Lysairth let out a long sigh before making a few strange finger movements and turning into a ball of light that shot directly into the spots between Kana's brow. Kana, who had her eyes closed this entire time, had not even realized the ghost she was so scared of eating her had already entered her own body. "Dear, It's done; you can open your eyes now."
"Huh..." Kana slowly opened one eye and saw nothing in front of her allowing her to calm down slightly. But the words Lysairth had just said confused her. "Ummm… Hello?"
"I am right here, dear. You can even speak to me in your mind. I will be able to hear you since I am technically a part of you now." Lysairth explained, her tone very friendly and calming.
Unfortunately, her words did not sound friendly or calming to Kana. "Ahhh! I was possessed! Damn you, god! You sent me here to be possessed by some perverted ghost! She is going to eat me from the insid..."
"Can you stop with the perverted ghost thing! Check your mobility and tell me if you can not move everything on your own." Lysairth quickly raised her voice, causing Kana to stop her ranting and do as she was told.
Kana shook her hind legs, her front legs, her tail, flapped her wings, and even shook her little dragon butt a few times to see if anything seemed weird. "So umm… You didn't possess me?"
"Of course not. Dear… actually Do you have a name?" Lysairth asked.
"It's Kana..." Kana replied, still feeling a little weird to be talking to someone inside her head. Not realizing not too long ago, she was having full-length conversations with herself. But deep down, Kana was kind of happy to have someone to talk to who would answer her back.
"Now, isn't that a pretty name. Listen, Kana. I swear I will never hurt you. As my life has passed, I only wish to help you grow and survive. You do not have any parents or anyone else to guide you, right?" Lysairth's voice was soft yet soothing. Kana felt Lysairth sounded like a mother.
"No, I am alone..." Kana replied softly. Just thinking about the loneliness, she felt in her past life as she died alone in a pile of trash brought tears to her eyes. Her mother died when she was only seven years old, leaving her alone. She was kicked out of her house and forced to live a life on the streets. She had no parents and no one to turn to. For three days, she went without eating, roaming the streets until she couldn't take it anymore. She rummaged through a dumpster and found some moldy bread, which she quickly ate up. But she soon found out real quick that the area s in the city were split into territories, and she ended up being beaten black and blue for stealing from a dumpster that belonged to someone else. From that day on, she learned how rough the streets could be. At seven years of age, she began stealing from corner stores.
At first, it was just small things like packs of candy, but as she became more and more courageous, she began stealing whole premade subs and sandwiches. Of course, she was caught many times and even had her food stolen by others, but she continued on. For almost ten years, she survived by stealing, running away, and hiding. Doing what she could to survive. Some days she went without eating for three or four days. Her only saving grace was the water fountains in the park and the public restrooms. She basically lived out of one of the restrooms near a police station. She had some wits about her to not go anywhere that could spell danger. This mainly came from her easily frightened nature. Power was normally cut in the bathrooms in the park at a certain time, and without any lights, Kana would think she would get eaten by a ghost if she stayed in one. And because of a book she had once found in the trash that told horror stories about ghosts, one of the said stories was about a girl named Hanako. Since then, she had been easily frightened.
Thanks to Lysairth's reminder, she realized she was also alone in this world as well. That was until now, now that Lysairth resided within her. Even if Lysairth was not a physical entity, she was at least someone she could talk to. And from the way Lysairth talks, she was willing to help her understand this new world. "Ummm… Lysairth, do you really mean to help me?" Kana asked meekly.
"I swear to the Dragon Goddess Rilneas that I mean no harm to you and only wish to help you grow. Kana, you are probably the last of my kind. I have no wish to see my kind disappear from this world. Our fate has been too cruel.
"With me residing inside you, I can help you grow as fast as possible, not only that, but you will gain a special kind of system. Not only will you be able to level up and evolve as normal. But you will also be able to gain certain special attributes that will allow you to evolve into different kinds of rare dragon species. A normal dragon evolution path will only allow you to evolve by a dragon's attribute. Such as a fire dragon or water dragon. But by gaining multiple attributes and finding a special attribute, and combining them all, you can forge a new evolution line. This will allow you to evolve into higher tier dragons with power almost equal to that of the gods as your evolution process continues. Each choice you make as you evolve will determine how strong you are and what special attributes you will have to acquire. The only downside is that these evolution lines are much harder to achieve and will require a lot of work. What you do is up to you."
