A drop of dirty water fell in front of him and then dropped straight into the pool below.
Ling Mo looked down and immediately felt a chill down his spine.
This place… was completely pitch black…
The pool water was almost opaque, with only a layer of moss and mucus-covered concrete above, giving a low and oppressive feeling. The pool was rectangular, about ten meters long, with less than thirty centimeters of space left on both sides against the walls, barely enough for a person to walk. To see the entire pool clearly or to pass through it, one had to walk on this “path.”

A large splash erupted on the water’s surface, then slowly returned to calm.

A few seconds later, the calm water surface suddenly began to churn again. Then, near the fence, a person suddenly emerged.

As the water churned, a pale fish corpse floated up.
The fish was about a meter long, with a mouth full of sharp teeth and scales like iron plates, with edges rusted. “A catfish?” That was his first thought. Catfish could grow to over a meter even in a sewer… But on closer inspection, this fish seemed different from a catfish. In fact, it seemed different from any fish…
“What is it exactly…”
Ling Mo stared at it for a moment, then felt a chill run up his spine.

It was the eyes!
The fish’s eyes… looked exactly like human eyes!
Though they couldn’t close, their structure and shape were completely unlike a fish’s. And maybe it was a trick of the light, but after noticing this, Ling Mo felt the fish’s eyes were filled with resentment and anger…
