“You said I just need to create a counterflow to the jutsu to return it to chakra?” Jiraiya muttered as he held up a palm and an apple sized blue orb of chakra swirled to life.
I quickly reached out and grasped the orb with my hand and squeezed causing a terrible grinding sound to ring out before the jutsu shattered under my grip without so much as bruising my skin.
“Are you an idiot!? Don’t practice it in a damn restaurant!” I scolded him seriously.
It was only at that that Jiraiya seemed to remember that he was in a restaurant surrounded by normal non-shinobi people.-
He scratched the back of his head with an embarrassed expression “Sorry about that I let my excitement get the better of my reason.” he said sincerely.
“Be more careful! If I wasn’t here to forcefully crush that jutsu you would be in a very awkward position when it blew up in you face.” I chastised seriously.
“That’s right! How did you crush the [rasengan]? That’s an A rank jutsu after all!” Jiraiya asked astonished.
“You can blame Orochimaru for that. After he pulled the stunt he did on me my natural defenses which were already enough for me to almost outright ignore anything B rank and below got massively enhanced. Now nothing below S rank can so much as scratch me if I don’t want it to. The less said about my physical strength that let me remind you EXCEEDED my sensei’s before this the better.” I said with a small twitch of annoyance.
“If you are so strong why don’t you destroy everything around you like Granny does?” Naruto asked confused.
“First I highly suggest you figure out a better way to refer to my sensei lest she choke the life out of you. Second it’s because unlike her I have several suppressant seals on me at all times that shackle me to normal levels of strength that I control very carefully so as to not end up as destructive as her.” I say seriously.
“Suppressant seals? Like gravity and weight seals used in training?” Jiraiya asked with a frown.
I nod “A bit over twenty times normal gravity with about a hundred tons on me in fact.” I say honestly.
“You mean to tell me you carry around a literal mountains worth of weight around on you at once JUST to suppress your strength!?” Jiraiya asked in horror.
I shrugged “I’m used to it, besides I still have access to a good thirty percent of my full strength which is more than enough for most task at the Jonin or Elite Jonin level.” I say casually.
“If we were to fight..” Jiraiya started but I raised a hand to stop him.
“Trust me, you don’t want to know the answer to that question.” I say seriously.
“Hmph! Just you wait Kenzo, I’ll catch up eventually! Believe it!” Naruto said not discouraged by the reveal of some of my power.
“As always I’ll be waiting for you.” I said before letting the conversation end there.
We finished up our meal and left the restaurant after that and soon after town as well as what came next required space. I was of course referring to Naruto and Jiraiya learning how to cancel absorb a [rasengan]. My role in this matter was as a medic to make sure they didn’t accidentally cripple themselves since if they messed up that became a very real possibility otherwise. Karin didn’t mind too much as she had always intended to learn the [rasengan] since if nothing else it was a good exercise in chakra control.-
Learning how to cancel it and reabsorb it’s chakra was naturally a valuable thing as a result. Jiraiya ironically had the hardest time grasping the concept as it stood in opposition to much of his ingrained knowledge. He had gone close to two decades using the [rasengan] with the idea that once summoned it needed to be used and this was a VERY different truth to that. Naruto had no such hang ups and quickly understood what I had said and how to do it.-
“I did it!” he exclaimed triumphantly as he successfully broke apart his own [rasengan] and reabsorbed it’s chakra though at a loss as some of it escaped to dissipate.
“Don’t celebrate until you can do it perfectly, you lost almost thirty percent of the chakra you used to make the thing!” I said chastising him for getting excited at an imperfect result.
That may sound like I was being mean but that was just my way of egging him on to be better. Naruto is a bit odd in that he’ll slack off if he thinks something is good enough so you have to make him think it’s not to get the best result out of him. Honestly though with his chakra level the amount of chakra he lost in his first attempt was like nothing to him.-
Still hearing me he immediately moved to make a few hundred shadow clones that each began to manifest a apple sized [rasengan]. With such a ridiculous amount of shadow clones it came as no surprise that he completely mastered it by the end of the day. Jiraiya did as well but that was honestly more because of his experience than anything else.-
The toad sage was much older and experienced than Naruto so he naturally had it easier when it came to grasping advanced topics than Naruto.
“Congratulations on learning your first peak S rank jutsu.” I said to Naruto who looked at me confused.
“The [rasengan] was a peak A rank jutsu originally but with this method of reabsorbing it it ekes out a place in S rank just barely. The original version wasn’t versatile or powerful enough to cross into it but this new unpredictability factor makes it cross that threshold.” Jiraiya explained with a chuckle.
“But I thought it only reached S rank when it was used with an elemental release? If it’s S rank now what happens then, SS rank or something?” Naruto asked confused.
