As they leisurely strolled through the streets, Dave sensed a looming danger. He surveyed his surroundings and noticed three individuals dressed inconspicuously, but their intent to harm him was clear. To his surprise, he also detected a demonic aura emanating from them.
“Tsk, it seems they’ve come for revenge,” Dave sneered, immediately sending a message to Grace, alerting her to prepare for a fight. Though initially shocked, Grace soon realized her own vulnerability in the face of danger.
On the other hand, Draco remained oblivious to the situation, as the enemy had disguised themselves. However, they couldn’t escape Dave’s heightened perception.
Suddenly, one of the assailants approached Dave, wearing a friendly smile. “Hey there, young master, you look familiar,” the man greeted.
Dave smirked and replied, “Funny, I was just thinking the same about you.”
The man appeared taken aback. “You know me?” he asked.
Dave nodded, an evil glint in his eye. “I know you’re destined for the underworld.”
Upon assessing their strength, Dave realized that they were only Low-Imperial Saints and weaker than himself. However, their composition was undoubtedly intimidating.
Dave smiled, taking the man by surprise as he seized him by the neck. “Hehe, I’ve missed killing,” he taunted.
The man stood stunned, unable to react as Dave effortlessly sealed his cultivation and tossed him towards Grace. “Your meal has arrived,” Dave remarked.
With a smile, Grace drew her sword and swiftly ended the man’s life, leaving no room for hesitation. Dave gave her a thumbs-up in approval, even as the onlookers scattered in fear at the sight of a woman taking a life.
As the remaining two assassins realized their plans had been thwarted, they attempted to escape and report to their leader. However, Dave wasn’t about to let them get away so easily.
“Trying to run?” Dave exclaimed, waving his hand to create a blood clone that possessed 70% of his strength—a sufficient force to apprehend the other assassin.
“Capture the other one,” Dave instructed the clone before patting Grace’s head. “Wait for the dessert and main course,” he said, teasingly.
Grace pouted but nodded, placing her trust in Dave’s power and remaining unconcerned about his safety. Dave swiftly vanished, reappearing in front of one of the fleeing assassins. “Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, before landing a powerful punch that caught the assassin off guard.
Boom! The impact sent the assassin hurtling to the ground, causing some collateral damage to nearby establishments. However, Dave skillfully controlled his power, ensuring no harm came to innocent bystanders.
As Dave landed, he delved into the assassin’s soul, searching for information about their employer. Despite the assassin’s cries of pain, resistance was futile, and Dave ultimately discovered that the demons had targeted him due to his actions against the fourth prince and his subsequent disclosure of their plans to the royal clan.
Dave also learned that the demons had established a deep foundation within the immortal plane, with several powerful clans under their control, including three within the Illois world. These clans were composed of trusted and formidable subordinates of the emperor.
Armed with this newfound knowledge, Dave rendered the assassin unconscious, ensuring that even if he survived, he would be left crippled with a destroyed mind. He reappeared by Grace’s side, tossing the assassin’s lifeless body to her. “Here’s the main course,” he remarked.

Dave nodded, dispelling the clone and handing the captured assassin over to Grace. “You’re the best,” she complimented him.
Grace smiled, lacking any hesitation or remorse as she executed the assassin. She harbored no qualms about taking the lives of those who threatened her beloved.
