Gao Wentian walked through the hall and finally stopped at the corridor. Leaning against one of the pillars that lined the corridor, he raised his head to look at the dark sky. Even he did not know why he had made such a decision to give Lin Chuxi this favour. Perhaps it was her wisdom, perhaps it was her unruffled calmness, or perhaps it was her clear, sharp gaze.
‘Ling Chuxi, I hope you won’t prove me wrong.’

Gao Wentian did not go back on his word. In a mere two days, he sent someone to send the Tian Xing Grass to Ling Chuxi. After she said her thanks, she started to refine the pill. Today and tomorrow were both rest days. She would refine the pills today, and tomorrow she could let Ling Yichen breakthrough.
Alone at home, Ling Chuxi focused on refinining the pill. She was concentrating on watching the pill furnace and controlling the fire. The two conflicting herbs needed to be put in separately, and the herb used to neutralize them had to be put in between the two.
As he sat elegantly in a corner, Little White squinted slightly, watching Ling Chuxi concentrate. Such a serious Ling Chuxi had a hard to describe attractiveness.
The failure rate of the Tian Luo Pill was rather high. Though Ling Chuxi carefully and precisely controlled the fire, she still failed the first three times, due to the fact that it was her first time refining this pill. All the herbs in front of her were utterly destroyed.
Ling Chuxi did not get frustrated, nor did she panic, but rather, she became even calmer, analysing where the problem actually lay. Without her noticing, midnight quickly arrived. Throughout this time, Little White did not leave, not taking a step away from her side.
It wasn’t until midnight that Ling Chuxi finally managed to refine the pill. She was a little excited as she took it out of the furnace. Looking at the three pills in her hand which were emitting a thick fragrance, she immediately put the them into a small porcelain bottle.
Three pills. A total of three Tian Luo Pills. Two of them were of the lower tier while one was of the intermediate tier. Such an outcome was not satisfactory to Ling Chuxi.
She sighed, turning to look at Little White who was still by her side. A smile appeared on her face as she went forward to cuddle him.
“Little White, let’s sleep. Sigh, today I only managed to refine three pills after wasting so many herbs.”
Hugging him tight, she carried Little White to the bed. Her exhaustion made her too lazy to even wash her face.
Actually being able to refine three pills during the first attempt to refine a pill of such high difficulty… If a pill master saw this outcome, he or she would have already worshipped Ling Chuxi to the highest extent! Her skill was not explainable by the word ‘genius’, it was entirely an oustanding and somewhat odd talent.
And yet, she was actually dissatisfied, thinking that this outcome was a failure of refinement. With these two conflicting herbs, it was likely that no one in the world would dare to even attempt to refine them. Even if they steeled themselves to try, it would definitely not end well. But Ling Chuxi had actually managed to succeed the first time!
The next morning, Ling Yichen brought breakfast to Ling Chuxi. Seeing how tired she looked, he asked a little worriedly, “Chuxi, what happened to you? Didn’t you sleep well?”
“Yeah, kind of. I stayed up a little late last night, refining the pills. Oh, this is for you. In a moment, let’s find a place where you can take the pill and breakthrough. I will protect you.”
Grabbing the meat bun on the table and drinking the soybean milk, she then gave the porcelain bottle to Ling Yichen.
“What is this?” asked Ling Yichen uncertainly, uncorking the bottle.
A thick fragrance assaulted his nose. With a single sniff, he could tell that the item inside was definitely out of the ordinary.
“This is the Tian Luo Pill. You should eat the bigger one. That is the intermediate tier Tian Luo Pill which can assist you in your breakthrough. Even if you eat the other two small ones, they will be ineffective,” replied Ling Chuxi nonchalantly as she yawned.
A shocked Ling Yichen was barely able to properly hold onto the porcelain bottle in his hands and almost dropped it.
“What? Did I hear that correctly? Tian Luo Pill! This is the legendary Tian Luo Pill! The priceless Tian Luo Pill!”
