Almond opened the first page of the book and saw a circle with eccentric patterns that formed from a mix of curvy designs and edgy lines, ultimately forming a strange shifting illusion.
For one instant, he would see a whirlpool circulating with bending lines inside from those patterns, and in another instant, he would see an array of fangs.
Below this strange drawing were words that Almond quickly finished reading.
‘So I have to derive an understanding of sequences from this drawing to start the first stage of this Prana Art.’
The first stage was called the Maw of Awakening Embers and the book had five stages, corresponding to the five ranks Mortal – High Mortal – Immortal – Immortal King – Immortal Emperor.
Without further ado, Almond closed his eyes and brought out his consciousness before diving in, observing, and trying to comprehend the drawing.
Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, his first day came to an end without fruitful results.
Opening his eyes, he looked at the drawing and took a deep breath.
‘Damn, this is difficult alright. Soul Surge Art wasn’t this difficult, but I guess learning Immortal Emperor rank Prana Art makes the difference.’
Almond closed his eyes and went back to focusing on the task again.
Another day passed by, and then another, but he had yet to establish the first stage.
However, he managed to understand something, that propelled his progress.
Much like intent, the drawing had a unique concept to it, which he managed to comprehend and from then on, he unveiled everything.
Inside his Soul Avatar where his Prana Sea lay, he began constructing the Maw of Awakening Embers.
His Soul Avatar had gotten bigger and stronger, and it was the thing that confined the size of Prana Sea. Since he had already increased his Soul Constitution, he would be able to increase his Prana Sea.
Prana Art training was easier than Soul Art, so people over-cultivate their Prana Sea, making it squeeze into their soul avatar for power-up, even if minor.
However, no matter what, the value of the Prana Sea couldn’t be further apart from the value of the Soul Sea. After all, Soul Art increased one’s Soul Consitution, meaning the size and quality of Soul Sea and Soul Avatar while Soul Avatar dictated the limit of Prana Sea.
Almond finished constructing the Maw of Awakening Embers in his Prana Sea as a whirlpool with a hazy maw bearing fangs appeared at the center, ethereal and not taking any actual space in his Soul Avatar, but just existing in the middle.
‘Now, let’s start.’
Almond opened his eyes and activated the Maw of Awakening Embers.
In the next moment, the whole island trembled while the scenery set by the crystal also broke and shattered.
From all directions, a huge surge of wild Prana gathered towards Almond, whirling around him like a storm and getting absorbed into him.
“Crap,” Almond was dumbfounded and so were the other students who were on the islands as he also broke their sceneries.
However, it appeared that the academy had countermeasures against this kind of phenomenon, causing a barrier to form around Almond’s island.

Almond deactivated the Maw of Awakening Embers and stabilized himself.
His Soul Avatar was filled to the brim with hazy golden liquid, so much so that Almond felt bloated.
‘I guess I also over-cultivated it… accidentally,’ Almond wryly smiled as he inspected his status via the wristband’s scanning.

Prana Art had multiple uses. It didn’t just increase one’s Prana Sea.
First, Prana Art also aided in the conversion of Wild Prana into liquified Prana.
Without any Prana Art, the ratio was 1:1, meaning that to fill a Prana Sea of 100,000 Prana, he would have to spend 100,000 Soul energy to refine 100,000 wild Prana into refined Prana.
However, with the Prana Art’s function, which for him was the Maw of Awakening Embers, the ratio shifted drastically.
The ratio was different for the different ranks of Prana Arts, but Almond had the highest rank of Prana Art available on the second layer and its ratio was 1:10.
It meant that to refill 100,000 refined Prana in his Prana Sea, he would just need to spend 10,000 Soul energy on 100,000 wild Prana.
Moreover, he could absorb a terrifying amount of wild Prana in mere seconds given how that storm of wild Prana surged around him.
Aside from this, Prana Art also helped with other things, which differed for each Prana Art, however, they helped in increasing Body and Mental constitution by training.
But just as Almond was reading the second page which had clear sequences filled with specific concepts to them, he felt something strange within him.
From the Maw of Awakening Embers in his soul avatar, a cute and chubby creature emerged.
The creature came out of his soul avatar and dived into his soul sea before entirely emptying it and covering itself into a cocoon.
Almond blinked.
‘Could this be the so-called Spirit of this Prana Art? But it turned into an egg, so I guess I’ll have to wait.’
Almond was a bit excited to find out more about it and its uses.
But for now, he focused on the sequences.
‘So this one is about absorbing Wild Prana to refine the body from the foundation level. The method seems crazy, but I bet the result would be just as crazy.’
Almond focused on the sequence of Eternal Tapestry of Refinement, hoping to completely understand it and execute it in the next two days so that he could then enter Vitalis Crucible Tower to increase the progress faster.
