“A Wizard?” Zheng Qing thought of the Little girl from earlier and winced, “I could barely accept it if you said Cultivator.”
“This includes Chinese Cultivators, monks, Confucian scholars, the Church’s Cultivators and priests, RB’s Yin and Yang Masters and ninjas, Indian Brahman monks, Egyptian priests, American super-powered individuals, and even non-biological beings like vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and spirits. They are all considered Wizards. It’s just different names that have come about due to historical reasons.”
Zheng Qing blinked, finding it very interesting, “You just mentioned that First University is a Wizard University, so does that mean there are also Wizard middle schools and Wizard primary schools?”
“Correct!” Thomas nodded, his emerald eyes calm and clear, with no hint of joking on his face.
“Then do you know Hogwarts?” Zheng Qing asked with a smile.
“Of course, excellent graduates of Hogwarts can always enter First University Alpha Academy without an entrance exam,” Thomas’s eyes showed some surprise, “You know that Academy too? Do you have a friend there? If I heard correctly, a Little girl on the way earlier also mentioned that school’s name. Hogwarts is an ancient middle school located in England. I attended middle school at ‘Super Genius’ in America. Actually, besides recruiting new students and some international exchange programs, First University doesn’t have much contact with these middle schools.”
“What’s the date today?” Zheng Qing interrupted Thomas’s endless explanation, looking at the slick-haired guy in front of him with a scowl, his eyes full of suspicion, “It doesn’t seem to be April 1st.”
“You don’t believe me?” Thomas’s eyebrows rose.
“I’m just a little curious. It’s not that I don’t believe in these, um, these supernatural things…”
“This is not supernatural at all. Isn’t this a very Nature thing?” Thomas interrupted sternly, “For a Wizard, everything is Nature.”
“My point is, I mean, I’ve never attended any Wizard primary school, Wizard middle school… The fact that this is a University and not a primary school says a lot. How can you expect a guy who doesn’t even know addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to prove ‘1+1’? I’m not Harry Potter!” Zheng Qing waved his hand somewhat anxiously, explaining in a hurried tone.
“Who is Harry Potter? I’ve heard his name several times today,” Thomas looked bewildered but still answered seriously, “Also, isn’t one plus one two?”
“Are you an alien?” Zheng Qing’s eyes widened.
“To be precise, I do have some alien bloodline,” Thomas frowned, answering earnestly but somewhat reluctantly, “But I don’t recommend you ask other students this way at school; it’s very impolite… If it weren’t for the school rule that interviewers must answer students’ questions, I wouldn’t bother with your unreasonable behavior.”
The tea house waiter came over with a kettle to refill the water and replaced the dried fruit plate.
Zheng Qing picked up a peanut, crushed the shell, threw the peanut into his mouth, and while chewing, he shifted his body and changed his sitting posture. He felt that their conversation just now was very strange. He needed to move a little and adjust his mindset.
“How did you find me?” After seeing the waiter leave, Zheng Qing changed the subject.
Thomas raised his eyebrows, his gaze sweeping over Zheng Qing’s head, seemingly finding the question as ridiculous as the tuft of hair on his head.
Zheng Qing looked around. The waitstaff stood behind the counter, smiling blankly, and the few scattered guests were only concerned with the cups in front of them. The entire tea house was exceptionally quiet.
He picked up his teacup, took a sip of tea, and rephrased, “I want to ask, how did you know I was a, Wizard?”
Thomas still looked puzzled, seemingly still not understanding what Zheng Qing was saying.
“My point is, I don’t remember enrolling in First University,” Zheng Qing deliberated and tried a different way of asking again, “And I’ve emphasized since just now that I haven’t attended any Wizard kindergarten, primary school, or middle school. I have hundreds of classmates who can testify that from primary school to high school, for more than ten years, I’ve always stayed within the range of two streets.”
“Oh,” Thomas realized, then looked at Zheng Qing with a very strange expression and said, “But you have the ability to cast Spells… It’s like you completed primary and middle school in an unregulated school, and once your abilities were sufficient, you were naturally included in the school’s roster.”
“Also, you participated in the independent enrollment examination organized by First University,” Thomas took out a piece of paper and handed it to Zheng Qing, smiling contentedly, “I have your global Wizard college entrance examination transcript here. Out of a perfect score of 500, you got 480 points, ranking second among the new students this year. Excellent score!”
Saying that, he picked up his teacup, took a sip of tea, and nodded at the dazed Zheng Qing, giving an encouraging smile.
Zheng Qing vaguely recalled the night he found Poseidon’s mother.
Before being woken up in the KTV, he had been running with a black cat in a dream, then was led into the depths of a dense forest, entered a large building, and was put into an examination room by a beautiful Little girl to take a bewildering exam.
“I always thought that was a dream.” Zheng Qing felt like an idiot.
“That was originally an exam in a dream. There’s no quicker way to gather all the examinees than in a dream,” Thomas shook his head, “From Alaska to the Himalayas, examinees are spread all over the world. The University doesn’t have that many pumpkin carriages to send to you.”
“You use pumpkin carriages to get around?” Zheng Qing grinned and said.
“That’s a rhetorical device,” Thomas took a deep breath, “You can understand it as a dry joke.”
“Then could you please introduce this… First University to me?”
“Just like its name, First University is the top-ranked University in the Wizarding World,” Thomas did not decline. After a brief thought, he began to speak voluminously:
“The students at this school receive the optimal education, verified by many Great Wizards: Sky Magic Writing that can traverse the universe, Spells encompassing different techniques, the preparation of various magical potions, and a higher-level understanding of the Origin of the world, and a broader understanding of our history. It can be said that this school integrates all the best knowledge in the world and teaches it to the next generation.”
“The school has a very long history, but there are still some disagreements about the exact founding date.”
“First University developed on the foundation of Nine Provinces College.
