Liang Hui didn’t have such a profound step technique, so he simply used his array to propel himself further. The rest of his sect mates did the same and followed after him.

Bai Wuji attacked the beast with all his might, slashing off an arm from its ape-like body.

The beast roared before picking up its severed arm and placing it back on the severed part. The disciples looked at this in astonishment. Every one of them had thought that the beasts of this Mystique Realm didn’t have intelligence and only relied on their instincts to live.
But clearly, they were wrong and absurdly wrong at that. The Ape Life Beast had not only healed its severed arm in a short amount of time but due to its display of intelligence, every one of them forgot to attack.
Shen Yuan quickly came back to his senses, “ATTACK!” He shouted before lunging towards the beast’s back. Slashing, stabbing, and cutting again and again on the beast’s back.
The rest of the disciples also came back to their senses and began attacking the beast.
Bai Wuji took a few steps back after attacking the beast in a frenzy, “We can’t go on like this, or else we will be exhausted to death. Brother Mo, do you have any trump cards left?”
Mo Yanhui glanced at Bai Wuji and slowly nodded his head, “Yes, but I can only use it once. So you guys better restrain the beast.”
Bai Wuji’s eyes lit up, and he quickly cupped his fists towards him, “We will do our best.”
The rest of the disciples heard their conversation and became much more motivated to attack the Beast Lord.
Shen Yuan also curiously looked at Mo Yanhui, wondering what his trump card would be.
“Brother Liang, Brother Shen, let’s hold back this beast for Brother Mo. His attack should be enough to deal with the beast.” Bai Wuji shouted from the side before he began attacking the beast.
Shen Yuan and Liang Hui looked at each other and nodded their heads, attacking the beast in a frenzy again.
Mo Yanhui, who was looking at everyone calmly, sent a secret message to one of his sect members, whose eyes lit up as he heard their Senior Brother’s command.
He quickly scanned the battlefield before spotting Shen Yuan. Mo Yanhui nodded in satisfaction looking at his reliable junior brother. He slowly took out a bolt of thunder from his Dantian.
“This is what my sect gave me as a life-preserving treasure. You guys better make up for it to me.” He calmly said before infusing his Qi inside the thunderbolt, making it more corporeal and solid.
Shen Yuan, who was focused on the fight, felt that something was amiss, but just then, a strange attack hit the beast, making it go into a frenzy, and just then another attack landed on top of the beast.
And with that attack, the Beast Lord shifted its target from others to Shen Yuan.
‘Fuck! Who was it?’ Shen Yuan quickly looked towards the place from where the attacks came, but he couldn’t pinpoint anyone due to the chaotic situation.
He quickly raised his sword to fight back, while Liang Hui and Bai Wuji moved forward to assist him.
“I’m attacking!” But just as they moved forward to help, Mo Yanhui screamed and shot out the thunderbolt from his hand towards the place where the beast stood.
Shen Yuan felt goosebumps coming as the strength of the attack was enough to kill even him. He gritted his teeth while staring at Mo Yanhui, who was looking directly at Shen Yuan with emotionless eyes.
‘Fuck! It’s now or never.’ He quickly thought and threw Xueyan into the small portal leading to her beast companion space and began to mobilize the Qi from all of his Dantians.
BOOM!!!
But just then, the attack of Mo Yanhui arrived; the thunderbolt pierced the entire body of the beast and struck the ground, destroying everything around the beast.
But luckily all of the disciples had already retreated, except Shen Yuan. Bai Wuji’s face was black as he looked at the smoke rising from the ground.
“MO YANHUI! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THIS?!” Bai Wuji thunderously questioned him.
Mo Yanhui looked at Bai Wuji calmly, “It isn’t my fault that Shen Yuan didn’t move from his place, I already gave the warning. And I can’t hold back the attack lest it strike me instead.”
Bai Wuji’s face turned red from frustration; he didn’t think that Mo Yanhui would dare to hurt Shen Yuan in public.
Liang Hui angrily looked at Mo Yanhui, he had struck it good with Shen Yuan and already considered him as a friend.
“Surnamed Mo, this won’t end so easily. Mark my words.” He said before turning around and heading towards the core of the forest.
Mo Yanhui looked at the leaving back of Liang Hui with cold eyes. Anyone with a brain could tell what he was thinking right now. But he decided not to act on his impulse, lest he bring more trouble for his sect.
Bai Wuji took a good look at the place where Shen Yuan was, checking to see if he was by chance still alive. But after not finding anything, he glanced at Mo Yanhui one last time before heading deeper.
Mo Yanhui looked at all the disciples leaving towards the core, leaving only him and the disciples of Thunder Cloud Sect.
“Senior Brother, that was brilliant. We managed to kill two birds with one stone.” The man to which Mo Yanhui had talked before approached him with a flattering attitude.
Mo Yanhui turned around and looked at the three disciples of his sect. “Go and check for any sign of him in the crater. We can’t afford to make mistakes right now.”
The disciples hurriedly nodded before entering the crater and looking closely at all places. One of them even dug some places that had soft soil.
Mo Yanhui calmly stood above, observing the crater. He felt that something was amiss; a genius of Shen Yuan’s caliber wouldn’t die so easily. And that made him suspicious.
But after searching for over 15 minutes, the disciples couldn’t find anything and came back up.
“There are no signs of him inside the crater, Senior Brother Mo.” One of the disciples respectfully reported.
Mo Yanhui softly nodded and began walking deeper into the core area, “Then let’s quickly go towards the core of the forest, no point in wasting time here.”
