What did the fifth princess see? Under rays of sunlight, Ling Chuxi leapt and more than ten golden needles glinted in her hand! In an instant, all the golden needles flew forth from her hand. There was a chilling flash of light!
A sharp sound pierced through the air as the golden needles shot towards the White Bellied Snakes. A gentle breeze blew just then, sweeping Ling Chuxi’s hair lightly. Her beautiful face contained a steady calmness that made anyone present unable to avert their eyes.
Ling Chuxi attacked without a moment of hesitation. Her strong might made the fifth princess stand rooted to the spot, stunned. She watched the scene unfolding before her blankly with eyes full of worship and obsession!
The White Bellied Snakes struggled for a bit before ceasing to move completely. Each snake had a few golden needles sticking out of different places along its smooth body, but each one featured a golden needle piercing its hearts. This was the main cause of their deaths.
“Yichen, go dig out the ore,” instructed Ling Chuxi before she turned to look at the fifth princess.
“Oi, spendthrift. Let’s go. I’ll teach you how to extract snake venom.”
Once Ling Chuxi finished speaking, Ling Yichen walked towards the rock to dig out the ore, but the fifth princess remained stupidly standing where she was. She was staring agape at Ling Chuxi without moving a muscle.
“Come on. What’s wrong?” Ling Chuxi stretched out a hand and waved it in front of the fifth princess. Only then did the fifth princess come to her senses. The moment she did, she leapt up in excitement and began shouting.
“You’re seriously too amazing, master! I have never seen anyone use such needles as weapons before and you used them so accurately! Please teach me, master! I want to be able to do so too! It’s too amazing. It really is!” The fifth princess bounced around, feeling excited beyond words.
Ling Yichen dug out the ore and heard the fifth princess exclaiming in delight behind him. To be honest, he was very shocked himself. He had seen many people’s weapons and hidden weapons, but he had never seen someone use the small, thin golden needles Ling Chuxi used before. Furthermore, she had used them in such an incredible manner. Was this the same weak and fearful Ling Chuxi who had weak cultivation skills? Ling Yichen angled his head slightly and looked over at Ling Chuxi who was busy teaching the fifth princess how to extract venom. Seeing her bright smile, Ling Yichen found himself shaking his head at her. No matter what surprises she harboured, that Ling Chuxi was still the same Ling Chuxi he knew and that sufficed!
Although danger lurked around every corner in Crouching Tiger Ridge, the combined skills of Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen made sure those dangers didn’t pose too much of a threat. The two secret guards who were shadowing them saw the displays of Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen’s skills and nodded their heads in acknowledgement. As things seemed, neither of them had to take any action as the princess’ safety was not a problem at all.
By nightfall, Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen had successfully gathered quite a lot of valuable items. Ling Yichen counted up an estimated value of the items they had in their backpack and nodded decisively. “It should be enough.”
“If it isn’t, we can just snatch items from other people at the last minute,” suggested Ling Chuxi casually as she turned a succulent roasted rabbit over the fire.
“That’s such a good idea. You’re truly a genius, master,” said the fifth princess as she looked at Ling Chuxi with a worshipful gaze.
“Of course. I, your master, have always been a genius!” exclaimed Ling Chuxi in response with a wide smile.
The cool façade of Ling Yichen’s handsome face kept crumbling again and again the more he listened to their conversation. What nonsense! How was that a good idea?! It was a horrible idea! He must find a way to correct Ling Chuxi’s bandit thoughts. This was all scar-face’s fault. Once they return to the academy, he must be sure to give scar-face a good beating to vent the hatred he felt towards him in his heart for daring to lead people astray as such!
At this present moment, scar-face who had just taken a drink of water, suddenly let out a loud ‘Achoo!” as he sneezed violently, spraying the water over all his teammates.
“Boss, what’s up? What’s happened to you? Did you suddenly catch a cold?” queried his teammates after they gingerly wiped the spat water off their faces.
