Kana groaned. "Could you not have told me that sooner!?" She had just worked so hard to collect all this snow and fill the entrance, but now she had to knock it all down. Kana used her tail to smack the snow back down, all disgruntled and pouting.
"Sorry..." Lysairth felt a little guilty since she could have stopped Kana earlier but didn't. Mainly because a pouting Kana was also very cute!
Kana snorted and walked around in a circle a few times before finally lying down. She looked outside and saw the moon was now visible, and the sun was about to go down behind the mountain. "Okay, I will be starting."
"Good luck Kana..." Lysairth still had her worries since she knew she couldn't help Kana this time around. She will also be put into a slumber along with Kana as she evolves.
Kana brought up her status menu and clicked the evolution menu. And scrolled down to the last choice in the menu.
[Would You Like to Evolve into a Baby Moon Fire Dragon?]
[Yes] [No]
Kana took a deep breath and tapped the yes button with her claw. As soon as she did, another message appeared in front of her.
[Commening Evolution….]
Kana's eyelids suddenly became heavy, and before she knew what was going on, she fell into a deep sleep. Her body emitted a bright purplish red light that quickly formed an egg shelled cocoon around Kana.
Back at the base of the mountain, Ceilie looked up at the moon and then at the mountain ledge way up and bit her fingernails. "I hope things go smoothly..."
"I am sure Kana will be okay. If we need to, we will rush up there and save her no matter how cold it is!" Princess Tilia said with eyes brimming with determination.
"Mmm… I will be the first to rush up there. If Kana is going to die and I can not be there to protect her, then there is no reason for me to be alive. The only reason I am alive is because Kana came to my rescue. We started off as enemies at the time. I was actually a human, believe it or not. A human who hated humans. We both have a hate for humans. But Kana is very kind. Once she sees you as a friend, she will be there for you. To me, Kana is the only family I have, and we have barely known each other for a month now. Strange right?" Ceilie stood there staring at the cave; her cat like eyes could easily see the cave entrance.
"I am surprised you two have only known each other for a short amount of time. The two of you seem to be like sisters who have grown together since birth. But Ceilie, you said you were once human, then how!?" Princess Tilia really wanted to know how Ceilie was able to become a beast man when she was human.
"A special evolution option became available to me. It changed me into a beast man. A cat sith. It was probably the best day of my life when I came out of my evolution looking like this. I no longer needed to feel disgusted about my skin or my race. Maybe one day you will gain the same chance as me. Just don't ever betray Kana, and it just might be possible." Ceilie explained.
Princess Tilia's eyes lit up, hearing this. "If I can just level up quickly to my evolution... "
"You still have a long way to go. It would be best to learn some actual combat techniques. If you wish, I can try to train you a bit as we travel to the capital." Ceilie could tell Princess Tilia was sincere as she spoke. She was not joking around when it came to wanting to become a beast man. As such, she would not mind helping her learn how to fight.
"Then I will be counting on you then, Master!" Princess Tilia bowed her head towards Ceilie, making Ceilie feel awkward.
"Please, don't call me master… It feels weird." Ceilie really felt embarrassed being called master.
"Fine, I will stick with Ceilie… But Ceilie, can I ask what made you hate humans so much?" Princess Tilia asked. She could not stop her curiosity.
Ceilie looked at Princess tilia and let out a sigh. "Back when I was young..."
As Ceilie and Princess Tilia were talking, a figure appeared in front of the cave Kana was currently using. "Oh? Someone is here?"
The figure flew down to the ledge and landed quietly on the snowy surface. The figure looked around and was surprised to see a dense concentration of moonlight forming a beam towards the cave. "Hmmm? The moonlight seems to be gathering here."
The figure walked over to the entrance of the cave, making sure not to step into the beam of moonlight to find a purplish, reddish egg sitting at the end of the beam of moonlight. "Now this is interesting. To think someone would be undergoing their evolution here. But this egg is different from what they should look like. I wonder what species this is… But I must say this is quite dangerous to be doing your evolution without protection. Well, since I do not want to disrupt your evolution which means I can not gather my cold steel, then I will guard you until you are done."
The figure slipped into the cave, found a spot a little ways away from kana's egg, sat down, and closed their eyes.
