The Conspiracy of the Gods
In the vast expanse of the Astral Palace, the home of the Space God, a subtle darkness filled the hall. The translucent, starry dome above shimmered faintly, reflecting the tension brewing within. The Space God, draped in robes that glowed with the constellations, sat at the head of a long, celestial table. Beside him, his wife, an ethereal beauty with eyes that sparkled like twin galaxies, leaned forward with an eager yet cautious expression.
“I can’t believe you’re dragging me into this,” the Fire God grumbled, his flaming hair flickering irritably as he settled into one of the seats. “You’re asking me to go against the War God? Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?”
The Space God smirked, pouring a shimmering golden wine into a glass. “Dangerous, yes. But necessary. The War God is too close to ascending to the position of an Old God. If he succeeds, he’ll overshadow all of us for another century, maybe more.”
The Wealth God, a rotund figure adorned in glittering gold chains and gemstones, stroked his beard thoughtfully. “What’s this got to do with that mortal boy, Kent? Isn’t he just another pawn in the War God’s grand game?”
“Not just a pawn,” the Space God replied sharply. “Kent is the lynchpin of the War God’s plans. He’s already killed the Poison God. A mortal killing a god—do you understand what that means? If Kent continues to grow unchecked, he’ll be the War God’s strongest weapon.”
The God of Weapons, a stoic figure with a blade-like sharpness in his features, interjected. “I’ve seen the footage. That boy didn’t just kill the Poison God; he annihilated him. The nature itself turned against the Poison God. That’s not normal.”
“Exactly,” the Space God said, his voice laced with urgency. “Kent is not a mere mortal anymore. The tribulations he faced on Mount Meru? The evolution of that dragon under his care? Those are signs of something far beyond what we’ve seen in the Spirit World.”
The Fire God leaned back in his chair, his flames dimming slightly. “If Kent is this dangerous, then why not kill him outright? Why are we discussing alliances and interventions?”
The Space God’s wife finally spoke, her voice soft but laced with venom. “Because killing Kent isn’t as simple as it sounds. He’s protected by the War God, the Storm God, and even fate itself seems to favor him. If we act directly, we risk retaliation from the War God. But if we manipulate the 9 Realms War to destroy Kent and his allies, we can shift the balance of power in our favor.”
The Wealth God nodded slowly, his gold rings clinking as he tapped his fingers on the table. “So, the idea is to support the 9 Realms Association? Help Jason Mama and Emperor Ryon crush Madam Clark’s forces, and by extension, Kent?”
“Precisely,” the Space God said with a satisfied smile. “Madam Clark is already on the backfoot. Her army is in disarray. If we intervene, we can ensure her complete annihilation before Kent returns from the Spirit World.”
“But what if Kent survives and comes after us?” the God of Weapons asked, his tone serious. “The boy is unpredictable. If he managed to kill the Poison God, what’s stopping him from targeting one of us next?”
The Space God’s wife leaned forward, her eyes narrowing. “That’s why we act now, decisively. We’re not just targeting Madam Clark’s army. We’re ensuring Kent has no base, no allies, and no reason to fight us. By the time he realizes what’s happening, it’ll be too late.”
The Fire God sighed, his flames flickering back to life. “I still don’t like this. But I’ll admit, the thought of the War God ascending doesn’t sit well with me either. Fine, I’m in.”
The Wealth God chuckled, his eyes gleaming with greed. “If it means keeping my position secure and gaining leverage over the War God, count me in.”
The God of Weapons hesitated, his fingers tracing the hilt of the sword at his side. “I’ll join, but on one condition—when the time comes, I get to face Kent. I want to test his strength myself.”
The Space God nodded. “Agreed. But remember, our priority is destabilizing the War God’s influence. Kent is merely a means to that end.”
As the gods finalized their plans, the Space God stood and began pacing. “Here’s what we’ll do. First, we will send covert support to Jason Mama and Emperor Ryon. Magical artifacts, war supplies, talismans—anything they need to gain an edge. Our involvement must remain secret.”
The Fire God smirked. “And if they ask why we’re suddenly so generous?”
“Tell them it’s for the greater good,” the Space God’s wife interjected, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Those mortals will believe anything if it comes with enough power.”
The Space God continued, “Second, we will create internal strife within the Sworn Wizards. Spread rumors, incite rebellion among their ranks, and make it impossible for them to regroup. Without unity, they’re as good as defeated.”
“And Kent?” the God of Weapons asked.
The Space God’s expression darkened. “I’ll handle Kent. When the time is right, I’ll ensure he’s isolated and vulnerable. The boy may have killed the Poison God, but he hasn’t faced the combined might of us yet.”
The Wealth God laughed heartily. “I like it. A little manipulation, a little destruction—it’s what we gods are best at.”
As the meeting drew to a close, the Space God’s wife turned to her husband. “Are you sure this will work? The War God is not easily outmaneuvered.”
The Space God’s gaze hardened. “He may be strong, but he’s blinded by his ambition. As long as we keep Kent occupied and the 9 Realms War in chaos, the War God will have no path to ascend.”
The Fire God stood, his flames blazing brightly. “Then let’s get to work. This should be… entertaining.”
The gods dispersed, their minds filled with schemes and strategies. As they left, the Space God and his wife lingered, watching the celestial expanse beyond their palace.
“He’s dangerous,” the Space God’s wife murmured, her tone uncharacteristically soft.
“Who?” the Space God asked, though he already knew the answer.
“Kent,” she replied. “He’s not like anyone we’ve faced before. Be careful.”
The Space God smiled faintly, his eyes glinting with determination. “Don’t worry. By the time we’re done, Kent will be nothing more than a footnote in history.”
But deep down, even the Space God couldn’t shake the unease that crept into his thoughts every time he remembered the sight of Kent standing against the Poison God, defying the heavens themselves.
