“Yanhui, oh Yanhui, I must say you are really a genius. Your small group managed to take down an entire herd of Life Beasts.” Shen Yuan slowly came out from the darkness of the cave wearing white robes with flowing black hair and magnetic black eyes.
Mo Yanhui’s eyes widened with shock and horror as if he saw a ghost in front of him, “Y-y-you—”
“Yes, it’s me. You didn’t forget me so soon, right? I would get hurt.” Shen Yuan placed his hand on his chest, looking as if his words pierced his heart.
Mo Yanhui’s eyes slowly grew dark as his heart turned cold. He realized that it was all Shen Yuan’s plan. He had brought those beasts to trap and kill them here.
A hollow laugh escaped Mo Yanhui’s lips. His body sagged, drained of not just Qi, but hope. ‘So this is how it ends… tricked like a fool.’ He let out a shuddering breath, eyes dark with resignation.
“You really think you will get such an easy death, Yanhui? After you nearly killed me by backstabbing me?” Shen Yuan playfully smiled as he reached in front of him.
“Hmph! Stop acting righteous, we were never allies to begin with, and yo—” BOOM! His words were cut short as Shen Yuan kicked his face, sending him flying backward.
“Yes, that might have been the case, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. You won’t have a good death.” He started to walk towards him again.
“Hah! Do your worst, let’s see what method you have to break my will.” Mo Yanhui’s eyes slowly became resolved as he swore to not give him the satisfaction he desired.
Shen Yuan stopped in front of him again and crouched down, “Do you think physical torture is the only method I have?” his lips formed an evil smile as he looked directly into Yanhui’s eyes.
Yanhui’s back turned cold, but he still put up a brave front, “What can you even do here? There are only the two of us.”
Shen Yuan patted his head, looking at him kindly, “Tell me, was there a female disciple in the vicinity of the area from before accompanying two disciples?”
Yanhui’s eyes widened in horror, looking at Shen Yuan, “YOU B—” BOOM! Shen Yuan slapped his face with a backhand slap and sent him flying again.
“Don’t curse now, we are civilized people here.” Shen Yuan stood up with a calm smile.
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!?!” Mo Yanhui roared with all his strength, looking at Shen Yuan as if he would chew out his flesh and drink his blood.
“Oh, her? Poor thing. She lasted longer than I expected, screaming for some ‘Brother Mo’ until the very end. You wouldn’t believe how many ways a person can scream before their throat finally gives out.” Shen Yuan shook his head with exaggerated pity, “What a heartless bastard, he didn’t come to save her at all.”

His lips curled into a bitter, broken smile.
“…If the heavens won’t grant me justice…” His voice, hoarse and cracked, trembled with venomous resolve.
He pressed his bloodied palm against the scroll, feeling a sinister pulse resonate through his soul.
“Then I will burn my soul, shatter my flesh, and forsake my name—” His eyes darkened, a chilling whisper escaping his lips.
“Abyssal Lords, hear my plea!”
The air grew heavy. A black miasma coiled around his body.
“I offer everything—my life, my will, my very existence! Take me, twist me, break me! In return, give me the power to slaughter that wretched bastard and drown this world in his blood!”
A deep, guttural laughter echoed from the void. The ground beneath him cracked open into an abyss of writhing shadows.

An arrow hit Mo Yanhui’s head, blasting it apart and splattering it all over the place. The portal that had just formed began closing rapidly.
“YOU ACCURSED HUMAN!!” A deafening roar came from the other side of the portal, a gigantic eye formed behind the portal, looking directly at Shen Yuan. “It’s yo—”
Its voice was cut short as the portal completely closed.
