Vision didn’t know how to react right away, but he felt something had definitely changed for the better after losing the bond he had with the Mind Stone!
“Notify everyone to gather up and also ask T’challa to lock Wakanda down! The enemy shouldn’t have gone far, and we still have a chance to recover the Mind Stone from them!” Steve said confidently. Since the Mind Stone was taken under his nose, Steve was determined to get the Mind Stone back!
T’challa was immediately informed about the news and then immediately put Wakanda under lockdown, deploying the Energy Barrier so that no one would be able to go in or out of the city! T’challa’s decisive action brought confidence for everyone as they thought that they had made a dire mistake by letting the Mind Stone fall to the enemy’s hands.
Naturally, Tony and Natasha also rushed towards the Monitor Room after receiving the bad news and immediately checked the surrounding area to search for the intruder. They knew that a person couldn’t just vanish out of thin air, nor could they appear out of thin air either! The security cams around Shuri’s research room were bound to catch the appearance of their enemy, and they had to find it!
But no matter how much they looked into the security feed, they couldn’t find anything wrong at all! Alas, something strange began to happen as soon as they started watching a specific time frame. According to Steve’s story earlier, Fake Wanda came and stole the Mind Stone, but in the security feed, there was no Wanda that took away the Mind Stone to begin with!
They only saw Shuri getting her job done, and the Mind Stone has been on the Robotic Arm since Shuri stripped Vision’s neurons from it, but it didn’t make sense. There was no way Steve, Shuri, and the other lied collectively.
“There is nothing wrong with the video, and there is no sign of tampering either,” Tony said as he checked the video once again.
“Is that your conclusion, Tony?” Natasha asked curiously.
“I don’t know, but what we see is not necessarily the truth either,” Tony said with a frown on his face.
“What do you mean by that?” Scott said as he turned back to his original height.
“Vision had explained earlier that the woman he encountered earlier defied all sort of common logic. We assumed that she has some kind of hypnosis ability, but what if it was something different entirely?” Tony said with a curious look on his face. “One thing though, Mind Stone gave Vision a mental resistance to some degree, but the woman still able to somehow turn off Vision’s alert! It seems whatever the ability that the woman has, it was certainly better than Vision’s mental resistance.” Tony said in one breath.
“If that really was the case, then her power probably projected something similar to 3D projection, but it was more realistic and deceptive that it looks real even on camera!” Tony said with a frown on his face.
Tony was a genius, and he reached this conclusion after hearing all the evidence he could get his hands on.
“I understand what you are trying to say, but this is just your assumption, and even if you assume that it was correct, there is no real evidence backing it up, and we still have no way of finding this woman!” Steve said solemnly.
“You are right, but from now on, we know that we can’t rely on our sight alone. Even now, I can’t be sure that everyone standing here is real!” Tony said solemnly. His word immediately changed everyone’s expression as they finally understood that they would have a rough time identifying themselves first!
Now that they had a hard time trusting their own comrades, they would have a hard time figuring out anything, let alone finding the enemy to get the Mind Stone back! Then again, the enemy could have used this opportunity to attack too! The Avenger was defenceless right now as they couldn’t trust each other.
Now that the enemy has successfully split them apart and stole the Mind Stone uncontested, no one would know what the enemy would do next!
Now the existence of the Mind Stone in the enemy’s possession created a foreboding problem that everyone knew wouldn’t end well. In the past, Loki used the Mind Stone to attack and almost destroy the Avengers, and now that the enemy was far crueler than Loki, there was no telling how much damage the Mind Stone would cause.
The Mind Stone could manipulate people’s minds, and only those that have experienced it themselves knew how terrifying it truly was! The only silver lining that they could think of right now was probably the fact that the Hulk wasn’t here right now. He lived in Asgard right now with Valkyrie, which was located outside of Wakanda.
But Dio somehow felt familiar with the enemy’s ability that Tony described. Somehow the enemy’s ability sounded like something he had already seen before.
Dio began to think seriously about the description that Tony had given. He knew that the enemy’s ability made it so people couldn’t distinguish between what was real and what is not real … Reality? Reality Stone?
Could the Aether have made its comeback?
Dio suddenly remembered the scene from the Avenger Movie that he watched a long time ago. He remembered that Thanos used the Reality Stone to trick Gamora and the Guardian of the Galaxy in Knowhere! This was Thanos’ way to secure Gamora and obtain the necessary information about the whereabouts of the Soul Stone!
The ability of the Reality Stone that Thanos showed in that instance was similar to the description of ability that Tony had concluded. Everything could become real in front of Reality Stone, and of course, it also worked the other way around!
