As Ava took a fighting stand after arriving at the testing ground, Receptionist Elle shouted, “Are you ready, Miss Ava?”
“I’m ready!” Ava tightly gripped her dagger, ready to make her move.
“I’m also ready,” Marcus shouted at Elle, and he thought, ‘Although she looks much younger than Miss Julie, I won’t make the same mistake and look down on her just because she is young.’
Since both of them were ready, Elle shouted, “Start!”
As soon as they heard Elle’s shout, Marcus took a defensive position, channeling mana to his arms and legs. In the earlier match, he was cocky and made the first move, thinking he could easily win as his opponent was clearly a woman. However, he was easily defeated due to underestimating his opponent.
‘This time I won’t hold myself back and will use my full strength, or I would become a joke in front of Elle. I have a feeling that Miss Ava is no weaker than Miss Julie.’ Marcus thought inwardly.
‘So, he’s on the defensive side now after losing to Sister Julie. In that case, I’ll make the first move then.’ Ava thought, seeing that Marcus was putting up a defensive stand, holding his sword with both hands.
Ava then channeled her Qi to her feet as she gripped her dagger tightly. Her figure flashed before Marcus’s eyes, and in an instant, she appeared close to him and swung her dagger at him.
‘Oh, shit!’ Marcus cursed seeing Ava close the distance in the blink of an eye and swing her dagger at him. He utilized all his might to move his sword to block Ava’s incoming dagger.
Clang! The sound of metal colliding resounded, a strong shockwave swept the place, sending Marcus a few meters backward by the force behind Ava’s attack.
‘As I’ve expected, she is strong despite her feminine looks.’ Marcus looked at Ava with a serious expression. Despite putting up a lot of effort to block the dagger, he was still pushed back by the force behind the attack.
After stabilizing his balance, Marcus looked at Ava with admiration, something he never did for any woman before. “You’re quite strong despite your beautiful look and feminine figure. I hardly blocked that attack just now, but the force behind that attack still pushed me back… I’m impressed.”
“Well, thank you for your compliment. But, I still haven’t defeated you yet.” Ava smiled and quickly attacked Marcus once again with her fast speed.
Ava’s attacks were fierce and deadly, each aimed at Marcus’s vital points as though she wanted him dead. Due to this, Marcus used his full strength to defend against Ava’s fierce and unpredictable attacks.
‘I’m not only using my body enhancement magic but also fast movement reflex magic as well as strengthening magic… But it’s still not enough to keep up with her speed and her unpredictable attacks.’ Marcus cried inwardly as he did his very best to defend himself from Ava’s fierce assaults.
“It appears that I won’t be able to keep defending against her attacks much longer. It’s time to use my special move.” Marcus tightly gripped the handle of the sword with both hands and channeled his mana to his sword.
‘It seems Marcus is preparing to use his special move. I wonder if Miss Ava will be able to withstand his special move…’ Elle frowned at Marcus, seeing him channeling his mana to his sword. Then she turned to see the expression on Yuan and his wives’ faces.
Yuan and his wives had very calm expressions, despite knowing that Marcus was preparing to use his special move on Ava, as though they already knew the outcome.
Soon, the strange symbol on Marcus’s sword lit up in bright red color, and the light covered the whole sword, making the sword extra sharp and destructive.
“Mr. Yuan and Mrs.Yuan, you all look quite calm about the situation,” Elle spoke to Yuan and his wives, and she continued. “However, I must warn you not to underestimate Marcus’s special moves. With his special moves, he has defeated many strong opponents, after all.”
“Hahaha,” Yuan laughed, and he continued. “Miss receptionist, you don’t need to be concerned about Ava. She is strong and can handle such attacks fairly easily. You’ll know what I mean…”
How can mere mortals be compared to a cultivator like Ava? Although her cultivation is weak compared to his other wives, her strength is far superior to a magic knight like Marcus, and he believes that she will be able to handle Marcus’s special attack and come out victorious.

“In that case, please try not to die.” His sword burst a strong red aura, causing the ground to crack. He swung his sword at Ava, sending a massive red arc of sword light at her.

Ava’s dagger went slicing the sword arc in half, causing Marcus’s eyes to nearly pop out from his sockets, seeing his special move was easily cut in half. The attack then crashed against the stone wall behind and was absorbed by the special stones.
However, Ava didn’t stop there. Her figure flashed before vanishing from her location, and Marcus felt a cold sensation of metal pressing against his neck.
“I passed the test,” Ava said, holding her dagger against Marcus’s neck. Marcus couldn’t believe that he was defeated by a woman for the second time.
“How is that possible?! I was defeated by a woman once again?! This is really an unlucky day for me,” Marcus mumbled to himself in a low voice, still having a hard time believing he was defeated by a woman for the second time.
Elle, meanwhile, was equally stunned after witnessing how easily Ava handled Marcus’s special attack and how swiftly she defeated Marcus right after dealing with his attack.
‘This is truly unbelievable. If I’m not here to witness it for myself, she is a monster as well, just like her husband,’ Elle muttered inwardly, seemingly in disbelief.
Yuan saw the disbelief look on Elle’s face, and with a playful voice, he said, “How, Miss Receptionist, do you understand now what I mean?”
“Sigh, after watching the spar, I could only say… All of you are monsters!” Elle sighed, and she asked, “How do you have such monstrous strength without having mana in your bodies? It doesn’t make any sense to me.”
“It’s a secret,” Yuan smiled mysteriously. How could he reveal that he and his wives are not normal but cultivators, with far superior power than they could ever imagine?
After a moment, Elle turned to Rose and said, “Miss Rose, it’s your turn to take the exam.”

“Are you suggesting that we should pass Miss Rose without testing her?”

“You do have a point there.” Elle nodded and continued, “Since you don’t want to test her abilities, then I will write it down that she passed the test.”
After that, Elle turned to Rose and said, “Miss Rose, you don’t need to take the test anymore. I’ve already written down that you passed the test since Marcus doesn’t want to fight anymore.”
“I see…” Rose exclaimed, and with a disappointed look, she continued, “It’s a shame though that I couldn’t participate in the test, but I understand his reasoning for not wanting to continue the test anymore.”
“It’s really a shame…but we can’t force him to fight you, can we?” Elle chuckled and continued, “Let’s return to the reception hall. I’ll give you three your hunter licenses there.”
After that, Elle led them back to the reception hall for handing them their hunter licenses.
