Uchiha Mukaku asked this because not all Ninja are required to attend the Ninja Academy for education. Some prominent families typically only send a small number of their clan members to study at the Ninja Academy.
Uchiha Shisui replied with a hint of regret, "I probably won't be going; the clan has other arrangements for me."
"That's truly a shame," Uchiha Mukaku said, a bit disappointed. "If we want to train together again in the future, we'll have to wait until after I get out of school."

In this season of warm spring and blooming flowers, Uchiha Yukio brought his son to the Ninja Academy, where a list of successful entrance exam candidates was posted outside the school.
After Uchiha Yukio found his son's name, he took him to the registration office to attend the orientation session. However, some people weren't so lucky. As they were leaving, Uchiha Mukaku saw a father and son, both dressed in green jumpsuits, crying bitterly in front of the list of successful entrance exam candidates.
After the orientation session ended, Uchiha Mukaku looked through the window and saw a boy with a bowl cut, dressed in a green jumpsuit, running on the playground with a banner on his back that read: "If you can run five hundred laps around the playground, you can make up for the missed entrance."
As Uchiha Mukaku was engrossed in watching the boy's efforts, he suddenly heard some sarcastic remarks from behind him.
