[Gitan’s POV]
As soon as Luo Meng Yao and Seimei Guren announced the name of the upcoming Luo Clan head, everyone started chattering around busily. Most of the lower nobles, like myself, were angry at how it wasn’t Ying Yue who got the position but some random boy who came out of nowhere. Thanks to that, our preparations for bringing our sons were wasted!
At that moment, I felt a cold wave brush my skin, making me turn to the one called “Will” involuntarily. He had his eyes closed and was in a deep frown. Goosebumps crawled on my skin as I looked at his figure, as quiet and still as a peaceful lake. However, the pressure he exuded was on par with a god-tamer!
His energy should definitely be around the 5th level at most. He shouldn’t be able to intimidate me, who had 7th-level powers. However, despite that, even the famous 8th and 9th-level mercenaries nearby were sweating bullets. This is definitely not normal!
When the boy opened his eyes, I flinched. His sharp gaze swept once around the place, as if evaluating everyone, before letting out a smile full of confidence.
“My name’s Will. Everyone, it’s nice to meet you.”
His words echoed loudly in the quiet space. Although it was just his introduction, his voice contained enough pressure to make it hard for me to breathe. Even my son was already gasping for air. I felt faint from the pressure, and before I noticed, I was down on one knee. The weaker ones ended up fainting, but that’s beside the point. Just a single sentence was enough to neutralize almost everyone around!
*BANG!*
A loud sound echoed, surprising me and everyone else around. My heart was beating furiously, as if it wanted to jump out of my chest already.
After that, the new clan head seemed to be talking about something, but honestly, it didn’t register in my ears. I was so focused on fighting back the invisible pressure that I had no time to listen to his speech at all.
Finally, the pressure let off, making it a lot easier to breathe. Looking at the new clan head, who was called Will, he was already walking away while he had two women in each hand. The one behind him was looking around, giving death glares to those who wished to recover their dignity after being forced to kneel. That girl was abnormal too, since despite her being in the 4th stage, the pressure she exuded was almost at the 7th stage.
I shook my head, realizing that this man who came from nowhere wasn’t one to look down on. However, I smiled at the same time. He seemed to be a womanizer, so it should be easy to let my daughter into his circle!
With that as a plan, I quickly pulled my still-out-of-breath son and a few other town mayors that were close to me. We rushed to the hall where Will was staying. As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm!
As soon as we entered the door, I involuntarily gulped.
At the farthest end of the hall, a tall throne was placed. Sitting in the middle of it was the same boy from before. However, his atmosphere right now is several levels higher. The three girls from before were all over him, which proves my initial assumption that he was a womanizer. A smile naturally crept into my face.
“Greetings, new Luo Clan Head, Will. I’m the mayor of a small town on the south strand, Yamamura Gitan. Here is my son, Zen. We came here to pay our respects.”
I said my introduction in a single breath, trying to earn his interest even a bit. However, he suddenly looked surprised as he muttered.
“Fatty Zen…”
I quickly looked at my son, who was called that by the other kids back in our town. However, he looked confused, as if he didn’t even know why Will knew his name. My son quickly shrank back after seeing the vicious grin on Will’s face. 𝑜𝘷𝑙.𝘰𝑟𝑔
“Yo, don’t you remember me?”
When he said this, the atmosphere completely changed. The previous pressure he exuded was already at the level of a god-tamer, but now it felt like several of them were gathered and releasing pressure at the same time.
I could barely gasp for air. The others I brought with me, and their sons, were all having pained expressions as they opened and closed their mouths to breathe.
“I’m Cloud. We had fun a lot of times before, remember?”
When he muttered these words, my son visibly shook. Then his face turned blue as his teeth clattered. However, due to the pressure pressing down on us, he couldn’t express a single word. He could only try to move in panic and fear, as if wanting to run away.
“Well, I’m a changed man now. I even changed my name. So, let’s just let bygones be bygones after this one move.”
As he said this, he gently patted the hair of the wolf-like woman resting between his legs. The girl opened her eyes, a strange glint appearing in them before she waved her hand.
Black smoke flew and covered my son instantly. There wasn’t even a moment to guard against it. As the smoke vanished, my son plopped down to the ground, completely unconscious.
“Priestess Harumi, take that fatty to the medical room. If he survives, then let him go.”
When he muttered so, a figure appeared from behind the throne wearing traditional Miko attire. She waved her hand, and my son floated, quickly moving to where she was.
“W-Wait!”
I shouted in reflex.
“What did you do to my son?!”
As soon as I raised my voice, Will looked at me. One of his eyebrows raised as he spoke clearly, word for word.
“You’re his father, right? Then you should be the one covering up for all the bad deeds he did. I guess you need punishment too, Fang.”
As he signaled, the black-haired girl sent another dark cloud in my direction. As my vision was covered in complete darkness, I heard Will’s voice from beyond.
“[Nightmare] isn’t as deadly when used against tamers. Just pray to your god that you and your son survive this.”
My foolish son, just what sort of monster did you provoke?
After that, my consciousness faded.
