Silva flew right for the capital of the Elven Empire. He didn’t plan to stop until he made it to the capital. Because of the demon army, all the Elven army was pushed to the forest wall.
It would take them some time to understand why their forest wall was suddenly destroyed, what that creature was, and why it took down the demons.
Because of all those factors, the army would not be able to head back to the capital anytime soon. Silva estimated that they would first be in panic about the forest wall that was destroyed.
The entire army would have to stay at the border to watch and ensure they stopped any intruders who would want to take advantage of this, especially the demons themselves.
Because of this, Silva could fly unhindered with no one to stop him. Even if there was someone, at the speed he was moving, they would still not be able to stop him.
When he arrived at the capital of the empire, the elves set to protect the empire began firing magical cannons at him.
Massive blasts of explosive mana hurled through the air at a speed faster than sound. Silva had no idea this sort of thing even existed in the first place. He dodged in the air, avoiding all the cannon blasts as best as he could.
He didn’t attack the elves back because he understood the situation they were in. They were panicked, scared.
“Amber, I am flying outside your capital. I need you to tell the elves to stop taking shots at me,” Silva said, but he got no response from her.
His stomach churned when that happened. He had felt this just a few days ago—the same thing happened when the Dark Dragon was under attack.
Since he could not make it to her, he decided to try and talk to Drake. “Drake, where are you all?” he asked.
“Master, come quick,” Drake said, and the connection disconnected.
When Silva felt that, he didn’t care about anything that was going to happen. He shot for the castle close to the World Tree.
His wings flapped with as much strength as he could muster. A sonic boom followed as he shot toward the castle.
He flew past the cannons, and the elves could not follow his movements at all. He arrived at the castle, his feet touched the ground, and without even pausing for a second, he charged into the castle. He burst through the doors without stopping.
He could sense his guardians. He could tell they were close to the World Tree. He ran through the castle and used the same path they had used before to make it to the tree.
When he arrived right before the tree, he was met with a gruesome scene. On the ground were the mutilated bodies of several elves, their bodies scattered along the floor.
Some of the elves were old, and some seemed very young.
In the room stood a slim-looking man. He had pale white skin and crimson-red eyes. He had a sickening smile on his face.
His hands were covered in blood—his hands, his hands! In one of his hands was the hair of an unconscious Amber. This man held her by the hair and pulled it like she was a bag of potatoes.
Silva’s eyes widened in shock and rage when he saw this. His sword appeared in his hands. His hand trembled as he held the grip of his sword, his anger continuously rising.
“Master, please don’t rush in,” Drake said. Silva turned his head slowly, and he saw them—the guardians, his summons, Aaron, Lia, Quin, and Amber’s father standing there, but one of his arms had been ripped off.
“Master, that is a demon, but he is not like the other ones. He is different,” Drake said. He didn’t have the words to explain what this man was.
“Hahahaha, so you are the Dark Dragon?” the man suddenly asked, pulling Silva’s attention.
“Let go of her, now,” Silva growled in a low tone, his teeth turning into sharp canines.
“Why would I let go of her? I need her in order to get back the tree. I knew that Commander Zareth would surely fail to get the tree.
So I had to come myself. It was a fun trip, having to rip through unsuspecting elves and steal their identity,” the man said. He tugged at Amber’s hair more as he did, his sick smile widening.
“I said let go of her,” Silva roared.
“Why? You wouldn’t hurt a little kid now, would you?” the demon asked. His human form twisted and turned into a small elf child.
He looked at Silva with wide, pleading eyes before he burst into uncontrollable laughter. When he finally stopped, he looked at Silva and spoke, “I stole this child’s identity a few minutes ago.
What do you think about it? He will forever be a part of me, living and surviving in me,” the demon said.
“I don’t care. You can try whatever grotesque and twisted tricks you have, but they will have no effect on me. All I want is for you to let go of Amber,” Silva said.
“Oh, you are a tough one, but that’s not an issue. I was only trying to see what you are like,” the demon said and turned back to normal.
“Let us be honest. I am by far stronger than that Zareth. I don’t need my weapon to combat you in your current state.
You and I know that you are incapable of using that spell you used to create that creature again for a while. And even if you could, it would take a lot of time before it came, and in that time, I would have already killed her.
Anything you want to do now, I will kill her before you can save her. Don’t get me wrong—I need her for the tree, but I can find another way to get what I want. So what do you have to say, Dark Dragon?”
