Chapter 873 - 873: God of Lightening?!

Crackling thunderbolts flashed across the heavens, loud enough to shake the mountain’s stone.

Below, other cultivators who had climbed the mountain gasped in alarm. Some screamed. Others began running down the slopes.

“The mountain’s cursed!”

“No, it’s a tribulation cloud! Someone’s about to summon Heaven’s Wrath!”

“Run! Whoever it is, they’ll drag us all into it!”

Within moments, the entire mountain began to empty.

Only Elder Jill remained, standing not far from the glowing boy beneath the tree.

Her fingers trembled, and she gritted her teeth.

“No… this isn’t a tribulation,” she whispered. “It’s… it’s him. It’s Kent.”

She turned toward him, eyes wide.

His body was now hovering slightly off the ground. Sparks raged around his limbs. The earth beneath him had blackened into glass from the heat and energy. His robes whipped madly, and his face, serene yet wild, looked almost divine.

He was channeling the entire mountain’s lightning energy.

“How is this possible?” she murmured. “This… this isn’t just cultivation. He’s resonating with the mountain itself.”

Suddenly, a loud thud echoed beside her.

She jumped.

A streak of silver and gold landed before her, flattening the surrounding grass with a gust of wind.

It was Sparky, the child lightning dragon—a beast born of cloudfire storms, Kent’s earliest companion and guardian.

Sparky’s electric scales glimmered with flashing runes, his eyes filled with both awe and urgency.

He stepped toward Elder Jill, his massive head leaning down to her level.

“Leave. Now.” he said firmly, his voice deeper than usual, laced with thunder.

Elder Jill blinked. “What? I can’t leave Kent alone—”

“He is not alone.” Sparky’s voice crackled. “He is becoming something else. His storm bloodline… it’s awakening.”

Lightning surged behind the dragon as he lifted his wing and gestured toward the trail. “Anyone who stays risks being torn apart by the wild lightning. Even I can barely stand near him when he’s like this.”

“But what will happen to him?” she asked, biting her lip.

Sparky’s glowing eyes looked toward the floating boy. “He’s not breaking through to a new realm. He’s not absorbing lightning. He’s commanding it.”

Elder Jill’s eyes widened.

“Go,” Sparky said again. “Trust him. He will return when the sky is calm.”

Jill hesitated—then, with a last look at Kent, she nodded and retreated down the path, heart pounding with questions and wonder.

Behind her, the sky roared.

Not in anger.

But in obedience.

The mountain’s ancient spirit had found a master.

And Kent was rising to meet the storm.

–

Times Passed like a creeping thunder and now…

The sky no longer roared—it screamed.

Thunder cracked with ancient fury as seven distinct lightning streaks split the heavens like blades. Each bolt was no ordinary strike, but a celestial beast formed of pure lightning, tearing down from the skies with the intent of striking a single figure: Kent, still seated beneath the ancient thunderwood tree, levitating and glowing like a divine being returning to the world.

The bolts didn’t strike all at once.

The first to descend was a violet wolf, its crackling fangs bared as it howled in the skies and smashed toward Kent. Then followed a golden eagle, wings wide like the sun’s embrace, screeching thunder. A blue tiger, a scarlet serpent, a white bull, a green lion, and finally, a black dragonling, coiled in silence, its presence alone pressing the entire mountain into silence.

Each beast was a force of nature, an embodiment of one of the seven elemental lightning natures: Void, Sunfire, Storm, Blood, Skyflash, Earthshock, and Abyss.

When the first beast struck, the entire Third Mountain quaked.

But Kent… did not burn.

Did not scream.

Did not even falter.

He raised his hands slowly, and with a calm breath, he channeled the energy straight into the tree behind him.

The thunderwood giant pulsed with ancient light, its thousands of branches lighting up like a holy constellation. Every leaf sparked, shimmering with divine glow as it absorbed and tempered the wild beastly lightning—then fed it gently into Kent’s body.

And then the real transformation began.

Kent’s skin glowed silver, then flickered with streaks of seven colors. His Storm God Tyrant Physique, inherited from the Storm God legacy, had long been in slumber. But now—it awakened to the laws of the Immortal World, reshaping and refining every inch of his being to match the energies of this era.

Every cell began to throb, absorb, and mutate.

Bones sang like bells struck by thunder. Veins became radiant circuits of lightning rivers. His heart beat once—and thunder echoed across the valley. It beat again—and lightning burst from every pore like miniature stars being born.

–

Down the mountain, those who had remained behind to watch, despite fear, now trembled in awe and terror.

“That’s no ordinary lightning,” a Grand Elder muttered. “Those beasts… they’re lightning incarnations. Tributes from the Heaven’s Storm Vault.”

“Is he summoning them?” a younger alchemist asked.

“No…” another whispered, backing away. “They came to baptize him.”

–

Even the beasts of the forest reacted.

Predators fled, whimpering as they dug into the earth to hide. Birds shrieked and fell from the skies, diving into holes and nests. Magical apes, shadow cats, and winged serpents all vanished into the deep underground, shivering beneath ancient roots.

The entire Divine Herb Forest was in retreat.

All except the plants.

Strangely, as Kent absorbed the lightning beasts’ power, a ripple of energy pulsed out from him. Herbs that had been calm or dormant now began stirring like sentient beings. Stalks twisted toward Kent. Petals opened wide, drinking in the thunderous air. Leaves curled upward like worshippers before a god.

They began to age unnaturally—not withering, but evolving.

A simple Sparkleaf turned to Thunderjade Grass. A dormant Boltroot pulsed and broke the ground to reveal its golden center. The prized Lightning Red Grass, rare and known to appear once in decades, began sprouting from multiple places—all bending toward Kent as if drawn by fate.

Elder Jill, still hiding behind a stone ledge with Sparky guarding her, could barely believe what she was witnessing.
