Such a respectable tongue was not even accessible to the higher-ranked elf.
“You do not need to know how I am able to speak the Ancient Elf language. All you need to know is that I had saved Wei Weian!”
Since he had started off with such a guise, Jiang Fei had no choice but to keep it up until the very end.
“Alright! Master!”
Luna quickly became far more respectable towards Jiang Fei. She was merely a low-ranked guard. Normally, she would not even have the opportunity to be in contact with high ranking elves who spoke the Ancient Elf language. Against such an authoritative Jiang Fei, she could not help but feel like she was facing an aristocrat who deserved fear and respect.
“Luna, let us go home!”
After narrowly escaping with her dear life twice, Wei Weian truly missed home.
“Alright, Wei Weian Your Highness, we shall begin our journey immediately!”
Luna nodded to Wei Weian before turning to bow towards Jiang Fei.
“Your Excellency, this is the reward we have prepared for you! In fact, the Elven Court owes you a favor. If you any request, you may raise it. As long as we are capable of fulfilling it, we will try our best!”
“Ding! The task of the Missing Elemental Elf has been completed!”
“Ding! You have obtained 2,250,000 Experience Points! You have obtained 500 gold coins!”
“Ding! Congratulations to player Verdure Glider for reaching Level 27. All Attribute Points +1 and Five Undistributed Attribute Points!”
Having single-handedly completed the epic task, he had received all of the rewards on his own. This allowed Jiang Fei’s experience bar to quickly shoot up. His level had increased to 27, and he was far ahead of all the other players.
“I do have a request! I need some Elemental Water!” Jiang Fei said directly.
“What? The Elemental Water?”
Luna looked at Jiang Fei in surprise.
“Yes!”
Jiang Fei nodded.
“Master, although you have rescued Her Highness Wei Weian and our elf clan is heavily indebted to you, the Elemental Water is a divine object belonging to the Elven Court. It is not something a mere guard like myself can decide on. I need to report this to Her Royal Highness the Queen!” Luna chose her words carefully.
“That is well! I shall go with you to the Elven Court then!”
Jiang Fei thought for a moment before speaking. He would not allow Luna to leave right away. What if they do not keep their promise?
“Yeah! Big brother, are you coming home with Wei Weian? That is great!”
After Jiang Fei spoke, Luna did not say anything else. On the other hand, Wei Weian could not rein in her excitement. Jiang Fei had rescued her twice. Now, the little fellow seemed to have taken a liking to Jiang Fei.
“Uh… alright! Your Excellency, please come with me!”
After hesitating for a moment, Luna decided to bring Jiang Fei back to the Elven Court. Under normal circumstances, even lower level elves could not enter the Elven Court, much less human beings, but Jiang Fei was a special case. Firstly, he had rescued Elemental Elf Wei Weian. Secondly, Jiang Fei could speak the Ancient Elf language. He must have some deep connection to the elf clan. That was why Luna had dared bring Jiang Fei back to the Elven Court.
The way to the Elven Court was not easy. One must first teleport to the elf clan’s Emerald Town. This was where all of the Elves gathered. Dawnlight City was the main city connected to the other four main cities, each owned by a respective clan. In Dawnlight City, each corner had four towns, which were the Elf clan’s Emerald Town, the Human clan’s Aurum Town, the Orc clan’s Honor Castle and the Spectre clan’s Everliving Garden. All of these surrounded Dawnlight City that stood in the center.
Players were born as the lowest of the low in each of their own clan. The Elf clan’s players would naturally be the lowest ranking of all Elves. The Human players were commoners. The Orc clan’s players were lowly fighters. The Spectre clan’s players were Freshly Awakened Entities. In their own clan’s regions, they were limited to the towns. Through tasks or other methods of improving their status, would they eventually gain access to the town’s Teleport Portal to enter the divine land in each of the clans.
Jiang Fei now had the permission of the Elf clan, which was why he was able to enter the Emerald city through the Teleport Portal and reach the elf clan’s divine land of the Elven Court!
“Your Excellency, we are arriving at the Elven Court soon. As you are the only Human that has appeared in the Elven Court in three hundred years, please do not move around as you wish or do anything that might cause offense. This is to avoid any unnecessary trouble!”
Before the portal opened, Luna advised Jiang Fei.
“I understand!” Jiang Fei nodded. His motive was to obtain the Elemental Water and not cause any trouble.
As the portal opened, a white light flashed before Jiang Fei’s eyes. In the next second, Jiang Fei had appeared in the Elven Court!
“Phew…”
When he laid eyes upon the legendary Elven Court, Jiang Fei could not help but suck in a breath of cool air.
This was a truly magnificent town. It was bustling with life. The entire Elven Court was built on a humongous Tree of Life. In other words, the Tree of Life was the mighty Elven Court itself!
The size of the tree was indescribable. The crown of the tree was as over ten kilometers. The branches of the Tree of Life curled up together to form the city walls. While walking on the branches that were a few ten meters wide, Jiang Fei did not feel like he was standing on a tree at all. The ground was just as unyielding and stable as that of any other actual town square.
As they passed through the city gates, Jiang Fei followed Luna into the inner part of the Elven Court.
“Hehe, big brother, it is beautiful here, is it not?”
Wei Weian looked very happy to be home. She flittered around Jiang Fei’s head for a while. Sometimes, she would land on Jiang Fei’s shoulder, and at other times on his head.
Wei Weian’s fondness of Jiang Fei had caught Luna’s attention. However, she was but a lowly guard. If not for the agreement between the four big clans which restricted the higher-ranked members of each clan from entering the main city of adventurers, the vital mission of escorting the Elemental Elf back to the Elven Court would not have been assigned to a low ranked military guard such as her.
“Adventurer, Your Excellency, please wait here. I shall bring Her Highness Wei Weian to meet the Queen Her Royal Highness. I believe that Her Royal Highness the Queen would meet you promptly!”
As Luna had brought Jiang Fei here herself, she dared not bring Jiang Fei directly into the court. She could only have him wait outside.
