Chapter 340 – Freida’s History and Megicula
Dave put Freida on the sofa. She was still sober, but her eyes were red from nonstop crying.
Dave sat beside her with a confused look and asked, “Hey, what happened?”
He watched her for an hour without disturbing her. When she finally stopped crying, Dave decided to ask her.
Although he was an evil lord and not accustomed to caring about others, her pitiful appearance made him feel guilty.
Freida looked at Dave with an emotionless face, having calmed down.
She noticed how Dave had taken care of her and brought her inside, wiping her tears, making the place warmer, and putting a jacket on her.
“You’re a fool,” she said, gazing at Dave’s handsome face.
She had been attracted to Dave when she first saw him, and upon discovering his mysterious background and high position in the clan, she had planned to abduct him and forcefully make him act as her boyfriend.
She had no intentions of negotiating; she wanted to use force.
However, she underestimated Dave’s strength, and many of her plans were thwarted.

When she regained some clarity, she found her helpers who were with her had disappeared.
She had no idea what happened to her helpers, assuming they were already dead.
Just as she was about to attack Dave, he vanished, only to reappear kissing her.
To Freida, it felt like time had stopped or that Dave’s movements were too fast for her to follow.
Puzzled, Dave asked, “What? I am a fool?”
Freida nodded, confirming, “Your fate is now tied to me because of your carelessness. I only wanted you to help me escape my fate of marrying Winston, but you acted crazy and took advantage of me.”
She looked at Dave with an aggrieved expression and was about to cry again, but Dave stopped her and inquired, “What do you mean by that?”
Taking a deep breath, Freida calmed her emotions and began to speak seriously, revealing a dark truth about her existence.
“Hayss, to tell you the truth, before I was born, a prophecy was told to my father, the patriarch. The prophet, renowned throughout the entire immortal plane, owed my father a favor, so he told him the news to repay the debt. The prophecy foretold that I would be born with a curse, and anyone who sees my face will meet misfortune; they will die after six days.
“My father believed the prophecy, but my mother didn’t. She couldn’t accept that her daughter would be cursed. However, after I was born, my father was busy dealing with clan matters and didn’t show up, while my mother lovingly cared for me. Tragically, after six days, my mother committed suicide.”
“The maids who also took care of me died mysteriously after six days, and my father learned the news from his people whom he had left to check on us. He was shocked and saddened by my mother’s passing, but he didn’t hate me. Seeking advice from the prophet, he received the violet veil, crafted from Holy Light by the Holy Clan. It can suppress the curse as long as I wear it.”
“My father decided to keep this matter a secret from everyone to protect me from harm and discrimination. He had a hard time taking care of me, as I needed to wear the veil even as a baby. When I turned seven, my father revealed the truth to me, and I got used to wearing the veil. No one has ever seen my face, but despite that, many still coveted my beauty, leading some to attempt to remove my veil. Yet, none of them survived after seeing my face.”
She sighed, and Dave was stunned. The system didn’t notify him, indicating that the curse was ineffective against him.
The system would notify him if he were in danger or if a curse was implanted inside his body, so he was reassured that he was okay.
Freida spoke again, “Even though I know it seems hopeless to remove my curse, I continue to search for solutions. However, until now, I have not found a way to lift it. So, I can only hide my face from everyone to prevent causing harm.”
“Despite my hatred for Winston, I have never attempted to use the curse against him because every time someone dies from my curse, I feel a terrifying consciousness developing deep inside my soul,” she said, looking terrified at the thought.
It was her first time opening up to someone. The reason she had wanted to kill Dave earlier was due to her anger and the overpowering consciousness within her.
This caused her emotions to be unstable, and her mind was filled with violence.
She lost her mind, and when Dave kissed her, her consciousness weakened and went back deep into her soul, but it still took a toll on her mind. That’s the reason why she cried and acted like a child.
Dave was stunned by her story and asked the system to check her body.

Dave was astonished, and he had a hypothesis that Megicula wanted to overtake the Immortal Plane by using Freida’s body.
He learned from Ronin that the Demon Realm was ruled by 7 demon kings, but there were some old demons strong enough to challenge them like Ronin.
Megicula is one of the oldest demons, known for her terrifying curses. She had killed a god using her curse but was defeated by the Goddess of Light, who could purify her curses and restrain her, and now she was hiding to recover.
“So why was the consciousness afraid of me?”
Dave asked, and he didn’t know why the curse was afraid of him.
